BlackBerry :: Cannot Get Into Router To Reconfigure It?
Oct 21, 2010
INet browsing via WiFi works (BB 9105), but I would like to get into my Router too, to reconfigure it. When I try to access my router, 192.168.1.1, or my ADSL modem (192.168.0.1) I always get the 504 error (Gateway Timeout), which is the same error I get when browsing through BIS.Of course, through BIS I cannot access my router or modem, but with WiFi it should be possible to access it.
To make sure, I turned off BIS on my 9105.I also, via a PC, configured the router to allow my BB MAC address to access the router.
Are they not compatible at all?Or do I have to use a different browser on my BB?
I inherited a blackberry from a relative and can use it for phone calls, texts, address book, etc. I would like to reconfigure the setting for email and cannot find the steps to do that. It is currently configured for Blackberry Enterprise, and I would like to change it to Microsoft Outlook.
I have a Torch but i think any phone could develope this problem. i frequently use my phone is hotspots and whenever i connected to the internet via those routers and modems, the little blackberry logo appears next to my wireless icon which signifys that it has connected to the BIS service via the ADSL router so when i stream videos and download files, i dont get charged. in the last few days, the little blackberry logo has only connected via my 3G and GPRS. i can connect to the ADSL router but the little blackberry logo stays on my 3G or GPRS and doesnt appear next to my wireless icon so when i stream videos or download files, it charges me since it is downloading from the network and not the router. how do i force it to connect to the internet via the ADSL router instead of the network. I have tried a hard restart and also disabling the network connection but it still doesnt connect via the router so i don't get emails or bbm messages. i have also registered via the "host routing table" which is located in "options/device/advanced system settings" and i get a message to say it has registered but it is still the same. i dont know what to do as now i have a large bill because everyday i stream videos via my phone,
It continues to beep and display the apple logo or prompting me to reconfigure by connecting to iTunes. If I connect to iTunes will all of my info still be the same?

The Specs: BB Curve 8310 (EDGE) O/S v4.2.2.170 (platform 2.5.0.30) Carrier - AT&T BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) Vista Home Premium 64 bit- SP1 BB Desktop Manager Version 5.0.1 (March 2010) USB cable for sync The Problem: How do I reconfigure the sync setting on a "grayed-out" Desktop Manager (DTM) v5.0.1? But please read on...when I updated my DTM from v4.3.0 to 5.0.1 I think I was asked how I wanted to set up my sync. I accidentally set up the sync guidelines to sync upon connection and my old settings on my previous DTM (v4.3.0) had a sync that went both ways. But what I really want to do is to reconfigure my sync settings to "One Way Sync FROM device (BB data --> laptop). I need to do this because all my data is on my BB device and is not on my laptop due to a hard drive crash on my laptop. I will lose years of data if I do not sync in the proper direction. On the "grayed-out" DTM I cannot click on anything to change the sync settings. I just keep getting the DTM message, "Before you begin, verify that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer". But if I connect my BB device with the computer, I am afraid the sync may not go in the correct direction that I require and I will lose my data. I am a new user to the setup process and would really appreciate a step-by-step approach from start to finish to solve this issue. Your suggestions will be most appreciated and I thank you in advance.
It is possible to use an i-phone to connect a Mac Book Pro to internet through the 3G SIM card of the i-phone. Is it possible to use the BB Bold to connect the Mac Pro Book to internet?

My iphone 5 detects wifi only when near to the router but is not detected if I move a few steps. My brother's iphone 5S and my dad's 5 are working fine with same router. They are able to access it upto 30 feet but i cant even extend it more than 10 feet.
I had a 9700 last week on Orange (UK) had bad coverage but noticed when i played with the options it connected via my router to UMA. i since returned my phone and now with UK provider Vodafone which works much better, but not managed to to get UMA going. Any ideas?
Tether a wireless router? With jail break 3GS 3.1.3, can one connect it to a wireless router that has a USB port for an aircard, but instead of using an ATT aircard, use the iphone w/ a USB card ? Would like to do this because for my purposes I have both laptop an desktop running, but use them for different things.
