My Curve 8900 went white screen suddenly. Phone still works, but nothing visible on screen. I did a wipe and reload of application software to the latest version using Desktop Mgr to no avail.
I am appauled to say that after not having my blackberry for even a year yet, it has packed up. I have purchased this blackberry from Amazon last christmas and it has been out of use for 5 months now. I cannot even turn the device on now, it barely has the white screen anymore, it pops up for less than a minute, then the device turns itself off. I cannot even back up or restore anything via pc now, it will not turn on! EVEN if the battery is fully charged!
My BB curve 8900 cannot boot up. I pull the battery off and put it in again. It seem that the white screen and clock run forever. I just add some language to our phone via BB desktop manager. It worked well. But, after I turn off BB and pull battery out, then leave it for a while then put battery back, it become booting forever.
my bb8900 is showing white screen when i yook out it from my pocket it is showing connected with BB Desktop i have updated its software as well but issue remains the same only white screen is showing on mobile
People i have problem with my BB 8900,my screen sundely got frozen with white color.I tried to reinstall OS but problem still remains. When I attached it to usb desktop software recognized it.I can receive phone calls but i can't see nothing but blank white screen
I was taking a picture and the screen went totally white. I've tried pulling the battery twice and the blackberry reboot bar runs all the way through and it goes to a white screen again. I can't get it to do anything. I've never had this happen before.
5 months ago my 8900 catches the White Screen of death. This past Saturday night, connected it to laptop and 1 hour later its working fine. Pop the sim back into it. Works fine all day Sunday and Sunday night. At some point between 1am and 8am the screen turned white again. Now its stuck on the white screen but I still receive calls and messages but cant see anything. Tried to pull battery and do a complete wiping as well as a restore of applications. Nothing is working at this point. IDK how it worked Saturday night.
I've had my 8900 for two years. I really love the phone, but around the beginning of December 2010, it started doing something funky. It seems that when I am either talking on the phone for a long period of time (around 15 minutes or so) or in the middle of a movie or while taking a video, the phone will go to a plain white screen, and it is impossible to turn it off or have any other interaction. In short, it freezes on that white screen. At other times, it will power itself off, and it also appears frozen, with no possible interaction. In either case, when I remove the battery for a few minutes and replace it, sometimes it comes back on, and other times I have to plug it into a charger, whether it's a USB cable or AC charger. In any case, I may have started with a full battery, but after this, the battery now only shows three and a half of five battery blocks. This is not limited to the OS, since it happened with the original OS back in December (4.6) and continues to occur now that I have upgraded to OS 5. It seems to be hardware related.
I have a BB Curve 8900. Couple of days back, I left it for charging. In an hour time when I rechecked, there was some issue with display, as it was getting distorted. Post this I did a battery pull. Post that when I restarted, there was a complete white screen, nothing else. The phone is booting up, and calls are coming, (as it is vibrating and ringing, and you can pick call), but the screen is completely white, you cannot see anything else, it is completely white.
I did a complete wipe, and reinstalled the OS(OS version 5), but still it is only showing complete white screen.
My bb curve 8900 freezes with a permanent white screen No icons no indication nothing I have to take it off by removing the battery then when i put back the battery i must put the phone to charge or else the white screen will appear again while rebooting?
My 8900 turns on the red light when I pop the battery in, I press the power button and the screen turns on but just shows white. After letting it power on for a few minutes I call myself (by using a friends phone) and I can answer and talk.
I searched everywhere. The computer can read the PIN #, just in case though I wiped it and reloaded the OS. Bought a T6 screwdriver, took it apart, disconnected then reconnected the display cord then turned it back on and same old white screen.
My Blackberry 8520 curve suddenly hangs giving a white screen and when i restart it - the screen remains white. After i put it into charge - then only a successful start is done. So the only solution as of now i have - is whenever my blackberry hangs - i need to remove the battery - insert it again - and immediately put it into charging via USB/Electric-Power. Even if i re-insert the battery - the white screen comes - unless and until i put it into charging Earlier i was guessing - my battery was weak.
I have a white scrreen on my curve 8900 with clock ticking , Itried everything written in your blog but nothing was solved.lstep.i tried updating through the desktop manager it gives that no software update available for this device.

Bear in mind i cant connect to Blackberry Software Desktop because for some reason it wont recognise my device, i want to state the phone hasnt been dropped and hasnt been near any water, it just randonly went white.
