BB Torch :: Import The .IPD File To The New Phone?
Jul 31, 2011
I recently gave back my business phone to my employer It was a BB 8520. Before I did I had the phone carrier copy all my contacts phone list. (.IPD) file I now have all my SIM cards from other phone in my new Torch. How do I import the .IPD file to the new phone. I have copied the file to the Phone in the "files" section.
What do you use when you import CD's into iTunes? I've been using lossless because it sounds so damn good, but it takes up SO much space! What file format do you use when importing?
I got a new 9380 and wondering what options I have to import my contacts from SAMSUNG Android to BB 9380Is it possible to import contacts from text file, csv or a excel file in to it.
I have a vCard file of 300+ personal contacts/phone numbers that I want to import from a very old Palm Address book app and keep entirely separate from the iOS Contacts app.   Im trying to figure out how to import them to my phone/iTunes and maintain them completely separate from the Apple Contacts app, Yahoo mail files, Facebook, Google, etc...... ie. all the other places I have some sort of contact info.Â
I was hoping to find a new Address/Contacts app, download it, import the vCard file of my data that the Palm program will create, and then I'm off and running.  Brand new Address book app that never touched the Apple "Contacts" app nor any of my other accounts.  However it seems that every Address app out there wants to seed the app with data from another address book app....not directly from a vCard file.Â
Brilliant phone, everything I need, a bit of a learning curve but as a business alternative to the Blackberry and Iphone I cant think of much else I'd need, and at £10-£10 a month cheaper it's got to be a worthy contender up against the other two if you can do without the fancy bells and whistles which I dont need
However I need to import a load of contacts from an excel file and Outlook, and I'm struggling to find out how to do this, can anyone put me in the right direction?
Also I'd like to use it with an external keyboard for those times when I'm in a hotel and some more lengthy emails to send, the onboard keyboard is very good, but fiddly for extensive use.
Also is there a headset with single earpiece and mouthpiece? My kids use a similar device on their x-box, it'd be useful where I have to make a succession of phone calls, the supplied headset is basic and I dont like the two little earpieces for extended work
Also can anyone recommend a basic CRM for the E72, I think the range of apps is very limited and if this is going to challenge the BB I think some more business orientated apps, not necessarily complicated, but Nokia recommended would be really useful. I've seen some CRM's suitable for the E series but no idea how good/bad they are, there seems to be very little user-reviews on them.
I have a big video file I took on my iPhone - 4.9gb - which both iPhoto and image capture wont let me import. Any suggestions how I can import this onto my Macbook?
I cannot get my computer to recognize my media card. I want to be able to get the pictures and videos off of my phone but it will not recognize anything on my memory card.
I have large video files on my BB that I recorded. At first, I had no problem importing them from my BB to my PC. Now, I can only import very small files. Anything over 200MB, an error message comes up saying something about Desktop Manager keeping 200MB free for transfer and can't transfer the videos. I'd really like to get these videos off my phone to keep it from eating up my memory.
I tried doing this using the SIM, but found that this only carreid over the first phone number and no extra numbers or email addresses. So then I exported from the LG to my desktop [using a USB connection] and then tried importing this file, but the 9800 didn't like it at all.
So then I swapped the SIM to the 9800 and used the Blackberry Desktop Manager to export an ascii file to my desktop computer. This gave me a file with """" a million quotation marks in it which made it way too hard to edit and add numbers etc to it. So I imported this to an XL file [using the header labels from the 9800] and edited my info. When I tried to import this to the Blackberry, it recognised the file OK, but wouldn't transfer the info across. So I then saved the XL file as a csv but this didn't work either.
My Phone:BB Torch -- about a year oldBB Device Manager -- 6.0Service Provider : ATTMy Laptop:Sony -- about 3 years oldWindows XPExplorer 8MS Office 2003Contact manager: ACT!My situation:
I have about 1200 contacts in ACT! that I want to keep in my phone. I have tried to sync my phone with my computer a couple of times, the results from which have been very disappointing. I have tried syncing both through Outlook to the phone, and from a CSV file to the phone. Both methods result in significant amounts of information missing when the contacts are imported into my phone.
Took a nice 45-minute video on Xmas day with my 950. It uploaded to the PC but I can't put it on removable media. It's 5.8GB, too big for a DVD. Tried to transfer it to a new 16GB USB thumb drive but I get a "file too big" error on the PC. Tried another blank thumb drive; same thing. PC is running the latest version of Win 10. I'm stumped.
What should I do to access word files in my media card? my Doc to go displays an error message saying "this file cannot be opened because its an RTF file"
I have a r800i. Running on 2.3.4. FW is .62 and running a custom ROM (JokaWIld v3).
Somehow all my contacts have been deleted and I think I forgot to make a backup of the contacts before i went into custom romming... (silly me). But my other sim card has most of my contacts so i inserted my other sim card and now when i go to contacts, and press the options menu, the 'import' option is not highlighted...
Just got my wife a Motorola Gleam and trying to set it up.First thing I need to do is transfer phonebook entries from her old phone or PC to the Gleam and can't see how to do this. I tried Motorola Phone Tools V5 and it didn't recognise the phone.
I have bought a X10 and want to import my contacts from my older Nokia mobile phone. I have the contact list saved as a .csv file. How can I import this file to the X10?
The bluetooth handsfree connects and pairs with my samsung s6 however it won't import the contacts, it keeps saying no contacts found but they are all on the device. The car dealer says it's an issue with the samsung security so I went to where I got the phone from and they can't see an issue and say it's an issue with the handsfree!
I connected my phone and was able to import photos from my iMac to my iPhone (4s) but now i want to delete them from my phone but it doesn't give me the option to delete them. it has its own album and says "imported from imac" and i try to delete them but i don't have the option to.
My screen is broken on my Samsung5, completely black. The phone works but I cannot see anything. I thought my contacts where synced to my gmail account but they are not there!! Can I import my contacts from my phone via computer if I cannot see the screen?
I have a vx8700 and i've tried to get bitpim to see the phone.Previously a couple of years ago before I reimaged my machine I had this working. I was able to access the file system and change my ringtone and what not. Now I can't get it to work.So I've tried to use the blue tooth method but when I move the vcf files over it gives me the finger saying the file is invalid...which it shouldn't be as i works fine on the shine. So anyways - whats the best way to move this information over from the old phone to the new one?

I stupidly deleted a really important memo pad file, and i really need it back now. Does anyone know if the file will still exsist somewhere in the phone? or do i have to take it to a shop to get it back?
Just like most on the forums around the net, having serious issues with BB encrytption of jpg's. BB stopped working and transfered all 400 pictures off of it o my Mac. I could not view the .jpg.rem images on my Mac, however I figured I would let it lie based on most of the posts. Got back my BB and transfered the images back onto the BB and all I see are image files with hourglasses? Tried turning off and on encryption, tried renaming and transfering files, emailing them, switching folders and just about every possible combination...to the point where I see that the "damaged or corrupted" error.
My boyfriend also has a blackberry torch, he was changing the settings on one of his picture files and his phone crashed. When the phone re-loaded, the file had gone! We have tried searching for the file on the phone and the names of the pictures in the file, but no luck please tell me there is a way to try and get this file back, as there was some sentimental pictures in the file and I would love to get them back.
