blackberry aked to me update my phone when i connected my phone to the blackberry desktop manager and i restored my things. went to start the updat enad now it has finished nothing is working. my contacts have been deleted. i have no sim contacts. phone turn on and off when it wants, i lost all gallery. the scroller ball does not work, so because your company told me to update my phone i have a broken phone that can not even been used!
View 1 RepliesYesterday i tried to update my software to the 7.1.0 (1133) bundle on my blackberry, and ever since then a screen saying "backing up your data" but it doesnt back anything up it just stays at 9%. Due to that i cant use my phone, the signal is off, i cant even go onto my home page. im just stuck to that particular message on my screen. ive taken out my battery like 10x and the same thing will pop up.

Once the messages have been deleted everything is fine, but if I shut the phone down and power up again, all the previous messages that were deleted appear back in my Cox "In" Box. When I add any new songs to my library and then sync, the new song is added to my phone. However, when I delete a song from my library (and computer), that song won't get deleted from my phone after sync. I can manually delete songs on phone from WMP but I would like if I don't have to keep track if the sync works correctly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that my calendar was not syncing with my Google calendar, and went in to settions>accounts and noticed that the sync brower (which was new to me) had stalled and turned the sync circle "red". I then shut off sync browser and rebooted a couple times and my calendar is now synced. Seems that Google is adding feattures as don't recall seeing sync browser.Just curious, is there a webpage that documents or advises updates to this device so that I don't scratch my head each time? The "Apps" do a great job of advising changes, sure would be nice to see changes in the OS.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've upgraded from my original OS to 5.0.0.411 (i think) at the start of the year with no problems. Two days ago I attempted the upgrade to .681 which was fine, but I'm not keen on the update as the UMA isn't working properly, so I want to downgrade.
So last night I managed to get back to the original OS 4.? (I was having probs with a straight forward downgrade to another OS5) and tried to upgrade to the Vodafone Italy (I'm on Orange UK) but it wasn't being recognised with the Desktop Blackberry software (vendor file was deleted), although when I went into the upgrade part on the app loader, it did appear there, but with an asterisk saying I had to be registered with Blackberry to be eligible for the upgrade (or something like that). I attempted the upgrade but the software wouldn't allow it.
I removed that software and tried with the Wind release, but again the desk top software didn't recognise it.I tried the .681 release again and the upgrade worked fine
I would really like to go back to a stable OS where the UMA works. Any ideas how to do it with the Vodafone Italy release? Or am I being blocked somehow as I'm registered to Orange UK? If so does anyone have a link to download another earlier release that is stable and not carrier associated?

When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
