BB Curve :: 8520 Continuously Reboot After Memory Cleaning

Jun 27, 2010

I have a Curve 8520. I was taking a little look around it last night and saw this "Memory Cleaning" option and I thought "I wanna clean it's memory of cache and such stuff" - so I enabled it. I then locked the phone and it said it was going to start and would take a few minutes. Half hour later it was still "going". By going I mean it goes to the white screen with the timer, after a while in the top right it does the whole "receiving/sending data" arrow thingy, then goes back to timer. Then it goes dark; the red light stays on, then goes out, and the white screen reappears.

I thought this was normal, but after it happening for half an hour I thought "surely not" - anyway I decided to leave it going overnight. When I woke this morning my screen was black; blasted thing must have been doing it so much during the night, it drained the battery! It's now plugged it, and it's doing the same thing - there seems to be no way of stopping it. The phone won't turn on. And it just keeps doing the same thing - I fear something's gone wrong and that it's now broken.

BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Secure Content And Memory Cleaning?

Jul 28, 2010

So I just got my Blackberry yesterday and while I was tweaking around and setting my passwords, I enabled Secure Content and it said that it will start Memory Cleaning and that it'll take a few minutes. I waited for it to finish but then it just died down on me. It went off and then whenever I'd try to turn it on, a solid red light goes on and then it goes to the white screen with the clock-loading icon thing for 5 minutes then turns off then does it again or just remains off. I tried pulling out the battery then turning it on, charging it for 3 hours straight, the 101 on Reinstalling the OS on a Bricked Berry and it still forever loops on its boot up. I don't know what happened or why it did that and to think that it was barely a day old when it happened. Any suggestions on what to do besides taking it to my carrier?

BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Enabled Memory Cleaning / Device Won't Turn On

Aug 9, 2010

I have been trying to access a website that I normally visit daily and today it was telling me that about memory being full. Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc.
the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.

after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??

i got my BB last week ok, so, i got invited to a group, i was the 30th member, the chat and images uploaded were loading so my BB started lagging ALOT, i thought it was other thing, so i googled "how to make blackberry faster" and i found an "activate Automatic Memory Clean" thing after activating it, i locked the BB cause i always lock it, then a message popped saying something like "blackberry is rebooting and it will take a few moments" well the few moments were more like a few 10+ minutes, so i took the battery out to restart it, after that a white screen with the loading clock icon appears, then suddenly the screen goes black and red light flashes a bit, then back to the white screen with clock, and so on

Eseries / Communicators :: Cleaning Memory Card?

Dec 27, 2011

So my Nokia E71 got **bleep**ed up and Straight Talk replaced it. I put my old memory card into my new phone. Whenever I turn it on it starts to install something... then ends up saying "Untrusted software on memory card. Go to application manager to install"There are old apps I had installed on my old phone in the app manager that I can't remove, and I think this may be the problem. when I try to remove them it says it failed. I can't see those apps in the OS or use them. They just appear as installed in the app manager. What do I do??

Lumia 1520 :: Phone Just Continuously Reboot Itself

Jul 6, 2015

So I just got out to LA for my 17 day vacation and 2 days in, my 1520 decided to just continuously reboot itself.

I took it to a Microsoft store today and the tech attempted to use the software recovery tool. But he plugged it into a PC so it never got enough power to even boot up to the home screen and he told me there was nothing he could do.

If if I plug it into the wall, it'll boot up to the home screen for about 20 seconds and then just shut off and boot right back up and do the same thing.

Would a hard reset with 2% battery be a bad idea? I really don't want to use my upgrade right now with windows 10 devices right on the horizon.

The white bar that loads on the start up screen will not proceed further than about 3/4 of the way along. I have tried removing and reinserting the battery. I have tried holding the escape key while it loads up. I have also tried both of those while its plugged into the charger as well. THOUGHT I finally was able to transfer all the info to my new phone, but here's where the real problem starts Okay, when it starts to reboot, that progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts AGAIN with the little red light, the progress bar fills ALLLL the way up, sits there for like 2 minutes, and then restarts YET AGAIN and it's been doing this for the last 10 hours! I have removed the battery and media card and EVERYTHING, left it out for like 10 minutes, reinserted the media card and battery and it just keeps doing this. If I try to connect it to the computer, the computer won't recognize it and the BDM says, "Blackberry Desktop Manager cannot communicate with the connected blackberry device. If the device is rebooting or has a dead battery, click Retry to attempt to reconnect once the device reboots. Otherwise you might need to update the blackberrry device software to correct the problem"How in the world am i supposed to update the software on the device if i can't stop it from rebooting?
