BB Desktop Software :: How To Install Software From Disc That Came With The Phone?
Apr 16, 2010
I am trying to install the software from the disc that came with the phone, and I have also tried downloading it and installing it that way and still no luck. I am using Windows XP. I get the following:
The InstallShield Wizard pops up and says
Status: Pending Requirement: Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP1
and when I click Install, at first it says
Status: Downloading
And then an error message pops up:
while downloading the file http://saturn.installshield.com/prerequisites/microsoft .net framework 2.0 sp1.prq. What would you like to do? Retry or Cancel.
If I click Retry it just does the same thing over and over again. If I click cancel, the message changes to:
An error occurred while downloading the file http:..download.microsoft.com/download/0/8/c/08c19fa4-4c4f-4ffb-9d6c-150906578c9e/NetFX20SP1_x86.exe. What would you like to do? Retry or Cancel
Again, Retry just repeats the message. The final message after clicking Cancel again reads:
The files for installation requirement Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download. Yes or No
I've just loaded my blackberry user tools disc on my laptop. Now its asking for my devise password, however its not excepting my password. Has it set it back to the factory settings?
When ever I reboot my BB Storm 2 I get an 'Uncaught exception: Index 10>=10' error message. Consequently many of my core apps are disappearing and then reappearing again. Can anyone tell me what this means and what I need to do? I have an iBook G4 V:10.4 laptop so I'm unable to utilise the info disc that came with the phone. Instead I use Missing Sync for BlackBerry which is somewhat limiting.
Can anyone advise how to install the desktop for a BB Pearl Flip? Is it any different from any of the other phones? I read something about it needing a Media Card?
I have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install. I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM. After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up: a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors. then the installer closes. the installer closes out and will not continue. the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.
I received a notification that I needed to update the Desktop software to v5.0.1 2010-03-25 and so downloaded the 250MB file. When I clicked on install, after a few seconds I received the message "There was an error installing updates. Click here to see the updates that have not been installed". This download process has happened a couple of times. I have tried and tried to run the installation, but keep getting the same message.
I then checked the version of my BB Desktop software and found that it was 5.0.1.18 [Aug 21 2009]. The update notification is therefore for a newer version, or so it seems. Can anyone help with reasons why it wont install, or give me some pointers how to get round whatever is preventing the installation. I don't want to have to keep downloading 250 mb files every night if I can help it.
I have had a Blackberry 8100 for a while. All worked well with my old Pentium 4. I have moved ovet to an i7 processor and Windows 7. I have read a few messages on here and have corrected the USB power problem. I have downloaded and installed Drivers DM4.5_B13 and now the connection is seen by DM. I have a problem now that some of the program is in English and some is in another language! I'm guessing it's Arabic or similar. Things like Microsoft Outlook Takvim and in the fields section one side says Title and the other says Unvan or Address on one is Eposta Adres.
I've spent a week trying to get the desktop manager to detect my curve 8530 to no avail My pc windows xp professional detects it but not the manager Ive tried what i could find on blackberry forums as well as my providers support forums and nothings worked is there anything else i can do.
So I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook. So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).
While trying to fix an "App Error 523 reset" problem, I came across a (seemingly) very helpful post on this forum. However, I got stuck on step one because I have not yet used the Desktop Manager, and cannot figure out how to get past the initial DM welcome screen with my broken phone. My phone won't currently connect to DM because the phone can't properly start up. I need to get into Desktop Manager to access the Application Loader to fix my app error 523 problem.
I have accidentally removed the facebook desktop widget. I cant find it again to install it. It doesnt appear in the app manager. Can someone please tell me how to install it again?
I just got my new Torch and was updating it to the newest softwear, and it has frozen during the install step. It has been stuck on this section for the past 4 hours. It says not to disconnect the device or interupt the process as it could make the device unusasble. What can I do ?
I have been trying for days to install the desktop software for my Blackberry 8350i. I have an HP G60 with Windows 7. I have tried even installing the older software and it is still now working. I keep getting the "The wizard was interrupted before BB Desktop Software could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
Hi there I LOST ALL languages I am using with my blackberry after I installed the OS it says i have to use desktop manager to install the desired language. but its all in EXE format nothing in DMG which is for mac.I really need to install other langauges and I cannot seem to have access t o windows at all?
