Oct 21, 2012My battery and phone are now acting weirdly. My battery drains after five minutes and I'm losing home screen when it tilts on side. do ineed a new phone or battery or what?

Galaxy S6 :: Phone Will Get Mildly Hot And Battery Will Drain Rapidly
Jul 6, 2015I've used them before when rooting a previous phone. I have a problem with my new S6. I got it about three weeks ago, and I love it. The only problem I have is the incredibly short battery life. There has to be a problem with my phone, because I'll have a battery life of about 5 hours on a good day, but usually 2 or 3. The phone will get mildly hot, and all battery will drain rapidly. I will regularly lose ~40-50% in an hour after it starts heating up.
I've been simply dealing with it for a while, after a failed attempt to find a solution on Google. I regularly close my apps, and I even have powersaver on at all times now. Last night, I closed all apps, then restarted my phone. It was at 98 when I fell asleep. I woke up 9 hours later and it was dead. I have checked the battery info a couple times, but I don't ever see anything rapidly draining battery.

Jan 18, 2011my battery been draining really badly without even using it a lot during day facebook twitter etc its dead by time comes on which is 7am tilll 6pm and i got to charge it every night, i am checked to see if any apps working in the background but looks like there isnt unless its hidden somewhere running in the background, can anyone help me on this as its doing my nut in now battery draining every day is there some kind off battery app out there on the store so i can find this hidden app draining my battery down?

Oct 11, 2012I have a strange problem with my 9810. Yesterday I pulled out my phone from charging at 7:AM (100%). I put it on GPRS , because i didn't did any browsing on that day and to see how much my battery will last. So after a few phones, sms, emails, I was down to 80% by 10PM. Was very happy with what I saw. In background were running Accuweather and Facebook with update once every 3 hours. Also I have Battery Bost MAX, and an application which shows me battery icon with procentage.(Smart Blndie). I am in an area with good signal. Put the phone in the holster, and went to bed. I was very courios to see what the battery shows. At 6 AM i was shocked : 42%... I can't blame it on the applications, because if there were their fault, my battery should discharge the same over day... GPS is off, wifi is off. The phone has 2 weeks (almost new). I am runing 7.1.0.658 OS.. My screen is at 10%, and turn off over 20 seconds...

Nov 15, 2012For the past week or so my Torch has been having rapid battery drains from about 50% where it beeps and says "battery depleted, switching off" and turns itself off!
Sometimes it wont turn back on until plugged into the charger, while others it will turn back on again after a while, and shows 50% battery again. But if you try and do anything like use the camera, surf the net or go on facebook, it turns off again. The fact it still shows 50% just before 'draining' and again when turned on tells me this is not a real problem with the battery but something to do with software?
I have tried restarting the phone, turning it off and doing battery pulls, doing battery pulls while it's turned on or while its turned on and plugged into the charger
I have disabled the compression storage option, checked my CPU usage which seems normal (nothing is running using a lot of CPU), deleted apps which I thought may be causing the issue (with reboots in between), no apps are open in the background running all the time...
Recently App world asked me to do an upgrade to 4.0.0.63. When I did this, the App world icon had disappeared from my phone (not hidden or anything, it was visable in application management, but the icon was nowhere on the phone). I found a forum which suggested I re-downgrade back to app world version 4.0.0.55 to solve this issue. That is what I did, and the app world icon reappeared.
Since these app world updates, this is when the battery drain issue on my phone has been occuring.My phone Blackberry OS is: 9800/6.0.0.246
I am in Australia, so not sure if this affects any OS updates or anything. who knows anything about the best way to resolve this issue. Having an unreliable phone is frustrating, and very inconveneient when out with no charger (no one wants to have to carry their charger everywhere, nor should they.

Dec 15, 2011I upgraded my Torch (9800) a week ago, and have been noticiing battery drain issues. The problem is NOT persistent, but is happening most of the times though. I am currently on OS v6.0 bundle 3049 (v6.0.0.706, platforn 6.6.0.246). My Wifi and Bluetooth are always OFF. Only using the Bell network, for which I have all the 5 bars available.

I have investigated further, and I found that the Blackberry System Software was the one running with the highest CPU - usually in the high 70s, to even high 90s. And this was consistent over hours, until the battery was dead. I have since removed any apps I suspecpected - such as Nice Office and LinkedIn. But the problem still persists.
Battery pull has been done multiple times, as well as I have checked, and there are are no OS updates available.
Now, currently, only the basic apps are loaded (Alt-Back) : Home, Messages, BBM, Phone, Borwser. All other apps are closed or exited.
Investigating further into the modules within the BB System Software, I have found that the net_rim_io_impl, is the one consuming ALL of the CPU. I am not sure where/what this module does - so I am unclear on what service within the BB I can turn OFF to get rid of the issue.the CPU for the System drops a bit, as Options uses up some, else, it goes back to 90s, if left alone with either a fix to the module, or else, via some workaround, wherein some service can be stopped or some setting can be changed to avoid this battery drain.

Jun 21, 2012A few days later I noticed the battery was going from 100% to 0% in a few hours only, so I went in the first week to change the battery and did that and it used to work well until a few days ago where the battery goes from 100% to 0% in less than an hour. I do use the browser and twitter alot, but still I think the battery should stay more than that.

After reading this forum, I have done all the necessary "tricks" to try and limit the battery draining, including:
-Resetting all settings.
-Rebooting the phone.
-Putting the screen brightness down to half.
-Stopping my emails pushing (now only fetch every hour).
-Turning off Background App Refresh.
-Only making iCloud back up Contacts, Calendars and Photos. Â
I have fully charged my phone and have nothing in the background, yet after 5 minutes my usage had upped by 2 minutes and my standby upped by 5 minutes.
I didn't do anything with the phone but 1 text message came through.Â
Sometimes my phone will go all the way down quite quickly to something like 30% but when I plug it in to charge, it shoots straight back up to what it was at.
Early I was flicking through Facebook, only reading status and watching a couple of short videos and my percentage shot down by like 40% in 5 odd minutes.
Facebook really drains the battery I think, along with watching short videos on Facebook.Â
My phone is less than 2 years old so its abit of a joke if I need a new battery already... I've been looking at the iPhone 6 when it comes out but this has put me right off.Â
