I guess because I have FaceBook on my 8530 curve FB started an online phone book and pasted all my Blackberry #'s on line even those not on FB.I read how to remove them and it said I had to de-sync BB.I looked on my BB and saw nothing about sync.I just got on FB to msg my kids now all my business contacts are on.FB thinks they own the world!
View 9 RepliesI am using the Google calendar sync to push my Outlook appointments to my Google calendar, and then using the Google calendar app on my BB 8530 to download my consildated Outlook/Google calendar.This works great, except for one problem. When I receive an invite for a meeting via my Exchange email on my device, it automatically adds it to my calendar, hence creating a duplicate calendar item.
In my calendar options on my BB, the "Wireless Sync" option is grayed out and set to "No." (since I don't use a BES connection)
How can I stop my BB from adding items to my calendar automatically when it sees the calendar invite in my email on the device?
I have Verizon service and use webmail to sync my Exchange email.
There are some videos posted on Facebook that require Adobe Flash Player to watch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the calendar on my Curve 9360 to get items from, and put items to my calendar. My email/calendar is on a Microsoft exchange server, and I have it set up on my Blackberry Playbook (activesync) and sending/receiving emails or making/deleting calendar entries is seemless and instantaneous. The Curve on the other hand does not make it so easy.
I get/send emails no problem. The calendar on the curve does not update with new items posted elsewhere nor do new calendar entries made on the Curve get posted to the server. I do not have the same email account options on the curve 9360 as the playbook. I have never found an option on the Curve for wireless sync. The only way syncing works presently for me is to use desktop manager and press sync.
Im trying to log into facebook on my blackberry curve 8530. And keep telling me a connection cannot be established to the facebook server. Ive tried restarting the phone,taking the battery out and all.

I currently have the BB 8520 with 4.6 software, I've been doing to get the O.S 5 update following the 'Upgrade Guide'. I've tried deleting the vendor.xml file but still not luck it still keeps on saying it doesn't have "BlackBerry Device Software". I've tried to following things.
1. Searching my entire computer for another vendor.xml file
2. Re-installing both the upgrade and Desktop Manager
Still no luck, can anybody try and help me out? I've done some searching on the forum and found nothing.

This is my second blackberry curve 8530 and they both have the same problem, they won't play videos. They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. I use to restart my BB and that would help for a lil while now it doesn't work at all. How do I fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs this the same as an upgrade swap? I actually talked to ATT via online chat, and they said once an iPhone 4 is ordered, its stuck to that line. But im pretty sure thats not true.So I want to add a line with iPhone 4 then once I receive her, put it on my primary line, use a dummy phone on the new line, and cancel data on the new line. It works out because I need a new line anyway, I have unlimited data on my primary line, and it saves me some $$ in getting the iPhone at full discount price.
The only thing I was worried about was being able to cancel data, but the ATT rep said I can cancel data at any time. And to order online, I would need to add the single line to my account and order it, once I receive it then I can switch to family plan.Will I need to do the same call ATT and give them IMEI's of everything to swap? Anyone done something similar?

So why is it lacking some normal basic features such as a flash on the camera or high quality mega-pixel camera as the other upgraded phones have? I am honestly curious as this is my first blackberry but I missed why these features were not included in the newer type model.

I have a plastic case on it, so everytime I go to press the Mute buton, I have to take the case off. Add a new family line and get an iPhone 4 for 199 and port out your old line and get an early termination fee of around $100 since she has had the phone for a year. Therefore the cost of a new phone is $299. AT&T said that I would have to wait 60 days to port the line back in otherwise it would be considered a win back.
