I am a consultant and have a client that has a BB Curve. He has been using a certain provider inet for his email. He has now changed to a different provider (for technical reasons). I have tried to setup his new email account for the new provider - I also use a BB curves and have performed this operation for over 50 of my clients. However in this scenario, the Curve keeps asking for his account id and password. We have tried to enter it and it says that the Username cannot be blank. If we exit and re-enter the setup tool, and then enter the same info again, it says that the username and/or password is incorrect. His credentials have never - ever changed.
We cannot get his password (or acct info) sent to him by BB (RIM), because he no longer has the email address of record. Of course I tried entering a different email address to send it to, but of course it doesn't get to his phone as there is no eamil address setup (except his old one). The provider here in town (TELUS) has been quite useless in helping and have been quite specific that we need to talk to RIM, well of course this seems to be the only avenue available. Can someone direct us to the appropriate area or resource in order to proceed with setting up his new email account.
I bought my first BlackBerry (Curve 3G 9300) on Friday and tried to setup a personal email account on the phone via the setup wizard earlier today. The phone said that an update to 6.11...... was needed in order to do this. I let it update, now the phone is just hanging after starting up. If I do a start up after removing the battery it comes up with a black screen with the BlackBerry logo and a progress bar below it. The progress bar moves along until the end, this takes around a minute. It then shows something like a little clock over the logo for about a second. Once this disappears the phone says with the logo and the completed progress bar - and just hangs there.

I access my emails from work thru a VPN. I purchased a Curve 8520 cause I understood I could receive my emails on my smartphone. I set up my personal emails, which are working fine. But, I can't figure out how to set up my VPN settings for an email account on the 8520. Co-workers who have other smartphones(not Berries) and connect.

It's possible to use a 3rd party email app on my 9300. The problem I have found is that the 3rd party app wants the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server. I don't have that information, and when I asked vodafone, they told me tocontact Blackberry (and very kindly sent me a contact number for Blackberry, which didn't work). Is it not possible in the UK to use third party email apps?
I'm trying to setup my email account on the computer I Select my wireless service provider whitch is o2(uk) limited and get the welcome to blackberry log in page my device is turned on and is connected to the wireless network. I just updated the software on my blackberry last Saturday (March 3), and I haven't received any emails since. I have went to Setup> Email Accounts and entered in my password to verify my account and it brings me to a screen that says "Sorry, unable to continue your session. Please log in again." Once I press OK it takes me back to the Setup main screen.
When I purchased my Curve 3g about a year ago, I setup my email account like normal and it worked fine over this past year. Recently I had to change my email password on the computer, and it caused my blackberry to no longer be able to send or receive my emails. So I went back into setup and went to the email set up so that I could change my password on my phone, but when I click the "Email Accounts" button in set up, it doesn't go anywhere. All of the other setup icons work except the email one.
i cannot add another email account when i go to email set up it tells me 'if you want to access your email settings or you changed your device, log in.' it doesnt give me the option to add another account.
I bought recently a Blackberry curve 3G, without knowing I started the installation; now I see I clicked the wrong email selection. I clicked "Enterprise account" but I need "internet Mail Account". I don't know and don't find anywhere where I can go back and switch to the right account.
I recently got a new Blackberry and wanted to setup my email, by doing this on a new phone my email account assumed it was being hacked so shut down! I have now created a new email account, but am unable to set it up on my blackberry. On the setup menu it still has my old email address and asks for the password, which I type in but as the accounts deactivated doesn't connect! Therefore I am stuck not being able to add a new email address to my phone.
I bought a Curve 8520 today, and I want to set it up to access my existing AOL email account. Is this possible? How do I do it? and why do I keep being asked for an Enterprise Server password/code - what is it and where do I find it. Also, while we're getting all techy, my son has a curve and he has fb, twitter yahoo etc on his download icon, but I don't.
I got my first BB (8520) two weeks ago, and I still have not managed to get the email and MMS setup. If I go to messages, there is only SMS and email, no MMS options.. And when I try to set the email there is only the Enterprise option, I wanna set it up with my gmail.
I am unable to receive any picture messages?? I am also unable to set up a personal email account through blackberry its only giving me the option of a works email??
Just taken delivery of my first Blackberry. I'm trying to configure email for my hotmail account but the only option I'm getting is : "I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server" How do I get the option "Create New Account"?
I just got a Blackberry Bold 9900 yesterday. During the process of trying to set up my outlook email on my phone I accidentally selected setup "Enterprise Email Account" instead of "set up another email account". Now when I go into the setup options and select email accounts it takes me back to the Enterprise setup automatically. I can't find a way to exit that setup and begin the "set up another email" procedure I have tried turning the phone off/on, removing the battery but still automatically takes me to the Enterprise email account setup/login.
Blackberry sent a message it could not authenticate account password and e-mail. It is same account, password and e-mail as it has been for last two years. IT guy says change to Iphone or Android - less interface problems.
Have followed directions to a "T" and it still says "invalid e-mail address or password." IT guy confirms both still same and I can still access e-mail by laptop. In putted server host etc'' just as requested. At a loss as to how to set up e-mail FYI - yahoo and Google set up seamlessly just not with outlook. Have not had issue for past two years.
I cannot set up a particular email which is a yahoo email. I was successfully able to setup other yahoo emails. I remember that this particular email was linked to a former blackberry which was stolen about 19 months ago. Now I have another blackberry on another network service provider and it keeps saying update failed. I am starting to suspect that perhaps the email is still linked to that blackberry ....
I can't setup email function in my new Torch. When I press Setup--> Email Accounts-->Internet Mail Account, the device just jump back to the Setup screen. But it allow setup for Enterprise Account.
