I bought two unlocked BB Storms from two diffrent places. Neither one of them will turn on. I bought new batteries and still they will not come on. I can not return these phones and I need them please can anyone tell me what might be wrong.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased an unlocked BB Storm 2 (original Verizon USA) to use in India. It can only receive SMS on Vodafone India network. No incoming-outgoing call. It works fine on Airtel, Idea etc in India. Vodafone India blames the phone and the phone vendor (in USA) blames the network. I used another Vodafone SIM also - did not work.

It says I shuld contact to my service provider or something like that so I cant use network on my storm.I contaced my service provider in Estonia also (Tele2 Estonia) and they said they can't do nothing because they dont have experiences with Blackberry. So I dont know what I should do to use network on my phone?Also my browser is lost in menu.. only in "switch application" mode I can use browser but it doesnt work.

The Home Screen says INSERT SIM and SOS but under Mobile Network Options the Mobile Network is AT&T searched everywhere and getting discouraged
Need to replace my wife's Storm 2 which died last week. Don't want to go to a new device as she loses her current unlimited data plan if she switches to an HSPA device, and she was ok with her Storm 2 before.
OK with a good used one, though I know she'd prefer new. Telus doesn't sell them any more, and they're $200+ on eBay - that was a shock, considering I can get a new 9860 for $600!
Any suggestions on other sage places to buy, and what price I can expect? We're in Vancouver so Canadian shipping is mandatory, and she'd like a replacement ASAP so a Vancouver purchase would be ideal.
Just bought an unlocked blackberry storm. My service sim card is cincinnati bell. My sim card offers text, phone, email and internet. The phone works with texting and phone calls recieved and sent. I have no internet or email. Not even a browser icon can be found on the phone.

Its now on AT&Ts Network and I talked to them about it they made it out to be that I needed a data plan. So they signed me up and I thought all was fixed. But I soon realized that was not the case. I cant even select to compose MMS text. I now have unlimited messaging and am on their BB data plan.
I have looked up on a lot of forums on what could be the problem and have d/l the service books and registered the HRTs and did a battery pull without any luck. I have noticed that I do not the MMS service books (MMS Client and MMS Transport). I was curious as to why I don't have them and if I could get them. Also during my last update (V5.0.0.328 Platform 4.2.0.128) I noticed I lost my browser icon. Was that supposed to happen or did I mess something up?

Brought my first BB yesterday,a Storm 2 as I hated my iphone - however my BB days could be numbered as first impressions are not so good !Got it unlocked through Vodaphone onto the Orange network as my Iphone contract still has 20 months to go !I cannot connect to the internet unless I am at home and connect through my wifi ?I get "This is a wifi service.Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again "Is this one of many problems that I will get as i am on orange and not Voda ?Also can the memory be increased for music etc ?

I just want be able to call and get calls. Am I missing something? The phone was from Verizon. I unlocked it but when I restore connections, it still says verizon wireless as the network, even with my ATT sim card installed.

I bought an unlocked BB Storm 2 9550 from India (to be fair, it is a US Verizon BB Storm 2 9550 which has been unlocked). I used it for a week while I was in India on an Indian service provider (Airtel) and everything (email, bb messenger, browser, apps, etc) worked fine - the top right corner showed EDGE. It worked fully well in India.
Then I came to UK a few days ago and put my Vodafone UK sim in it; I sent the registeration request from the Host Routing Table menu (which was confirmed). I even registered my email on mobileemail.vodafone.net. Now the email is working fine and so is the BB Messenger. BUT I am unable to use the internet such as through the browser and the apps (facebook, bloomberg, time magazine, etc.). The top right corner says 3G (and sometimes GSM when I am on a call).I have spoken several times to the Vodafone tech staff and in the end they said that there was nothing they could do.
On the Vodafone tech staff's suggestions I have tried: deleting and reinstalling the service books (except provisioning), several battery pulls, I even tried putting back the old OS .320 (I currently have the leaked .428 version installed - in India my blackberry worked well on both versions).
Additional notes: I do not have the Vodafone Live! icon in my menu, My browser settings only show "hotspot browser" - there is no option as "internet browser" - I am guessing that will only appear when the bb internet starts working.I hope that is all the information you need.I will be very grateful if you can help me start the internet/gprs on my phone!
I have Verizon 9550 Storm 2. Before the unlocking the 3G and WiFi both have worked fine ! After the unlocking the Internet on my phone did stop work ! The WiFi connection pass fine but when I start the browser and try to open some site there is appear the message:
