BB Curve 83xx :: Good Themes That Does Not Slow Down
Jan 3, 2010
Can anyone tell me a good theme for the blackberry curve 8330 that does not slow down or have any glitches on it? I have Verizon as my provider. I am really like the Apple themes/iberry but i don't know how well they work with the 8330 curve on verizon...
My phone has gotten to where when I am typing a text message it'll get so slow and almost freeze up and just stop and I got to wait and let it come back before I finish. I am running .131 on my Alltel 8330. Also, the 507 error I believe it is, happens to me a lot & I have had to completely reinstall the whole OS so many times. My battery doesn't really last very long at all. It doesn't compare to many that I hear about & my signal just isn't that great. Sometimes it runs good & won't really be that slow or lag but these past couple days it has been lagging bad & even with scrolling. Memory is NOT an issue I can reboot up with 45 & it'll go down to around 39 throughout the day.
I've tried .127 OS that my phone came with, used .131, used a hybrid before and tried .169 but the notification problem is too annoying.
I've been wanting to grab some alert tones like the sounds made in mario brothers old school games and so on. While I do know where to get a pretty good amount of free ringtones what I am looking for are alert tones to be used say when I get an mms .sms. Etc..
I'm a noob when it comes to BB so if you give me an explanation, you will have to type it as if you're talking to a 5 year old. So anyway, When I download themes they are jad. files i believe and NOT zip. I then go to my computer and drag and drop the themes into my blackberry media card folder (i made a themes folder) i then go to my blackberry and go to media and click explore then i got to the themes folder but when i go to download it it says "download failed" so i click details and it says "907 invalid COD file not found"
Im looking for free themes for my blackberry curve 8300. any badass themes will work, just give me a link or osmething and that would be great... also if you can find any san diego chargers themes
My blackberry is running slow especially in the messages. When i receive a message i click R to reply and type my message and send it before it even loads the message and i just got this phone 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know how i could fix this and speed up my phone?
I wiped my phone because i had to reinstall the bolt browser ,don't ask it was just a recomendation someone gave me. But i'v enoticed my emails are real slow to get through and the smae thing with the speed in which my text are sent out> What do you guys figure it could be?
I recently upgraded my Verizon 8330 to Nathanix 5.0 Hybrid. I like the features of this OS, but now the Application Memory is almost full (I keep getting the screen that prompts me to select apps to delete) and it is running slow.
When I unlock it, it takes quite a few seconds to "boot up"; the hourglass is turning, but the keys and trackball don't do anything. This is really annoying if I recieve a SMS or email and want to check it really quick.
Also, it has been freezing up a few times a day, and I end up doing battery pulls.
I really like some of the features so I'm not sold on going back to my old OS, but this is annoying.
can we get more standby themes (like vertical, horizontal icon bar) on internet?tell me website for general thmes for nokia c5..it will be nice if there is animated clock theme for c5?
i have tried downloading animated themes from app world and they wont work , they are compatible with my phone, they dont even show up where the themes are listed , i found the ones i downloaded in my files folder and when i click on them it says unable to open file
Is BB Curve 9320 good for mobile internet?I'm planning to have unlimited internet plan for my mobile BB Curve 9320, is my unit good for mobile internet?
I am new to this forum and new to blackberry in general. I actually purchased my very first one saturday. I bought it used because I have big hands and did not know how well my fingers would work on the tiny keypad. I have a few questions. Please dont flame me because I have been searching and reading since i got home yesterday afternoon.
1.) This phone is a t-mobile phone and is currently unlocked and works with my AT&T service. Being the engineer that I am- Its hard for me to accept the t-mobile screen that comes up on start-up. Before I call and get my blackberry plan activated on my phone I would like to have all the bugs worked out. I would like to somehow make this phone think its an AT&T phone. I have downloaded crackmem and nuked this phone. I upgraded to the lastest version of AT&T software which is version 4.6, but when i power this phone up it still shows T-mobile. That drives me crazy.
2.) I read how to unlock the different vendor themes on this forum. I tried it and it did not work for me. I entered the vendor id number for AT&T. maybe I should have entered it for t-mobile. Like i said I am new and know dont know very much about these phones.
3.) I also have the OS system 5.0.411 downloaded and ready to install on my phone. I would like to figure out how to resolve the above items before I install in on my phone. I chose the 5.0.411 over the latest software because i like the unlock button on the top of the phone working. Its just convienent for me.
My main concern is I was the t-mobile start up replaced with the AT&T one. I know it can be done but I am a mechanical engineer not a software engineer and it was hard enough to write enough code to get through college, much less reprogram a phone.
I cannot delete themes from my BlackBerry Curve 8520 (T-Mobile). I have done extensive research on the issue, and have tried many of the methods listed within this forum. However, all have failed.
