May 12, 2010i have just bought a bb 8520, and i cant find where to block the phone sending my id [telephone number] to who i am calling.i have called my carrier because this is a service that they have to add to the plan, but they told me that the only way is to dial #31# before every phone number thats an option, but unreal, beacuse for the 99% of times you choose the phone number from the contact list [or you should modify every phone to have the #31# before the number]i had a nokia before, and this option is easy configured through the options tab does anybody knows where to configure this option?

Almost, because it seems the "o" key in the keyboard is pressed also when I don't press it. After some seconds, the things turn normally. I suspect a software problem.

Feb 23, 2010Just got new 8520 to replace 8320. Windows will only recognise it as a Rim Composite Device and cannot find software.
I have an existing 8320 which connects and works perfectly OK on the same laptop.
This is what I have tried so far
1. Unstalled existing Desktop software and reinstalled both with downloaded version and cd provided version
2. Installed USB/modem drivers from Blackberry downloads and tried a manual add
3. Ditto with Microsoft generic rim drivers
This has taken about 8 hours of changes so far all to no avail. The 8320 is fine tho'

Jun 18, 2010I got BB Curve 8520 and try to use the internet browser after enabling the wifi. It always fails with error "Failed to obtain an IP address". I have changed wireless security on my Linksys Router from from 'WPA-2' to 'WPA', Still the problem remains. My Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and iPhone are just working fine. I tried the above with & without simcard inserted. I have a Wi-Fi connection at home & office and want to browse using this and do not want to use BlackBerry Internet Service of my GSM operator.

Aug 21, 2010I recently received a message telling me that an update was available for App World. I downloaded the update, installed it and rebooted. Now I am unable to download apps. When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Jun 9, 2010I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
