Bold :: Upgrade My BB9900 OS 7 To OS 7.1?

I'd appreciate opinions from folks who had a Curve 9320 who upgraded to a Bold 9700. I love the Curve, but am starting to have issues with long periods of watching the hour glass, but also mechanical age issues, like a metal pin that poked through the 5/D key.My only complaint with the Curve, other than the amount of time it spends thinking about itself, is that I could never use weatherbug or any of the weather apps, they just ground everything to a halt.

Memory Total: 55GB
Memory Free: 8 GB (after deleting a bunch of photos, texts, etc)

I am running OS 6 bundle 2949 on a BB 9780. Is there any upgrade for this device and OS and if yes then where can I get it? BB software said I have the newest installed but I doubt that.

first of i have a blackberry bold 9700 from at&t but am using a t-mobile simcard. ive had the bb for a month now purchased from ebay(big mistake) anyways i started having problems with setting up my email(your device had a problem connecting to the server) then it was bbm i can't send pictures and then facebook i can't upload pictures either, so i thought the best solution is to upgrade from os 5 to os 6 and maybe it would erase all the problems, little did i know that gonna be a problem. tried almost everything from Internet vids to forums after forums i also deleted the "vendor.xml." file and tried again which started working until i realized after the upgrade was done my bb was still in the os 5 firmware......

BB Bold :: Cannot Upgrade OS 4.6 To 5.0 On It

I cannot update it. This is what I was trying:

1) Downloaded and installed latest BB Desktop Software, and going "Update". It says that no updates are available. If I click on "View other packages", the list has my existing installed 4.6.0 as the latest package

2) My carrier (Orange UK) emailed me a link where I downloaded the official 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel1137_PL5.2.0.64_A5.0.0.681_Orange_UK.exe firmware verified and released by them. That installes "BB Device Software Version 5.0.0" on my PC fine - and then it does absolutely nothing. Some program gets installed on the PC, but does not interact with USB connected phone whatsoever.

3) Downloaded 9000j_PBr5.0.0_rel661_PL5.2.0.33_A5.0.0.411_Bell_Mobility_Inc.exe. At the end of installation it actually asks me if I want to look for updates to my OS, and then says "There are no BlackBerry device software updates available".

4) Found Loader.exe manually in C:Program FilesRIMAppLoader folder. If I start it, it reads in details from my phone, but next screen where I should have an option to add new OS, I just see 2 of my applications in the list.

on my PC which are full of alx and xml files (I tried the delete vendor.xml trick), but I just can't upload them to the phone?

5) Tried update via website [url]... When I click "update" button, it says that no updates are available - again.

6) On the phone Options->Advanced Options->Check for updates ("Current version is 4.6.0.303") - "No updates available"

How can this be happenning when OS 5 runs perfectly fine on 9000 bold? I spent hours with poor people on tech support line from Orange UK, two of them mentioned that they installed OS 5 on 9000 so many times.

Just tried to upgrade BB Bold device software wirelessly overnight, and whilst device was left on charge. Advisory message after s/w download was that it may take 2 hours, but when i tried to boot device this morning it is completely dead. Desktop software also advises me that it cannot communicate with device.

I upgraded to BlackBerry Desktop software v7.0.0.59 (Bundle 60) after updating I checked the update & availability for my Bold 9930 so I went into the update device tab to see if Verizon 7.1.0.267 was available & it was not available after checking the availability I disconnected Bold & went into (Options-Device-Software Updates) still not available my next step was to do a soft reset & battery pull to maybe see if that would solve problem & still not available.

every couple of days, my year-and-a-half old phone fails to connect to the internet. Twitter, Facebook, and the Browser do not work, saying that I am unconnected to wifi, when I do have a connection. To solve this problem, I have been turning off the phone, and then pulling out the battery. This seems to work, it just seems tedious to keep doing so.Then I thought maybe I should upgrade the operating system. I can't seem to find this on the BB desktop manager.

I will clear the log, pull the battery and all of that but it still hangs and it's started just dropping calls.Will upgrading the software take care of that? I just got mine, and its great. I cant get over 100+mb free space..and OS 5.0.0.330 tmo official is fine but I cant help myself and want to upgrade(lol). Whats the best build out for tmo? I wanted to put .405 att official on but I read a bunch of posts saying to stay away from that unless you are AT&T...I am not really sure why, I never heard of carrier specific builds...RIM makes the build and carriers call them official if they pass their tests.I do not want bugs...Im over that...gone through trying every single new build on my 9000, lololol.I want one with the best battery life possible and everything working.

So im using my new 9700 i just upgrade the OS to 5.0.405 but i have not upgraded the Blavkberry Mesnger. I am currently using ver. 4.7 but i do want to see what the new version 5.0 is like. when i click on the messenger i con i get the 'Updat Available:Get Link/Copy Link/cancel options. What im wondering is if i upgrade this way will it install a fresh install or will it simply add on to the existing version, i guess the concern here is if it will delete my contacts as well or will it preserve all my contacts. Ihave already created a back up but want to know other peoples experiences in upgrading.
