I was just wondering as I ve had blackberry devices in the past and have see friends phone where every time you reboot once the phone comes on it runs a security test!! However I've got a new bold 9900 and this is not the case - there is not test at all?
I did a security wipe three days ago and the phone is stuck in this loop. The phone has been in this state for 2 days solid plugged in to the charger. What can I do to get this phone to reboot properly? Is there another reset besides removing the battery?
I bought a used Lumia 1520 from Amazon a few days ago...been using WP8.1, no problems, so I went ahead and installed the latest Windows 10 Mobile preview last night.
Everything worked fine for about 6 hours, and then the phone started going into endless rebooting loops. About 3 hours ago, it finally booted up, and there was a message on the screen that said "This phone has been locked for security reasons. Please connect to a power source for 2 hours and try restarting".
So I've had it plugged in for the last 3 hours, and now it refuses to boot up at all. When I do the soft reset button combo, the phone vibrates like it's restarting, but then...nothing.
So, I guess I've got two questions:
1. Did Windows 10 Mobile brick my phone, or is it more likely that there was something wrong with the phone from the get go? 2. What additional things I might try for recovery? I have downloaded the Windows Phone Recovery Tool, but without the device powering on, it's basically bupkis.
I was wondering if someone is able to test the following sites on their bb. I dont have mine with me right now and the emulator w/ MDS isnt working on my pc. I just need some screenshots of what it looks like southernlivingplants.com & encoreazalea.com
Yesterday i installed an app from Dictionary.com called Dictionary. i already had it installed but wanted to perform an update cause u cannot copy and paste the corectly spelled word directly into wherever u originally mispelled it. Anyway i performed an update, Bold asked me to reboot, now the phone boots half way, then restarts.over and over and over and over. Im back down to my Pearl. Is there any way to salvage this situation without me having to erase and reinstall everything from scratch? Is there a"safe mode" i can boot into on the phone and manually remove the app cause i have a feeling thats what's causing the reboots.
Reboot complete (main screen/carrier logo) First Time and Device Usable Second Time Minutes:Seconds 3:13 - 3:37 Custom Theme 3:11 - 3:25 Default Carrier Theme Theme's have no real effect from what I've noticed. Unless you have a really big gfx intense theme. 3:13 - 3:23 Password 3:13 - 3:25 Password + wallpaper on mem card 7:09 - 7:21 "Memory Clean Turned on" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card Re-test (that was way too long) 6:36 - 6:45 "Memory Clean Already On" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card. 3:23 - 3:45 "Encrytion Media Card Only" + BerryWeather + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card + Mem Compression Memory Clean and Encrytion (Device Memory Enabled) either one of those on will increase reboot time by atleast 2-3mins. When enabling Device Memory encryption Memory Clean is automatically turned on and can't be disabled. So in my testing reboot time was between 6-7mins. My current config setup is that last test. Since Password is on, I see no need for Device Memory encryption to be on. Without the password you can't gain access to device files. ZonaSnap , QuickLaunch, Blink all preloaded during each test. 8 Email Accounts, about 80 read emails, and 100+ sms, 41 apps anyone that is getting 1-2min reboot please post your settings.
hey guys my bold has rebooted at roughly the same time for 3 days in a row now. At around 6:10am (withing 2-3 mins each time) ive looked at my phone while driving to work and see that its rebooting...I bought the phone a few weeks ago and dont know if it has been going on the whole time but is there a fix or known explaination for this ?

I have had my 9790 for 3 months and about 2 weeks ago I updated the os to 7.1. After I did this I started to have this issue where it would start to reboot on its own, sometimes once a day, sometimes 5 or 6 times in a row and it would drain the battery. Also I noticed the battery level on the screen isn't reflective of what the battery level actually is, it would go from full to red in seconds. its really drive me crazy.
