Text message icon went suddenly missing from home screen after setting up mail account. Screen only has messages icon and clicking that takes to email messages.

Now when i go to Setup and E-mail accounts it only gives me the option of setting up Yahoo, Gmail, Windows Live, Other and create new adressIt used to ask me here whether i want to setup a Internet Account or Enterprise Account. So how do i setup a BES account now on my device?I did delete all the service books related to my BES account that was on the device as i thought that would've deleted the actual account but i didn't so i had to do the security wipe?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just "upgraded" from my 9700 to a 9900 with OS7 (remains to be seen if it feels like an upgrade when I get everything finally sorted). Mostly it seems fine after some difficult first days.A small but weird thing. On OS6, in the top bar of the home screen I would get alert symbols for Mail, SMS, BBW upgrades, BBM upgrades, Twitter, etc. If I clicked on the top bar, a page would open where I could see the top of my email box, the top of my SMS box, etc etc.
The same thing happens on OS7, BUT for some reason now my email inboxes do not appear (the "new message" symbol appears, but the inbox is not on the detail page that opens); same for BB, same for SMS. When I click that bar, the only content which appears on the more detailed page is my calendar and Twitter.I thought maybe there might be a setting which determines which content appears on that detail page and which does not, but the only manageable element of the home screen now appears to be the panels ticklist.
I have updated to the Torch from the Storm2 but have some questions. How do I delete icons off of the homescreen and off of the phone. I have inadvertently set up too many e-mail addresses and want to simplify. I added to the home screen but don't know how to get rid of them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Keyboard Lock Icon was on the Home Screen till I installed the updates that were sent to me today on my BB. Now that Icon has disappeared. Checked the Help Section and could only find out how to lock or unlock screen manually. Checked the instruction booklet that came with it....again no help. Searched through the BB Curve Demo online - still nothing about adding back the icon. It was so easy just to push that button and not have to worry about the keys in my pocket or purse.....how do i get it back? If I dont want it back I wont install updates any longer because I found I had ro reset things back the way I wanted them to.....moving icons from folders to home screen etc....please tell me there is a way to get this back....just bought this BB in June and first one i have owned and have come to find it difficult to do without..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated my 9550's OS to the leaked .428 and the transition was fine besides one issue. The e-mail icon is stuck on my screen. I've read a few threads with this issue and tried every fix they had, nothing has worked. I think I've found the cause of the issue, but don't have a resolution. When I loaded the OS, I had two new Facebook messages. When the OS loaded, the OS recognized them as e-mails until I activated the Facebook app. When it loaded, the Facebook icon popped up on the homescreen, but the e-mail icon didn't disappear.
Some steps I've taken to try to resolve the issue:
1) Check all message locations, including SMS, MMS, BBM, e-mails, etc. There are no new messages anywhere.
2) Deleted both e-mail accounts from my phone, didn't take it away.
3) Backed up my data and wiped/restored.
4) Deleted Facebook as an app, then backed up the data and wiped/restored. Even without Facebook as an app the e-mail icon is still there.
5) Went to Options, Advanced Options, Host Routing Table, Register Now.
6) Went to Options, Advanced, Service Book, deleted my e-mail from there.
I have read numerous threads but have not been able to get clear answers to these questions. I'm on the fence about picking up the N1,
1. Does the mail client allow you to create an icon for a specific email account on the main screen? I'm looking for something similar to my Blackberry where I have icons for each of the email accounts that the phone is monitoring. I don't care for the iphone where you have to click through the email client to bring up a different email account.
2.How is the media player?I hope to replace my ipod touch with the N1.I mostly listen to long MP3s of radio shows and have to frequently use my finger to FFW 10 or so minutes within a file that is 6 hours long. I finally got used to doing this on the touch, and I am hoping that the interface on the N1 would also allow such fine skipping within such a large file.
3.Is it any good for playing movies?
4.Does the email client let you specify an email check period? The smallest period on the iphone is 15 minutes, but I would like to enter a smaller value to help ease the transition from Blackberry push email if I were to make the switch to the N1.

All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

When I tap on it, my desktop messages open instead?it used to work fine when I first got the phone. The only way I can write a text is to select a contact from the contacts list and then select to send that person a text message. This all works but is a pain. I'm sure this is just finger trouble and a setting has been changed somewhere but where.

I just received my new Blackberry Torch 9810 and can not loging to my blackberry ID account. That is exactly what it says every time I try "Unable to login to your Blackberry ID account". I have called Rogers 3 times, tried talking to the guys in a Rogers store and have reset my password online twice. On my phone I can not even get into the prompts to change anything in the section for "Blackberry ID".

When it finished the restart, the screen saver came up normally, but the touch screen just quit working. I know there are issues w/Torch TS. Just thought perhaps it malfunctioned because I deleted my email account.

Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

After re-booting the phone, my App World icon was suddenly missing from my home screen. It was not on my Download screen either. I could also not find it when doing a search for App World. I re-installed App World from the Blackberry website. I still had the same problem. Then a friend suggested that I un-install App World by Settings: Device: Application Management: Blackberry App World - and selecting delete in Options. I did this - and then re-installed App World AGAIN on my phone from the website. And still the problem persists. Do I actually have App World on my phone or not? If I do have it on my phone, how and where do I find the icon - so I can place it on my home screen.
