BB Curve :: 8530 Does Not Ring Or Vibrate?
Sep 26, 2011My blackberry curve 8530 is not ringing or vibrating, sound is not set to all alerts off. I have the alerts set to loud.

Jul 27, 2010My boss has a BB Curve 8530 and she wants to set it up to vibrate only in holster and ring outside of holster. Is this an option I can set up in Profiles? If so, do i have to adjust this option for every sound (i.e. MMS, e-mail, alerts, etc)?Or there an easy way to adjust these settings? I'm not very familiar with the BBs so please be gentle.

Sep 17, 2010I am using a ringtone that came installed on the phone. I have vibrate set to off and I am in the loud profile. When someone calls me, my phone rings once and then there is a long delay before it rings again. My daughter has the Bold and she uses the same ringtone and doesn't have this problem. I have Sprint and she has AT&T if that matters. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Jul 14, 2011I just got my Curve 8250 yesterday, and I spent last night setting up my ringtones. I put the phone in Vibrate mode when I was asleep, and when I put it back into normal mode this morning, nothing happens when a text/PIN/phone call comes through. I just get the red flashing light. I've done a 30-second battery pull and made sure that the profiles were as I'd made them yesterday.

When an incoming call, email and or message is received only the LED blinks. I get no sound/ringtone nor does the phone vibrate. I've checked the phone's settings and all appears to be as it should.

May 16, 2010so I have a few contacts that have their number and their PIN; when they sms me, it shows up as a little phone icon to the right then the message inbox which dont bother me, however my problem is the sound and vibration when they sms me, it dont vibrate or there is no sound when its on loud. Apr 3, 2010I have a Blackberry Curve (8530) from Verizon and within the last 24 hours my phone has gone from being fully functional to not functioning at all. First, my speakerphone stopped working, then I lost all sounds (ringing, alerts, etc) yet the vibrate setting still works, and now my trackpad has frozen to where I can't navigate the phone at all. I can still make calls by typing in the number or using my programmed numbers on the keys and I can still receive calls as well, but if I try and navigate using the trackpad, I can't move off of the sounds icon.About 4 days ago, I downloaded the new OS software when my phone prompted me to and when these problems started happening, I did a "soft" reset (alt+right shift+del) and a "hard" reset (removed the battery) which not solve any of the problems. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about how I can fix these problems outside of going to the Verizon store and waiting hours to get help?

The silent switch is not set, If i go into the settings menu, the ringer menu files are missing.All other sounds work flawlessly, music plays, keyboard clicks away and voicemail, and text alerts come through, it's just the ringer that's problematic.I have attched the screen shot of the settings page here below.

To be more clear -- When I'm asleep, I don't want to wake up for every stupid person that drunk dials me, etc, however I do want to wake up if I get a call from work. Apr 24, 2011I am a new EVO user. I previously had a Blackberry and it had a Vibrate then Ring function on it, which allowed me to catch calls before the ringer kicked in. This was a great feature. I am not able set my phone to be on vibrate at certain times, as my schedule is not a set routine. I have looked for apps that would allow me to do this, without any luck. Someone suggested creating a ringtone and leave silence in the beginning, but all of the "custom ringtone apps" that I have tried, cannot do this.

Apr 20, 2010I got a refurbished Bold 9700 today. I have it set just as I did with my old one, but it WILL NOT vibrate and ring at the same time. If I have vibrate checked to on and vibration with ringtone checked to on, it vibrates twice and then rings. If I go into custom, it still vibrates BEFORE ringing. The phone is still on AT&T's official .405 OS right now, and I'm doing the update to .593 right now. Maybe that will help? I'm not sure.
