I visited the blackberry applications website on my computer. I see programs/applications which may help me. Next to some of them i see a fee to purchase the program. Are those one time fees or monthly things? Or is it program specific. the thing i was looking at was called Zbook and seems to keep a copy of my contacts.

I know that closing applications properly will optimize battery use. When I check to see what applications are running, I always see: Call Log, Browser, Home Screen, and Messages. Must those four always run, or is there a way to close any of them?

First thing I want to do is get all the apps from my old phone to the new one. I have installed Opera Mini 5 but I have to say I miss being able to toggle through the links. Sometimes the rollerball can be too slow.
I used to listen to music via Radiotime on my old phone. However, that was with Windows Mobile and it doesn't quite work with this phone's browser. I saw the post about blueapple.mobi and quickly got that bookmarked. Right now I am looking for free apps to get me started. Especially a podcast/newsreader and a radio option for my phone.
I have a bb vurve 8320, and i've tried deleting apps, but they won't go completely away.I tried to download different apps like ubertwitter, and it has been saying "installing" for a full 24hrs now.I've deleted pictures, music, etc. i also have 2 other apps that say ready to install, but when i press the menu key and select install, nothing happens!!

I have contacted my service provider and they have helped me to check in many methods that would help to fix this even check my IEMI and Pin number in Canada and there was nothing wrong with it. Today I double checked in every application and I found I have no certificates details at all compare to the other BB.
I start to check this because it seems my provider doesnt recognize my emei and pin number. I have tried many times to delete email setting and reset. I couldn't even add the pin and emei number, it's always showned 'Invalid Pin and Emei' please contact your service device. Btw, I have been using it for 4 months only

He is not an avid crackberry user, so did not have his contacts backed up on his computer, and of course he lost his contacts, except for the ones with email addresses attached to them for some reason. The 8330m receives MMS pictures embedded and the 8330 receives an SMS with a link to look at the picture online.I know this isn't new but I haven't been able to find any solution to this if there even is one.
One thing I found is that somewhere it was said that the two phones receive different types of Service books depending on the model.Now, maybe this is a stupid question but I am asking it anyways .Can I somehow copy the MMS service book from the 8330m and put in on my older 8330 ? If it's possible, will this fix the MMS as an SMS link problem ?

The guy told me that in options, because "wireless sync" says Not Available, he couldn't do it. I can't change that setting either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager like the BB site said to do and backed up my address book and everything else on my phone. I was going to update my BB Curve 8330 software. I read the directions and followed them and after I backed up and it said the back up was successful I tried to update the software and it said that failed so I restored everything back onto my phone and guess what? Address book is gone! So far that's the only thing I can find that didn't restore but I'm still looking. Is there anything that I can do that I am not techno-savvy enough to have realized or are they just gone? If they're just gone then fine whatever I'm not going to freak out.

I am devestated and wonder what happened. When the battery was reinstalled and the phone auto restarted, I lost my desktop and knew immediately something bad had happened.
