View 1 RepliesMy wife has just started using a Curve 8520 and has had it for less than 1 month. In the past few days, they phone has started unlocking itself randomly. She's using the 'A' button to lock the keypad at which point the screen goes off (as I believe it should) and then after a minute or so, it unlocks itself and the screen comes back on.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo yes, when I press the lock button, after 30seconds it unlocks itself. If I have a password, it just lits up and tells me to enter the password.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI press the A key and get a message "Keypad is locked. Press the Mute button to unlock". The keypad remains locked, even in my pocket. However, I recently purchased a leather pouch to protect the phone and as soon as I start to push the phone into the case it unlocks. I have removed the battery and done a reboot to no avail. Paid £20 so don't want to abandon it yet.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a Blackberry Curve 9300 on O2 in the UK. My wife locks the phone, tests that it is locked ok, which it is. Then she puts it in her handbag. She'll then take it out a bit later, and the phone will be unlocked, sometimes with something open. How can this happen? The only way of unlocking it is using the unlock button on the top of the device, which isn't easy, even when you're trying to.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI lock the phone and then put it in my holster. But it automatically unlocks itself.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing an issue with my screen unlocking during Bluetooth calls. I keep my HTC One in my pocket and when a Bluetooth call is initiated from my Bluetooth kit in my car, the screen unlocks and stays on. When the call is finished the screen stays on and I'm having an issue with "buttons" being pressed and starting texts, dialing people, etc.
I've also found that if I lock the phone after the call is initiated, the phone is again unlocked when the call is ended. I'm using one of the built-in lockscreens without a passcode. Is this how the phone is supposed to function? If so, any workarounds or apps to resolve this?
I don't know if this is a tattoo specific issue, or an android issue. When the phone is locked the "normal" way to unlock it is to slide down the screen with your finger, the problem is that it also unlocks just by pressing the menu key. No need to do anything else.A frequent situation: make a call, lock the phone, and put it inside a bag (hand bag). In this case it's extremely easy for the phone to call anyone in your list of recent calls. It's happened to me a few times already. The unlock procedure should be clear: you need to drag your finger down the screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedPhone unlocks in pockets and bags easily and the widgets from the swipe menu such as camera, phone and flashlight for example have been engaged.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGot a strange little problem where sporadically my phone seems to unlock to a different screen than what I locked it on.
For example if I have been scrolling down a web page and gone past an article but not clicked on it, locked my phone and then unlocked it a few minutes later and it has that article open like I have clicked it.
I know people may think I've clicked it by accident and then locked my phone but I can assure you this is not the case.
I am trying to track when it happens and it does appear to be mainly when I'm on the browser.
Alright I have a Droid RAZR, It just sits on my bed until Sandisk Releases the High speed microSD card for it, in a week or so. I cannot install the larger apps, and hence cannot use it. Now I keep it charged, and it just sits there with no service, but on. Now for the last day or two, the screen comes on and brings up the lock screen, like I pressed the unlock button, all by itself, then it turns off again, now wifi and all data connections are off, it just sits there. It does it if I had to guess 3-5 times an hour, but possibly more. And when I got home today, it was FLAT dead, plugging in the usb cord to the computer wasn't enough, I had to plug it into the wall (genuine charger) Let me know if you need any additional info

It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from a 9650 to a 9930. Everything is fine except that when I have the device locked (via the new, inconveniently placed lock button) and plug in a power cable the phone unlocks. How do I disable this? Maybe I am the only one who is annoyed by this but what is the point of a button that locks the phone until you unlock it if other things can unlock it. It wouldn't be a problem if not for the touchscreen which I always seem to be pressing at the time I plug it in.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI keypad lock my bold 9780 phone and the screen goes dark, as it should, and the keys are locked. Then after about 30 seconds the phone unlocks itself and the screen turns on.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my bold 9700 using the computer desktop software. ever since, my phone unlocks by its self as well as lights up every 2 mins. This in turn makes my battery die within an hour. I have tried a hard-reset as well as restoring my phone using the desktop software.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the screen is locked and i receive a notification from Whatsapp the lockscreen starts to go up and down as I'm swiping it, it DOESN'T happens every time, it's like 1/5.
Today it went further, it unlocked the screen and messed around by itself until stops at Skype, I'm really disappointed right now afraid of it get worse, this is a hardware problem?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMods, Please do not move this as it is not a discussion of OS 6 but of the 8520/30 and it's lack of OS 6.
We now have official word from RIM via press release today that unless you have a 9650, 9700, or Pearl3G you have to buy a new phone to get OS 6:"Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry® Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
That being said, are you going to be dumping your 8520/30 for something new just to get OS6?
got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy 8520 was working fine last night but the battery was down to 10% charge.
Charged the battery up and phone worked fine and I turned it off before going to bed.
The phone turned on fine this morning and was showing a full charge. I did turn it off when I got to work and when I went to turn it back on when I went to lunch I got nothing. The LED glows briefly and faintly when I try to power the phone on.
I tried hooking to my car charger but with the same results.
I did a search but apologies if this has been covered already...
I just got my new Curve 8520 from O2 (UK) and the software version is 4.6.1.314.. this seems to be really old?
Should I try an OTA update or should I force one using the links I can probably find on here?
I'm having a few issues with gmail not notifying me and a few other things, and I figure they have upgraded software for a reason!
I'm having a bit of a problem updating to the latest version of firmware for my 8520. Currently I've got v4.6.1.314 but Vodafone have released v5.0.0.1168 so I'd like to upgrade to that.
I've already downloaded and installed the firmware on my computer but when I try to use the App loader to install it on my blackberry it tells me v4.6 is the most recent available.
Any ideas why v5 won't show up when I try to install it?
