BB Bold :: Video Player Will Not Play
Sep 15, 2010I downloaded a video last night and went to play it there was an error message that came up saying there was a problem with the player. I can not play any videos that worked prior.

I tried it on several videos one of which I uploaded from my phone and my wife could play it fine with her Thunderbolt and was quick to say it was because her phone was better than mine.
BB Bold :: Media Player Won't Play .wav Files
Jun 25, 2010My BB used to be able to play the .wav files that I received by email from my office phone system. I just ran the BB updates it wanted to and now when I attempt to play a .wav file, media player opens but then says - an error has occurred attempting to play media. The media being played is of an unsupported format.
I found posts saying I needed to install the BB attachment service but I can't get the option to show in Desktop Manager even following the instructions to download and run the OS on the PC.

I had some avi files that were choppy in every video player and the only media player that played them smoothly using software compression was MX Player. Also I noticed that MX player would allow you to software decode video and audio seperatly, meaning you can use hardware decode for video and software decode for audio.
BB Bold 9700 :: Media Player Will Only Allow To Play 2 Songs?
May 11, 2010I just bought a 9700 a week ago and am already having a small problem! As of yesterday, whenever I open and use my music player and select shuffle and repeat all, the player will only play 2 songs, and then stop- not playing anoter song, and not shuffling to the next song. Furthermore, when I's listening to a song and press the menu button, I see on the menu list, that besides the shuffle and repeat options there is this "{2}" which I assume, means to play only 2 songs.
If anybody could advise me how to get the player back to it's old fab way of shuffling all songs and playing them throughout, rather than just 2 songs then stopping- i'd be eternally grateful

Feb 4, 2010I am buying a BB Bold 9700 tomorrow and was just wondering if there is a "full-screen" function in the video player. The reason I ask this is that some of the videos I plan on putting on the BB are widescreen and I don't really want those top and bottom black bars to take up screen estate. If there is no such feature, does anyone know of any (preferably free) software to convert and crop videos down to a format and aspect ratio that will fit the 9700's screen?

Mar 20, 2012Music, podcasts, whenever I try to play anything in the music app, the timer stays at 0:00 when I press play. Any other part of the app acts like it's playing something, but it isn't. Other apps work (Video). It's just the one app, but It won't let me delete or reinstall it.

Feb 11, 2010I have installed Mediabox and the extended support CODECs for the N900. However, it will still not play most of my videos off my streaming media server (the programs can see the files ok).
When I try to play them, I have sound, and sometimes I can see a ghost image frozen on the screen, but no video. They can play some low resolution ones 320x240.
The videos I am trying to play that wont are :
512 x 384, bitrate 1154 kbps, 23 frames/second Divx avi
576 x 432, bitrate 1057 Kbs, 23 Frames/second Divx avi
640 x 480, bitrate 1066 kbs, 23 frames/second Divx avi
624 x 352, bitrate 1109 kbs, 23 frames/second Xvid avi
any ideas why these are not supported or where i could get CODECs that will support them, they play fine on windows media player and quicktime and on my Ps3 ?

Jun 19, 2012I used to download several podcasts directly to my iPhone 4S each morning through iTunes and play them using the iPhone music player later in the day. Last week I noticed the download icons in iTunes changed (software update maybe?). The podcasts still download in iTunes but they no longer appear in the music player app (the old episodes are still there in the podcast menu). I can still play the new podcasts in iTunes but it does not automatically go to the next file when one ends like the music player does. This is annoying when listening to multiple shorter files. Also, I am concerned iTunes will not play the episodes if it can't connect to the server. Tested this out in airplane mode and it would not even let me access the iTunes podcasts despite supposedly being "downloaded". My mobile reception is poor in the office and there are times accessing iTunes is very slow or impossible.There are also times when I listen to them while in the car on trips through areas with little or no mobile data service.
TL;DR: iTunes podcast downloads used to show up in iPhone music player. Now they don't.
