My son called me on a different number to the one already stored on my phone and i want to add it to his name, short of going back to the 90's and writing it down and then physcially adding it to his name i can't see any other way of doing this.BB Pearl 9100 t-mobile.

First name: AMobile: 11Mobile: 22Telephone: 33Telephone: 44
When I open Ovi Suite / Contacts / Contacts in E51 and open the abovementioned contact "A" it shows:
AMobile: 11Telephone: 44Mobile (other): 22As you see it deleted one of "Telephone" labeled numbers. It also happened when I used PC suite.
It is really annoying as if I save/sync the contact using Ovi, it causes loss of contacts data.BTW there is no problem using Backup/Restore function of Ovi/PC suite, nor "Copy to memory card" function of the phone itself.

The lady at the phone store wasn't able to retrieve the numbers, but told me to get on here and it would work if I hook a cord up to the phone. The SIM had many contacts with multiple phone numbers (mobile number, house number.etc) under a single name, but when I viewed it on xperia ray , it shows duplicate names but with different numbers under the Mobile category. Is there a way to merge these names and bring all the different numbers into Mobile, House, Others etc under one name.I searched and found some answers for "Merging" but all were referring to merging different names with common phone numbers, but what I need is just the opposite. My problem is that instead of one phone number for any given contact, there may be up to 30 of the same phone number! If there is a cell and home, both will be duplicated. What a pain! I do use mobileme but have not started on the cloud yet. Any ideas how this can happen? I showed them my iphone 4 (IOS 5.1.1) at the Verizon store and the rep said she never saw anything like that before. I live two hours from the nearest apple store.

Check under Settings > iCloud to see if the Contacts switch is ON (green side showing). If it's already on, switch it off for 30-60 seconds, then back on again. Your contacts should start showing up shortly...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the E90 communicator hooked up to pc with pc suite and ovi.I have almost 2000 contacts and most of them have multiple numbers saved under the same name.These numbers have often the same type (mobile or telephone for example)When exporting these contacts using PC suite i'm loosing some numbers from contacts which have several numbers with the same type.
Further more i've the problem that the exported vCard can only store 6 number (3 private mobile, telephone and fax and 3 business) in its property, while i'm having contacts with over 10 numbers.Is it possible to export a contact having 10 numbers without losing one of them?
