I'm a newbie for Blackberry. I disabled my data plan and connect to wifi. but when i try to browser it say unable to connect. Error message : Data service are disabled. Go to Mobile Network to enable. I dont want to use my data plan. i want to use wife to browse.

At home, even I turned the WiFi on it will only show white mark and the WiFi logo is still gray. When I try to scan for network to other areas it will ask for hotspot login. My friend can easily connect to her WiFi at home using the BB 9000
I cant understand. Do I need to setup anything?
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700, I have WiFi Internet in my Home and Office, I Installed Yahoo MSG, Google Talk, Windows Live from BB website, but when I click on sign in button on all of these Instant messaging, and error displayed. "Service not Enabled for this handheld". I don't have any Data Plan on my Sim card, but I still have WiFi Internet and I can browse with my BlackBerry.

I mean whenever I check the box for turning wifi on, it wont turn on and when I do wifi setup wizard it says "unable to turn wifi on". I did clean reload of BB OS, I even did a downgrade for BB OS, I erased all the data and set everything to default but yet no results. I got my 9900 in August and haven't had this problem before. I can connect to my WiFi -- it shows as connected, strong connection etc. But when I try to go to any site on my browser I get "Unable to find the requested server. This is on my home wifi. But my laptop and WiFi are still fine so it's only on my phone. However, I discovered I am able to connect to other wifis - just not the one at home. The problem originated right when I was downloading some software upgrades. I wasn't really paying much attention to what I was doing and I'm not even sure how I got into downloading these upgrades because I'd never done that before. Anyway, one of the downloads seemed to have got stuck mid-way through downloading.

I'd like to continue using my Blackberry Bold 9000 as a free wi-fi only internet access device and install the Google Voice app so my kids could text message and make phone calls via the Google Voice app and phone's wi-fi connection. While my BB Bold is able to connect to our home wi-fi network like in the past it doesn't successfully connect to the internet and gives me the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."
View 2 Replies View RelatedI literally drop EVERY WiFi call after about 5-7 minutes. I get an error message "WiFi Signal Lost". I would normally just blame the WiFi network I'm on, but it does it on multiple totally different networks (home, work, Burger King, etc...). And I know for sure both home and work networks are very stable and fast. Not sure what the issue is. If I go and view the network details of the network I'm on, the signal strength is typically between -40 and -75 dBm. While in UMA mode, the phone will actually go out of UMA mode sometimes for no apparent reason, and won't go back into UMA mode until after a few minutes. The worst part is that the Home screen says I'm still connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner doesn't say UMA! It says 3G! And YES, my Mobile Network Mode is set to "WiFi Preferred". Even if I set it to WiFi Only, the top of the Home screen says I'm connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner says OFF and the phone just goes dead!!
I use this phone for work and it needs to be reliable. Is my above WiFi Calling experience normal?? If not, does anybody know anything I can try? Are there some apps that conflict the with operation of the phone portion at all? I'm back to using the default theme now and it's still doing it... Should I try doing a factory reset? Here are the apps I can think of that I have installed:

If I'm scrolling through a page, the pointer will all of a sudden stop and become completely unresponsive for a few seconds. Then resumes like nothing happened. And, if I'm typing a long text or email and it does this total-lock up, I'll look up from the keyboard and see that none of my keystrokes were being echo'd onto the screen while it was locked up. But then it starts working again like nothing happened. BUT The strange thing is that if I'm typing while it's locked up, it doesn't appear to a buffer any of my keystrokes! (as opposed to on my old BB 8330: sometimes when it got bogged down because I had too much stuff running in the background, the keystrokes being echo'ed to the screen would sometimes slow down and lag behind my typing.... but it always kept track of what I typed and would eventually catch up.) HOWEVER, when my 9780 completely locks up like I mentioned above, it doesn't seem to recognize that I typed anything while it was locked up. when it "snaps out of it" and comes back to life, none of the keystrokes I typed while it was locked up are echo'ed onto the screen. I'm wondering if it's during these complete lockups that I'm dropping calls?

I don't pay my service provider T-Mobile for internet acess on my phone, because I don't use Internet much and this phone already got Wi-Fi. So sometimes the phone's Wi-Fi worked just fine. But also sometimes it takes like 30 seconds (which only takes about 10 seconds when it worked) to load and then it said "Service not available". I had tried to use Wi-Fi with the phone closer to my modem with the Wi-Fi signal really strong, disconnected and reconnected, and turn the phone off and on again, but the problem sometimes happen, not always. So is this because of the phone's Wi-Fi receiver is bad, or something else?

When i switch on my wifi it connect to my wifi completely and withing 3-4 seconds gets disconnected and says " Failed to Assoiciate to the Wireless Network"
ive recently obtained my mobile internet back. however my mobile doesn't want to link up to my home modem, it detects it and accepts its password however it gives me the message that it is unable to authenticate.Now ive checked that the password is correct and the modem is working fine as all the other devices using it work.

It shows that it connected to my home network but no 'tick' just a white 'dash' showing that the handset is not active. I have taken out the battery and rebooted, deleted and re-installed my home network, in fact I have tried everything I could think of without any luck. Recently (about a day ago) I came home and my phone wasn't picking up wifi anymore. So I thought I would do some troubleshooting myself.
I forgot the network, then rejoined it. Still nothing.
I rebooted my phone, still nothing.
I cleared my cache. Still nothing
Finally i completely factory reset my phone and tried to connect to the network and it still wont connect. It can see the network but just wont connect.
