On my blackberry curve 8520 i keep on getting a red signal at the top saying SOS this is vodafone and phone not allowed mm6 plus it has also been unlocked but when i put in my t mobile sim it comes up gprs but i can not call or reieve text.

If i try and make a call i get ''Supplementary service error: General error''. I couldnt find much about this on Google except a hard battery pull while the phone was on, which i tried but still no luck. Anyone got any idea's for me to resolve this issue ? I'm also getting 'Phone not allowed MM#5' when i try an emergency call.

View 4 Replies View Relatedgot a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

It can still connect to the internet with wifi, but my carrier network doesn't work. The problem is no due to the carrier (I put my sim card in another mobile and it works!) A device is usually blocked by the owner if it's stolen or lost... But I legally bought it on ebay!So what should I do, now? I have tried different variations of this many times, i have taken the battery out for a little while and then put it back, i have taken the battery out and replaced it and then left the phone to reboot and i have taken the battery out and plugged the phone in and the when the no battery message comes up put the battery in and nothing will work.

Had my BB on Orange 1 week PAYG. It took a week to bring my phone number from previous carrier,
Meanwhile I was given a temp one. The number appears when I press send but although my number has now been transferred, the temp number still appears when I press send. Don't remember whether I input the number when setting up or whether it appeared automatically when the phone read the sim card. Please is there a way of me entering the new number or do I need to wait for Orange to do something, or tell Orange?I'm sure there is a very simple answer.

When I get a call or text from someone on my contact list, about half the time it only shows the Number but not the Contact Name. This is very frustrating b/c I obviously don't have all my Contact numbers memorized, and so don't know who is sending me a text or phone call (this is especially annoying while texting!!!)I've talked with my service provider multiple times and they have tried to help, but say it's really an RIM issue and needs to be address by them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently I purchased a blackberry curve 8520. The phone worked great and was one of the best phones I had ever used. But now it doesn't seem to respond anymore. The only way to get into my phone when turned on is to push the switch off button for about 3 seconds and then the phone will ask me to unlock it. This is kind off annoying because I'm not used to using the phone like this. I don't know how this happened. The only reason I can think of is that a few weeks ago I was pushed and I hit a wall with the phone in my pocket, this broke my g-key. The key did not fall off it just stopped functioning. This used to annoy me too but I learned to live with it. My question now is, will blackberry still repair the phone if I send it back ?

I have horrible battery life with the device. With brightness at 10 percent, ten second backlight, locking the phone when not in use, having wifi and bluetooth off when not in use, and phone off or antenna off when in low service (about four hours), I am lucky to get through the day with a little bit of heavy use (web browsing). I have a few minutes of calls, and mainly texting and web browsing with some email. I expected better battery life out of a blackberry!
The reception on my phone is bad. I have five bars of sprint coverage at my house, but when I pick up the phone and start using it the coverage drops to two bars, zero bars, searching, and can't keep a signal. With one bar of service my phone won't send messages, and then I will lose the bar where my old phone would get one bar solid, sometimes two bars.
I downloaded my lookout virus scanner.Worked great.Did an upgrade from BBapp world and after reboot it starts and the application permission pops up and everything is frozen. My animated screensaver is moving in the background and if I press the alt or caps key the symbol comes on and off but nothing moves and I cant do anything. The phone signal never turns on and the time freezes to when it first starts. I have pulled the battery atleast 20 times and have done the alt caps del reset a bunch too. I email the company of the program and filed a help request but it being the weekend I think Im screwed with them. Can anyone help me out how to get around this I just wanna get my phone back this has been all afternoon.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a 8530 from work and the second I plug it into my pc by the USB cord, it shuts the phone off and the red led comes on. Then the white spinning clocks comes on and then back to the red led and keeps resetting. It does this on both curves we just purchased for work. Same PC works without a hitch for a 9550 and a 9630 same usb cord. As soon as I remove the usb cord from the curves, they boot up fine. Any help would be nice.