I would do a battery pull and it would be back to 80 or 85 percent. I bought a new genuine blackberry battery to see if that was the issue but still same problems. I wiped the device and re-installed the original os from desktop manager twice and the problem is still there, very frustrating, any one have the same issue and managed to fix it?
i was downloading blackberry protect in my Bold 9780 from app world and suddenly the device started rebooting by itself again & again....while rebooting the process of reboot reches upto 60% or 70% than it againg start the reboot process.....so it would kind enough if anybody can help me with this problem as soon as possible....& i also dont have backup?
Three weeks ago I got my BB 9790 and I am very happy! Only thing is, it keeps rebooting (about 3 times a week) . I have changed phones 3 times now (within 8 days I get a new phone) but I have the same problem each time. Probably a software thing? Are there any others that have the same problem and maybe a solution?
I have had my 9790 for 11 months and about 1 month ago I updated the os to 7.1. My Blackberry bold 9900 keeps on rebooting. The problem occurred when I switched on the phone after a 6 hour flight. I have removed the sim, memory card and battery but noting doing. It keeps rebooting.
I recently changed from a torch to a bold 9900 and i love the phone but for no apparrent reason it just reboots 2 or 3 times a day this is a problem as on a few occasions I needed to make calls and have to wait for the boot screen to finish.
my bold 9900 keeps rebooting, changed the battery cos tot it was the battery issue, but no changes. it just loads the black berry scram and goes off den starts again.
I installed a couple of apps and tried opening them but they gave an start up error. So I restarted my device and now it shows the blackberry sign and the loading bar and then just reboots itself. I have tried removing the battery and attaching the wire and tried to update the phone but it's of no use. this as I'm travelling right now out of country and I cannot show it anywhere else except my country or my warranty will be become void.
i recently purchased a bold 9780..at first,it was restarting itself every 30-40 mins..so,i updated d os and my bb stop d rebooting loop after that..BUT,after d update, when i want to use my fb or bbm on BIS,d phone rebooting again!! i subsribe a daily BIS,so when i dont use BIS,i deactivate it..what i noticed is that,my phone keeps on rebooting ONLY when i have my BIS on..what should i do??i really want to use the bbm n fb..
My Bold 9900 started rebooting this morning like it was powing up after being off and now it keeps doing it over and over. The Blackberry logo shows up on the screen with the status bar creeping along at the bottom. When it gets to about 3/4 across it shuts down and then starts all over. I removed the battery for about 10 minutes and then reinstalled it but it keeps doing the same thing.
my phone has now starting rebooting by itself and it does it all the time. My friends Blackberrys are all of a sudden doing the same , they have the New torch so it seems to be happening with people with the new OS. I know its not just because of my phone as it started happening to my Bold 9900 and my friends phone at the same time . This is unacceptable so please can someone recommend what to do or could Blackberry tech support wake up and sort this out. You want us to buy your phones and this is the thanks we get. What's the point of a cell phone that doesn't work cause it is always rebooting.
I just bought an unlocked BB 9700 a couple of weeks ago and brought it to Costa Rica, it was working like a charm, until last night. The phone died (no charge) and when plugged back in, it started rebooting itself. I didn't notice this until this morning (it rebooted all night long) and now I am able to use the phone without the SIM card in, but as soon as i put the sim in, the phone goes on an endlees reboot.
I upgraded my blackberry 9900 using my phone to 7.1.0 1149 and since then my phone kept freezing and yesterday it kept rebooting, and when I put it on charge it gets really hot, so my friend advised me to downgrade back to your old software which I did but the phone still keeps rebooting itself!
My blackberry bold 9000 keeps rebooting itself constantly and runs down battery within an hour. I have tried taking out battery and sim and also wiping it and it still is doing this?
I've only had my Blackberry Bold for about 2 months. The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on.When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.
I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.
I'm having a scary problem, which my friend had, which lead to her phone being a complete destruction. Basically, the battery is full, yet drains very easily, and then suddenly reboots and the battery power is gone back up etc. The random reboots are worriying me, as well as the battery.
