BB Bold :: How To Upgrade
Aug 3, 2012I am running OS 6 bundle 2949 on a BB 9780. Is there any upgrade for this device and OS and if yes then where can I get it? BB software said I have the newest installed but I doubt that.

BB Bold 9000 :: Is The Bold Significant Upgrade From Curve 8320?
Mar 18, 2010I'd appreciate opinions from folks who had a Curve 9320 who upgraded to a Bold 9700. I love the Curve, but am starting to have issues with long periods of watching the hour glass, but also mechanical age issues, like a metal pin that poked through the 5/D key.My only complaint with the Curve, other than the amount of time it spends thinking about itself, is that I could never use weatherbug or any of the weather apps, they just ground everything to a halt.

Memory Free: 8 GB (after deleting a bunch of photos, texts, etc)

Dec 4, 2011first of i have a blackberry bold 9700 from at&t but am using a t-mobile simcard. ive had the bb for a month now purchased from ebay(big mistake) anyways i started having problems with setting up my email(your device had a problem connecting to the server) then it was bbm i can't send pictures and then facebook i can't upload pictures either, so i thought the best solution is to upgrade from os 5 to os 6 and maybe it would erase all the problems, little did i know that gonna be a problem. tried almost everything from Internet vids to forums after forums i also deleted the "vendor.xml." file and tried again which started working until i realized after the upgrade was done my bb was still in the os 5 firmware......

Sep 30, 2011I cannot update it. This is what I was trying:
1) Downloaded and installed latest BB Desktop Software, and going "Update". It says that no updates are available. If I click on "View other packages", the list has my existing installed 4.6.0 as the latest package
2) My carrier (Orange UK) emailed me a link where I downloaded the official 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel1137_PL5.2.0.64_A5.0.0.681_Orange_UK.exe firmware verified and released by them. That installes "BB Device Software Version 5.0.0" on my PC fine - and then it does absolutely nothing. Some program gets installed on the PC, but does not interact with USB connected phone whatsoever.
3) Downloaded 9000j_PBr5.0.0_rel661_PL5.2.0.33_A5.0.0.411_Bell_Mobility_Inc.exe. At the end of installation it actually asks me if I want to look for updates to my OS, and then says "There are no BlackBerry device software updates available".
4) Found Loader.exe manually in C:Program FilesRIMAppLoader folder. If I start it, it reads in details from my phone, but next screen where I should have an option to add new OS, I just see 2 of my applications in the list.

on my PC which are full of alx and xml files (I tried the delete vendor.xml trick), but I just can't upload them to the phone?
5) Tried update via website [url]... When I click "update" button, it says that no updates are available - again.
6) On the phone Options->Advanced Options->Check for updates ("Current version is 4.6.0.303") - "No updates available"
How can this be happenning when OS 5 runs perfectly fine on 9000 bold? I spent hours with poor people on tech support line from Orange UK, two of them mentioned that they installed OS 5 on 9000 so many times.

Advisory message after s/w download was that it may take 2 hours, but when i tried to boot device this morning it is completely dead. Feb 12, 2010I am a noob so please forgive me ..i had a booting error yesterday where the red light stuck on with a black screen and i had to pull the battery (luckily for me it revived) sadly after it loaded i realized i lost all my contacts however this happened when my brother soft reset it when it was connected via usb to the pc so i guess some current interference buged the loading process.
Then today i soft reset my bold i got a white screen with app loader i believe 523 error reset or something, i cant quite remember but i think thats it however i hit either the end key or the enter key (sorry to so vague guys i got scared) ....after i pressed those buttons it began the reboot cycle ...loaded up and has been fine ever since..just wondering if you think i should upgrade my Os or just leave it i am on 4.6.0.162...
BB Bold 9700 :: Messenger Upgrade?

But This morning i find that everytime i go into BB Messenger I get a box that says 'Upgrade available' I click on the 'get link' box and go to the page it takes me to on explorer. There is a big grey button on the screen that say 'Download' but I can't click on it....... I hold the arow over it and click and nothing happens, I've tried zooming in and i've tried pressing enter.