I have my cell service through T-Mobile and recently upgraded to a Bold 9700 with internet service. I can browse the internet over the 3G network and at a Hot Spot location using the Wi-Fi. What I can't do is access the internet through my wireless router at home. The Netgear router (WPN824 v3) works fine through the cable modem for laptops and my daughter's Motorola Click smartphone. When I turn off the 3G network, I get a "can't find the server message".
I have A Blackberry Torch 9800....OS 6...And It's Not picking Up my Wireless Router....When I turn The Wifi On, The Grey dark Symbol Just Comes On But When I try To Search For Any Routers It Doesn't Detect Any...I've tried Connecting It Manually But It Says "Failed To Connect To The Internet"..If I Stand near Beside The Router It Connects But The Signal Is Very Weak...I Have To Literally Be Standing Right Next To The Router Or Else My Torch Won't Pick It Up..This Started Happening Couple Days Ago But Before That It Had No problem Connecting.. Do I Just Have A Bad Signal?.If So, Why Did It Just Started All Of A Sudden Cause It used To Work Flawless Before That?
Just got my Nexus One on Friday nigth, and am loving it so far. However, I have a curious problem..... It seems when I am home, and my Nexus is hooked onto the wifi, that when my phone goes to sleep (ie I don't use it, the screen blanks, etc) that at some point my router locks up.This means the phone can't connect on wifi, my computer which is hardwired in to the router doesn't work, and i can't even connect to the router itself via the admin page. I need to reboot the router to get the whole thing working again.
I've tried setting the router to autoscan the channel, to use only Wireless G.I also tried having the phone set up to maintain wireless all the time, but that still locked up the router.I've never had problems with our laptop, or with the sis in laws iPhone. so this is either a giant coincidence and my router is dying exactly when I get the phone, or something on the phone is causing the router to lock up.My router is probably 3 or 4 years old, a DLink WBR1310 but before I ran out and bought a new router, wanted to see if anyone else has been having the same issues?
My iPhone 4 always looses wifi connectivity to my Wifi router and doesn't want to connect again. After turning the phone off and on again, wifi in the settings is now greyed out and unusable.
My iPhone 4 (version 5.1.1) uses 3G unless I'm right on top of the router in my home. I've already exceeded my monthly data allowance because of this. My phone company was less than helpful. None of my other wireless devices (kindle fire, iPad, iPhone 3GS, laptop) has this problem.
My iphone 4s is having problem connecting to my home router. (ASUS)I was able to connect my home router using my laptop, and my Iphone can see all the nnetwork in the building, but it just did not connet.I am at work and my iphone is able to connect to work wireless. What can be wrong?
i have an htc wildfire. managed to connect to any network but found a really big problem to connect to my girlfriends home router. the problem is nobody knows the password of the router there. i cannot reset it
IMy iPhone 5s will not accept the password for my new Netgears Nighthawk AC1900 router. My iPad Air, another iPhone 5 and another iPad Air as well as our PCs all accept the same password.
Yesterday when i bought the phone at the mall I was able to briefly connect to a wifi spot using nokia 5530 .But when I got home I couldnt connect to my router which also has wireless capabilities , now when I search for network throught the phone I cant see my router ! Im beggining to think this is because I use PPPOE that I also connect my pc to internet ? what should I do to get wireless to my phone too I dont see an option on the phone that asks for PPPOE username and password ,how do I get this ressolved ?
I bought my mom a E63. When I se it up, everything worked perfectly. It would find my router at home and conect to it, it would find wireless hotspots everywhere and connect to them etc... Now, all of the sudden, it will not find anything anymore. Even if I am standing in front of my router, it will say "No WLAN network found".
I just updated her phone to the newest firmware and reset everything to factory defaults, and the phone still refuses to find any WLAN's. I went into the menu and made sure that it does show WLAN availability etc...
