BB Curve 8900 :: Phone Not Registering On Computer
Jul 2, 2010My phone won't register when I hook it up to the USB port on my laptop. I haven't had any issues before, and the last thing that happened to my phone was that I updated the OS to the latest version (5.0.0.681). I did this on Monday and tried to hook my phone to my computer yesterday (first time since update). It wasn't recognized and I messed around with it for a while. I eventually did something that got it to work, but I disconnected it and since then, I haven't been able to re-hook it up. When I do hook it up, my phone charges, but my computer doesn't realize it's there.

How can I manipulate these numbers easily on my Mac computer? I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac and have backed up the contacts (as a bbb file, I think). But still finding it difficult to actually see the phone numbers and manipulate them on my computer.

May 20, 2011I have a Curve 8900 with no SIM card that I am using strictly off-line and via Wi-Fi.(No Cellular connection)When I plug it into my computer with a USB cable, it syncs email, contacts and calendar with no problems at all.However, when I try to transfer music, pictures or videos to or from the BB, I get a message saying "A problem occurred while attempting to connect to your BlackBerry device." It then offers the "Troubleshoot my connection" link.If I go into the "Device Options" section of the Desktop Software, I can check the "Organizer" or "My computer's date and time..." boxes under "Synchronize" but the "Media" box is grayed out and cannot be checked.

Consisting of:

After it rebooted. I add more applications without setting the language in my handheld first. And this is where the problem begin. The screen is just stuck with the page to choose language to be used in handheld and cannot be navigated at all. I also cannot connect it to my computer. I tried battery pulled and let the battery run out then pull and recharge again. It always come up with the same screen.

Oct 25, 2011I've removed the battery and replaced it numerous times. Yesterday, my daughter bought a new battery, did not solve my problemI've searched this site as intensely as I can over the course of 2 1/2 days.I am retired on disability pension. When I can't get to my laptop, my BlackBerry is my only connection to help if I need it.Day before yesterday, I was on the browser when the phone froze. I did a soft reboot, the screen went black, and the phone has not come back on since. The light in the upper right corner blinks red once, pauses, blinks 3 times in a row, then pauses for a few more seconds before repeating the sequence.The phone will not show "connected" to either BlackBerry Desktop Manager nor to my laptop. I've been through a couple of "troubleshooting" flow charts but they all require that my phone "connect" to continue with the flow chart instruction but the phone will not "connect".

Mar 20, 2011I've had my BB 8900 for 1 week and I'm already thinking it is the single worst thing I've ever purchased.I've got the problem whereby I cannot download apps from BBAW (18 icon and skysports - one paid for, the other free). I've tried every fix found on forums and from google'ing the problem. What works for some is not working for me. I'm getting the error "There was a problem during installation. try again" Then:Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server. Verify your network connections and try again." BBAW then closes and nada.I've tried updating my BB, changing me BB id, paypal logon, resetting the BBAW using the ALT RST thingy, tried wireless on, wireless off, turning all connections off, restarting the device, hard reset, soft reset, logging out of BBAW, closing the app etc. Tried all the KB's found online and un/reinstallign BBAW. I've googled this for the last 3 days, constantly. Is there anything else I can try before I smash what started to be a great phone into pieces on the back of the useless BBAW.

Jan 3, 2010I have had my blackberry curve 8900 for about 4 months now and I still can not download the app world for it. I have tried and tried and keep getting the same message half way through the download saying "Download Failed. 907 Invalid COD". I contacted my service provider who said they had sorted and I was to turn my phone off for an hour and switch it back on and I should be able to download it. I done this and 3 hours later I am still getting the same message. I have even tried removing the battery and sim card but this does not work either.

Did the download, BUT!!! it deleted all my e-mails! then I found that when I went to do a text message, the screen now displays an old previous message over most of the screen with just one line left on the bottom to write in, it also has the stupid smiley face icon at the end of the line which I hate. BB Curve 8900 :: Get Jad File Download For Automated Install?
Jul 3, 2010I've downloaded the trial version of Beejive and want to install it. I am using OS 4.6.1.231 and am using the latest Blackberry Desktop program (v5.0.1). The instructions to install Beejive say to connect my BB to my comp and choose the application loader to add Beejive. I then "Browse" to the alx file and click on it.Fine. I do all that and then click on "next." I then see that I will I be reinstalling all the programs that have check marks by them. I decide I just want to install Beejive only so I go back and untick the apps I want to leave alone but there is only "remove" or "install" and that unticking one would result in its removal. Is installing Beejive through BB Desktop the only way to get it to work? Is there no way to go to get a jad file and download that for an automated install?
