Today, I would try to open my e-mail/messaging after a message came through, getting to the icon was VERY slow, along with it would not pull up the next screen so that I could see what messages came through. I pulled the battery and sd card, and it still happened.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried things on the internet, but no success.I've installed an app and remove from BB which doesn't remove icon. Some say the BB has to be Rebooted to clean up left over things. I find this unusual that a normal user wouldn't know how to uninstall apps properly especially having to reboot.I want to be able to restart (reboot) my BB without pulling the battery.

My curve has been fantastic, but after a while its getting really slow, the messages take a week to load, and i have to do a battery pull sometimes to get it to work.and another problem, even when im connected to a wifi network, it uses my sim internet, any idea why?

On my old Rant I received the emails instantly. Is there a 3rd party email that is available. Please help not really wanting to go back to my Rant phone but need phone that will deliver my work emails quick. Work emails are not on any kind of exchange server either. Just simple MS Outlook through our local cable company.

The only apps that I have opened that possibly check the internet are facebook & my weather network app. I have the weather app set to check every hour. So how could it drop so fast? I also have wifi turned on but does that kill it that quickly?

BBM, some web, few apps running).I unplug my phone around 7am in the morning and by roughly 3:30-4pm the battery has almost died. Now during that time all I'm doing is sending BBM messages (no pictures), minimal SMS messages and the only app I have running is 'Weather Bug'. Is this normal for the curve battery to die so quickly? I've read about other users saying that they can easily get a days worth of use out of their battery and they still have sufficient enough charge.

1: The battery life it bad! I took it off the charger today at about 9:00, and have used some texting, about 20 minutes of Pandora, and a little bit of internet browsing, and now my battery is at 75%... I like in a coverage area with 5 bars (more on next one), and I am not using wifi very much, with screen at 10%, 10 seconds off, and auto dim, so I don't know what it is...
2: As above, I have 5 bars in my house, but when I hold the phone it will go down to two or one, sometimes zero, switch to no service, and not get good signal until I set it down and leave it there for a couple seconds. Very annoying, because it makes it hard to load web pages sometimes. I would use wifi but it is slower and less reliable than Sprint's network for some reason. If someone could help me with these problems, or at least suggest some things, that would be great!
I just got my Blackberry Curve 8530 about a week or so ago. I love it, but there is one problem - the battery life has diminished completely.I charge it overnight so that it's ready in the morning. So, here's a timeline to gauge it's life: I woke up at 6:30, unhooked it from an overnight charge.I got to work at 7, it was still almost full.
Now it's 10:15AM and it's at 3/5 battery life. However, I've done almost NOTHING with it. I checked two e-mails, and the battery life was low prior to that.Is there anything I can/should do to conserve battery life? My Envy II had better battery life than this.
Is the quality of the device good? My concern is that it is CDMA and GSM. Will that make any difference in network speeds? I don't travel so SIM cards don't matter to me. Is it worth getting the Curve 8530 since it is CDMA?

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

When I start the device, it start to boot up until maybe 75 % and then it starts all over again from 0. naturally I tried to pull the batterie out, and waited like couple of minutes but it still want works.does anyone has similar experience? any suggestion on how to solve it?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've had my new 8530 curve for about a week now. I'm getting about 1/2 day of heavy usage from the battery. This includes 6 hrs of usage with 2 hrs of bluetooth conference calls, and when I'm not talking, I'm checking emails and stocks every 30 min. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed as I could get an extra 1/2 day with my 8330 and just charge my bb at the end of the day with 10-20% left over. Folks say I need to upgrade os, that is next on my list.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI own a BB for only 3 days now. I was wondering if the device was normally sold with Appworld already install? It was not on mine. I wanted to download it today, here the process:
1- Go to BB.com, send the link on my email...err: I don't have internet explorer 5 or higher on my device (can't download it for the same reason!)
2- Go to BB.com to download it on my desktop....err, I use firefox (mac),
3- open VMWare Fusion, run Internet explorer 5, crash.
4- install internet explorer 7...crash
5- Look in the application loader in the desktop manager, I can uninstall/install Appworld on my device! Do it. I still can't see in in my applications.
My device is pw protected. I schedule my quickpull to restart my phone and I gave it the pw so it can by pass that. However, it does not do that. The phone does not unlock and restart. Instead, I have to manually unlock it and it prompts me to restart. Idk what to do. I want to have phone restarted when I don't need it. As in when I wake up and hop in shower.

View 14 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my media card has become un-detected by my curve. It has worked fine for the past month or so that i've had it and now it's just disappeared. In Memory settings everything is switched to 'On' but the handset doesn't want to recognise the card for some reason. I took it out and put it back in and got nothing, did a soft recent by pulling the battery and still nothing.

Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc.
the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.
after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??
I have a Pearl, doesn't connect to PC, no internet. My brother is letting me use his Curve to transfer a theme to my Pearl. Now basically, i need to know how and where to transfer the Pearl theme to (while the curve is plugged in, and the pearl's micro sd is in it) then remove the SD card and put the SD card it in the pearl, then locate the theme.
When i open the folders for the micro SD card on the computer,(while in the curve) i see no folder for apps or themes. I transfer the alx and cod file into every folder there but i can't find it when i put the micro sd back in my pearl
The next thing ive tried was installing it as an app thru BB manager, it said it transferred ok, but i cant find it on the micro sd card (do they go right to the curves own memory maybe??)
For some reason, I can't receive emails on my @sprint.blackberry.net account. My Yahoo, AOL and Gmail work just fine. I signed up for a BB address on my phone's browser. When I try to log in on my desktop, it says my device is not accessible and I must visit the website on my phone. I have tried sending emails TO my phone and sending emails FROM my phone. Neither one works.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a blacberry working with Orange France. I had an error message when I pulled out the battery (App Error 523, reset" ). So I send the firmware 8520M_PBr5.0.0_rel661_PL5.2.0.31_A5.0.0.411.exe, and he could start.
However, when I put my sim card (working on my nokia) , it doesn't work (invalid). I've asked for an unlock code, but when I enter it, the BB freeze (I always have 10 tries). I've tried with another simcard (Orange, SFR...) and the result is the same.
I am with orange and I have 500MB data per month. When I try and use the mobile network internet it says 'This is a WiFi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again'. Why is this? Also, when i try to update to 5.0 it says I need a data package but it worked on my old phone. And because of this I can't download the app world. The signal goes to SOS a lot as well but I think my house blocks the signal. Currently it says 'gprs' with 2 bars beside it.

It did until i set up desktop manager and then i dont know what i did but they dont show. I know they are there because i did a hard reset and pulled the battery, also removed the media card, when it scanned i saw it show all the ringtones then watched em all come off. how can i fix this to be able to view them?
