I have recently purchased the Bold 9790 (3months ago). Since new-I have been experiencing the problem where the phone hangs and a small clock appears in the center of the screen. While this clock is there, nothing can be done on the phone-it normally lasts for around a minute or two. Once it disappears, the phone again operates as normal, however the clock appears again and I am back at the problem.
I always put my iTunes Store icon on second home page, but whenever I switch country in App Store with different Apple IDs, it appears on my first home page. It's annoying that i have to move it to my second home page again.
I'm a n00b so I apologize in advance, but I just bought my Blackberry Bold and really dig this phone. However, I want to add more icons to the home screen other than the 5 that are currently on there. How do I do this? I am currently using the "Widescreen HD 9700 O550" theme (which looks really nice).I just switched over from the G1/Android OS so I am still learning my way around the Blackberry.
Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
A few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two. When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.
i have a notification on my home screen and I'm not sure what it is. its a globe and i'm pretty sure its related to the browser but not 100%. someone help me get rid of this
I have a Bold 9700 for personal use and a Bold 9000 for work. On my 9700 there is an option to change my home screen layout from "Zen" (which seems to be the default setting) to "Today" which lists my messages and calendar on my home screen. Obviously this would be much more useful on the handheld I use for work but I cannot seem to find this layout option on my 9000. Is it available?
Basically I have just lost my job and have to keep a real close eye on money. So I am writing everything down as a memo on my BB.Is there a way to set this memo as a home screen so I am always concious of what I am spending? lol. When I had a Sony Erricson many moons ago you could set a memo as home screen and you could still see the picture I had set as the home screen but you could faintly see the text over the image if that makes sense?
I am hesitant to change one of the Shortcut Keys on the side to Memo Pad because I use them a lot for camera and calendar.
The system seems to be locked on the "Home Screen" (the screen with the picture background). You can hold down the blackberry button and it will bring up a menu where I can read my email and make calls (the trackball works here), but I can't select anything on the home screen, or on the large list of icons.
I have a Blackberry Bold 9780 and yesterday i tried connecting to a WiFi network at home. I was able to connect to the WiFi network successfully however there appeared a BB icon on the top right hand corner of the home screen next to the WiFi icon. it is not there always even when the Wifi is on, it appears sometimes and goes off and then again comes back. This is the first time am seeing this icon, can anyone let me know what is this. Also, when my Wifi is active, how do i ensure that whatever i browse is done using the WiFi and not the data service.
I have updated my OS to 7.1.0 Bundle 2039 and have noticed a few changes. Today my homescreen has a row of icons appeared at the bottom. In the previous version you could turn off the icons and only have a small up arrow shown that you could select to show the icons.
i cant use my internet with my bb bold 9700, i already contact my service provider... they did trouble shooting still i cant use my browswer EITHER wi-fi or network services. how could this be? and 1 more my browser icon is not on home screen even i already "wipe" or reset to factory setting... do i have to download the app again so i can use the internet on my phone?
there is a folder on the home screen that shouldn't be there. When i scroll along the first few folders the mouse shows that there is a sms unread (1) but there isn't when i go into the folder. I have done a battery pull twice and the folder is still there and the indication that there is an sms.
I recently upgraded from a Bold 9700 to the new Bold 9900.On the 9700, I could set my desktop theme to display upcoming calendar entries at the bottom of my home screen / desktop.I can't seem to figure out a way to do this with my new phone.
Got a new Bold today. On the BB I replaced, when I opened the homescreen, six icons appeared along the bottom. If I wanted to see all my icons I clicked the bear claw and they all showed up (so, one click). On my Bold, six icons appear along the bottom when I open it, as well, but in order to see all my icons, I now have to click the bear claw, then click "open tray," so twice the number of clicks - a small but really annoying difference. Can you tell me how I can avoid that first step and automatically open the "tray" when I click the bear claw when I am on on the homepage?
I just "upgraded" from my 9700 to a 9900 with OS7 (remains to be seen if it feels like an upgrade when I get everything finally sorted). Mostly it seems fine after some difficult first days.A small but weird thing. On OS6, in the top bar of the home screen I would get alert symbols for Mail, SMS, BBW upgrades, BBM upgrades, Twitter, etc. If I clicked on the top bar, a page would open where I could see the top of my email box, the top of my SMS box, etc etc.
The same thing happens on OS7, BUT for some reason now my email inboxes do not appear (the "new message" symbol appears, but the inbox is not on the detail page that opens); same for BB, same for SMS. When I click that bar, the only content which appears on the more detailed page is my calendar and Twitter.I thought maybe there might be a setting which determines which content appears on that detail page and which does not, but the only manageable element of the home screen now appears to be the panels ticklist.
This morning I discovered my SMS icon was missing from the homescreen. i checked in all the folders-- not there. i did the Show All Icons thing-still didnt show up. this has never happend to my friends with blackberrys.
I've upgraded to v6 today from v5. In v5 I had simply turned off the 'dial from home screen' option & was able to use keys to directly access my apps. For eg I would press 'M' to open messages or 'N' for BBM, 'U' for calculator etc. I can't seem to do this any more in v6.
My BB9900 very often just freeze (without clock ) after update softwer to 7.1 I got of the screen : Built-in Media Storage not accessible due to detected errors.
I have a 9700, and I wondered if we can set custom icons on the home screen, like putting Opera or BeeJiveIM instead of other icons like Vodafone Live or Email or Calendar.I hope you got it. I searched on the web, but no good answer for 9700.
