BB Storm :: Contact List Won't Sync
Feb 18, 2011old storm 1 worked great up until the key board on the phone quit. went to verizon, they couldn't fix it and so i got a new storm2. that is where the trouble started. they down loaded the contact list to the new phone and for some reason everything appeared 4 times. they couldn't fix and after a lot of hell and a wipe of my desktop manager and a new download i have managed to erase the contacts from my phone. however, now the contact list on the phone will not come up and of course the sync still doesn not happen. it shows to be syncing but it always quits with 2 remaining and i get the dreaded error message and then the manager shuts down. the calendar did sync finally and that is working. the emails work and i can make a call as long as i remember the number. i have turned off the picture sync as the forums said that could be the problem.

Apr 9, 2010Recently I changed jobs and as a result I used crackutil to remove my old companies (BES) IT policy from my BB.The new company activated via wireless activation (BES) and now I have 2 "desktop" contact lists. I am trying to sync with lotuc notes but cant as only the 2nd desktop list will sync. my original contacts are in the other desktop list and will not sync. I have tried going to contacts > options> typing rset and it deletes the lists but i cant get them to load from back up into one list.

Jul 7, 2010Trying to get My Contacts out of my Storm to Verizon Backup Assistance THRU THE COMPUTER(not over the airwaves). Anyone successful in doing this?
I can access the phone but contacts do not come up in BROWSE feature of Backup assist. Also it can't seem to pull them in thru a BB Manager recent back up.
Screen is cracked and I can't call *228 to (re)activate the phone to do Back up Assist thru the phone the normal way.
BB Storm 9530/9500 :: Contact List Wireless Synchronization Not Available?
Feb 19, 2010I had to reinstall my OS a couple weeks ago. I installed the official 5.0.0.328 from Verizon, and now for some reason, my contact lists aren't syncing with my Gmail account. I went into the settings to try to enable it, but the option is grayed out (it says that Wireless Synchronization is Not Available). What happened, and how do I fix my problem? I appreciate any help. BTW I have two GMail accounts on my phone so I don't want to use Google Sync.

Feb 23, 2010My company is requiring me to migrate to Outlook which requires a reset for my BB where I have to wipe the Storm and start all over. I've done this in the past with no trouble, but this time we're transitioning to Outlook, and I'm hearing from numerous colleagues that it DOES empty my Contacts and replaces them with what Contacts I have within Outlook - which is about 5% of what I have in my BB Contact List. I need to do this today. Can anyone help me in understanding how to access and at least print the list so that I know how to keep it? Also, I backed up my BB on Desktop Manager last night, just in case, but when I try to search for the Contact info I couldn't find anything.

Aug 15, 2011Prior to having an android phone, I was using some other "not so smart" phone, and all of my contacts were handled through Backup Assistant. Now I have my android phone (DX2) and want to move all of my contacts to my Gmail account instead of Backup Assisitant. I am planning on leaving Verizon and going with another android phone, on Sprint. If I don't want to re-enter approximately 500 contacts (498) manually, I need to sync all of my contacts to gmail. There had been an app for that, but Verizon took it out of the market.

Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.

I use the Storm's calendar as my client scheduling tool -- I NEED to know when I last saw clients for my quarterly and year end reports. I use Nice Office as a CRM and backup -- but when I asked them, they looked into the sync and said the delete was coming from the BB itself, not from them. I do not use Outlook, as I don't run on Windows.

Aug 9, 2010I have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

Oct 7, 2015Since updating to the latest version of the software about a week ago, my contacts have cloned themselves. I now have well over 100 entries for each individual contact. Contacts and messaging now takes up to a minute to open and the contacts are impossible to use. I have 2 gmail accounts, 1 activesync, 1 outlook.com account along with facebook contacts set to sync. It was all working well until the a few days ago.

Context:I have 2 primary sources of contact information on my blackberry, my personal (gmail contacts) and my work contacts (via google apps). I would like to keep these contact lists separate and apart from one another, but accessible if required. However, as this device is primarily for work, I'd like to not have my personal contacts appearing every time i open the Contacts app. The effect I am trying to achieve is after opening contacts --> click menu --> click "Select Contact List..." --> and choosing one.Is there a way to save this as a preference/default so I don't have to filter each time i open my contact list?