I have a BB Bold 9650 and am using Outlook 2007. I had no problems syncing until yesterday when Desktop Mgr 6.0.0.40 got installed. Now I get Intellisync Error - unknown error reported. If I can't get this to work soon, I will need to back off the new software.
I'm writing from Austria, Europe. I just got my BlackBerry Curve 8900 few days ago, everything's fine, I like it a lot. I've got just a problem with the desktop manager software. I installed it through the CD delivered with my BlackBerry and got the newest version of the software through the internet as well. But somehow, when I open the Media Manager Section, I got a button to install the Media Manager, and when I click on it, it doesn't work. I tried it several times already, but I alsways get a notification, that there's a problem and I have to put the user tools CD or try it when I'm connected to the internet. I put the CD and I'm also always connected to the internet, but it doesn't work. So I can't put any media files into my BlackBerry.
Installing DTM 6.0, downloaded from the web, for the first time on a Windows 7 (64-bit) Lenovo laptop consistently fails with error 1935 well into the install. Tried installing as Administrator, but that did not help.
I am a user of the Blackberry Desk Top Manager, running under Windows XP Service Pack 4.5. I recently downloaded the latest version of Desk Top Manager and I am getting the following error: - Flashing intermittently, whilst running the newly downloaded Desktop Manager - "Windows Installer Preparing to Install". I have removed the programme, downloaded it again from Blackberry's website and run my Windows updates to no available. I have now been advised that I must format my entire computer and reload Windows, which seems to be a rather onerous solution, as I have been using Blackberry's Synchronisation Programme for over a year successfully before this took place.
Loaded software for BB Bold 9780 all OK until I try to open software Icon. I have a Rim.Desktop.exe Application error pop up. Saying Application has generated an exception that could not be handled..Process ID =0xf34 (3892). Thread ID=0xf38 (3896) it offers a solution to debug but then throws up... No registered JIT debugger was specified click to retry or cancel and that's as far as I can go...
I have just bought X2-00 and found that it creates new BGSA_upload file every time I reboot the phone. How to delete it ? don't make it appear again ! I can't find disc in memory card for it
Just purchased my first album on Google music and downloaded for offline listening. I'd like to transfer the album to my PC and then burn a disc. Is this possible? I connected my phone to the computer but couldn't find the album in any of the files. How I can get a CD burned?
I've got a little problem with my nokia X7 since I've updated it to symbian Belle. Sometimes an error window appear with this message "error in the writing of the disc. Retry or data will be lost" an then I've got two buttons "retry" or "Stop" but no matter what I do window doesn't disappered. I tried to re-install Belle but nothing has changed. When I conned microSD to my computer a window appear telling that data in storage are damaged or corrupt but windows can't repair it.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
After many months without problems with synchronization of the organizator, now the data of calendar are not synchronizate becouse the desktop software shows "calendar not install". I donīt now how and where to reinstall or correct this unusual problem.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
Recently I was tasked at work to redesign and office space and attempting to use a program to lay out and then provide a 3d rendering of the proposed space. turned out to be a nightmare for me. I work in a facility that is not updated their computer systems since 2005 I ended up making everything work but I had to do it on my phone. My question without HML support is there any way to turn a smartphone reasonably to function like a desktop PC?
So far all I have found is Microsoft's miracast. Most likely have to buy a bluetooth keyboard mouse.
But I want to know what worked what didn't. My goal would be to plug my phone into my monitor at work so I can actually do something. so HDMI is a must.
I have a Windows 7 PC (64 bits). I have installed today the BB Desktop SW version 6.1.0.36 from BB website. It works fine with my old BB Curve 8900 palm phone, but does not recognize at all my newest BB Curve 9360 palm phone. In particular when I connect the BB device with the microUSB cable to the USB port of the PC, Windows 7 complains to have not installed properly the Device Driver of the BB palm phone. If I look at the PC Device Drivers Management I can see a BlacBerry driver version 4.2.0.14 of 23/06/2011 from research Un Motion.Windows complain that the device type is unknown, all what it says is "Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)".