Here is a screenshot of the themes in question: http://everythinghost.net/bb8520/themes.jpg
I have tried removing them through Options > Advanced Options > Applications, however there are no themes listed within the application list. Here are screenshots of my application list: [url] [url]
I have also tried to delete the extra themes using BlackBerry Theme Studio (this is actually the source of the extraneous themes). After previewing several themes on my device, the program's internal 'Manage Themes On BlackBerry...' feature has failed to delete any of them. Screenshot below: [url]
I have also tried to delete the extra themes using BlackBerry Desktop Software (Version 6). However, the themes are nowhere to be found within the application list. Screenshots below: [url] [url][url]
Prior to using BlackBerry Desktop Software Version 6, I tried Version 5, but the themes still did not show within the application list.
I have tried numerous battery pulls, restarts, software updates, etc. and nothing has worked!
Need to free up some memory did battery pull run quick pull pro do alt lglg have 3td party apps on phone beejive berry weather ubertwitter at 6 pm I am down to 9 mg start out at 12.5 I deleted themes and games just cant get that memory up there Help I have curve 8900
Just want to know if there are any free themes out there in the interweb, hahaha. I ask because owning a previous curve(8320) as you know came preloaded with at least 4-5 themes. Now i'm rockin' a t-mobile 8520 with 1 preloaded theme. Not cool and i don't have the data plan at the moment ( i know useless bb), but having financial difficulties. Any way to download themes on pc then maybe to the 8520?
I'm not to good with the BB n i got the 8520. I do have a memory card in my BB, (i hope its working right). but anyway I like to save a lot pics and videos. The apps I have are twitter and facebook. I have 137532864bytes for my file free. Is that a lot of memory/space? Should I get a bigger memory card?
To begin i have a 8350i on boost with the necessary service books i purchased said handset used off of craigslist 7months ago for around 200 hundred bucks worked great a little beat up from use but im a mechanic so it didnt matter, well yesterday the trackball quit working on me no movement and it felt really wierd, tried cleaning it with compressed air no luck, i went to the sprint store where i pay my bill it just happens to be a repair center they told me they couldnt work on it because it was on boost but that they could provide with a new one for only 100 dlls i jumped on it,, tell me what u guys think was it too much or was it a good deal?
I have a Pearl, doesn't connect to PC, no internet. My brother is letting me use his Curve to transfer a theme to my Pearl. Now basically, i need to know how and where to transfer the Pearl theme to (while the curve is plugged in, and the pearl's micro sd is in it) then remove the SD card and put the SD card it in the pearl, then locate the theme.
When i open the folders for the micro SD card on the computer,(while in the curve) i see no folder for apps or themes. I transfer the alx and cod file into every folder there but i can't find it when i put the micro sd back in my pearl
The next thing ive tried was installing it as an app thru BB manager, it said it transferred ok, but i cant find it on the micro sd card (do they go right to the curves own memory maybe??)
I've done a bit of digging, trying to find a solution to my problem before I posted, but most posts in the vein of a Media Card unrecognized/unable to format trail off into "is your SD card bad?" with no response following. So here's where I stand:
My phone: Blackberry Curve 8330 My Carrier: Verizon My OS: v4.5.0.175
2gb media card has been used in phone since purchase in July '08. As of 2 weeks ago, phone no longer reads media card. Media card is recognized by phone (meaning phone detects whether card is present or not). Error message of "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted." Attempts to format via phone fail immediately. When plugging into computer via USB (with Mass-Storage Enabled), Blackberry device is recognized, but no media card is present. A greyed-out drive ( I: ) appears in My Computer, but is inaccessable and cannot be checked, opened, or formatted (Error message; "Please insert a disk into drive I: ).
Attempted solutions: Have used 3 different media cards: 2gb Sony, 2gb PNY, 8gb. Each card tested via SD adapter and all read correctly in My Computer: can move files to/from, checkdisk, and reformat. Have formatted all via PC. Each card gives same error "Media card....formatted" as stated above. Hard reset (battery pull) has no effect. Have removed battery for 48 hours (in case there were any stubborn capacitors, or something like that). Have turned Mass Storage, Encryption, and Media Card support On and Off, removed and reinserted card with each parameter changed, no effect (I can give you the list of all of that, but you get the idea. I'm decently thorough). Rolled back the OS to previous version (via Desktop Manager), problem still exists. Re-upgraded to current version, no change. To sum up, the phone works fine, but the media card may as well not be there. It's not the card(s), and I don't think it's the software, given that I changed the OS up and down, so I'm assuming maybe hardware. I'd appreciate any suggestions, and if you need any further info, I'll do my best to provide.
No Browser is running and I dont have any apps. I was on the phone for 15 min and my battery was half dead when I got off. Was never like that before. I've had this phone for almost 2 years. The same thing is happening with the rest of my families Blackberrys. Why is this?
I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".
I installed the BB desktop manager for Mac yesterday, and this morning connected to remove some apps, create some space, and install all the updates. In the process of this it mysteriously just stopped doing anything right after it said "database cannot be backed up" and shut off. Now it's flashing red twice, pausing for about 2 seconds, and repeating the flashing. I pulled the battery and sim even though I was sure that wouldn't do anything, plugged it back into my laptop, plugged it into the wall both with and without the battery, and nothing has changed. The desktop manager doesn't not recognize the device at all.
I'm using a Curve 8330. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed totally? Also, and I know this is a long shot, but what are the odds that I can restore the device and save the data that's on it?