New to this place but recently downloaded apps world to my bb8900 and since then I have an alert icon that is a left downward arrow surrounded by a circle. It has the red/white asteriscs that shows you it`s an alert. Can anyone tell me what it is or means and how can i erase it?
how can i resolve this so my blackberry starts working again i didnt smash it or anything. ive taken the baterry out and sim loads of times and it still shows white it wont let me do anything so i cant dowload any softwares tell me what to do.
I understand lots of people have had the same problem, but I just cannot find a solution which works for my Blackberry 8520!It has a white screen showing nothing, it boots once you put the battery in, and the only way to power it off is to take out the battery, I think it also keeps rebooting.I have replaced the screen - still white screen.I have re-installed the OS - still white screen
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530. Several months ago, during daily use, the screen would all of a sudden go black. A battery pull would solve this problem for a while. Eventually this became more frequent. Symptoms progressed (it seemed that if I set the phone down too quickly it would reset) Finally, the phone would turn on, then go immediately to a white screen where it was undetectable by my computer. I contacted my service provider and they said the phone was toast and (amazingly enough) gave me a free loaner to use for the duration of my contract (all info transfered via an old backup, so nothing was lost) After my new phone was working I left my Curve plugged in at my office. Yesterday as I was leaving I looked at the phone again, and the screen was white and telling me to reload software 507.
I plugged it into my computer to begin the process and to my surprise the computer all of a sudden detected the phone and successfully upgraded the software. All looked great, I got past the password stage, and was just going to begin reloading my information when the screen faded to blank again. I still have the free loaner phone, so it's not a big deal, but it's bugging me as to what the problem could be. As of right now the computer can no longer detect the phone again
my dog got hold of my 8530 and put a toothmark in the screen cover. The screen was also damaged meaning I could see white and grey stripes. I bought a new screen and replaced the old one. Now when I turn it on, I get the white screen and i cannot dial out or recieve calls. Basically the phone is dead. I was able to connect to my desktop and install the latest OS version. I put the old screen back in and I still cannot recieve or dial. I must have done something while taking it apart or putting back together? It is a very simple procedure so I would think it difficult to screw it up. Before I took it apart, i could get phone calls and dial out but i couldnt see the outgoing or incoming call screen. I took the battery out before I took it apart. Now when I connect to my desktop, the connection comes and goes as if you were plugging and plugping in the device.
For the last two weeks my curve is showing I have 6 unread email messages yet I have none.I searched the forum and it's not call logging as I had that turned off.Anybody have an idea what's causing this? I have double checked all my email accounts all to know avail.
My phone fell down the loo; i got it out straight of way and took the battery, simcard and memory card. I dryed it with my phone with the hair dryer then after put it in a bag of rice; i checked it every day after two days when i checked it it worked okay, then after bout 10 minutes there was lines at the bottom, i took out the batter thinking it wud go aaway but it came back and more of them; i tried again and the whole phone screen had black lines then i ut it back in the bag of rice for another day then when i checked it the whole screen was pure white; what do i do?
i have a blackberry curve mobile, i dropped it in a pint of lager new years eve. i have left it to dry for months. first time i turned it on i was getting the white screen and it kept happning. so i tried updating the software and it worked fine for about 3 minutes. so i just left phone for a couple of weeks tried updating software again. last night it stayed on without turning off or having the white screen, but i get up in the morning to check my phone click it then the white screen appears again. making me very angry, because the white screen doesnt come on if i have my phone connected to USB to pc it stays on. anyone know why this is happning?
I went to a carnival 2 days ago and it rained, I had my phone in my bag and a few hours later I got it out and the screen went white, my phone was turned on so I don't know what happened.I have asked some people what to do and they said plug my phone in the computer to update it, but a few months ago the charger port came out so i cannot plug any chargers into my phone, I bought a battery charger to charge up my batterys, what can I do?
this morning my phone got wet whilst walking in the rain. I left the phone and all was fine, after about an hour and half after it getting wet the screen went white and has been white ever since. None of the buttons work and the red light does not flash. does this mean it has died?
I had had my Blackberry Curve 3G 9330 for exactly 3 months yesterday and have been pretty happy with it. Upon taking it out of my bag that morning (where there were no liquids), I was horrified to discover that the entire left and middle part of the screen was white, with a gradual faded clearing toward the right. Sounds were still working, I could place calls, but of course can't read any of my contacts or text messages, or commands on my phone. It will be 24 hours submerged in rice as of today until about 3pm
