View 1 RepliesI'm trying to share my LTE connection but as it is right now, I cannot. I'm on ATT family plan with tethering option ON. I can turn in ON alright (it shows 0/8 devices connected) but cannot connect a device. Tried different devices, changed the settings in the "Mobile hotspot" page but nothing works. Tried reset with holding volume down and power button.

On a embedded PC I've configued a hotspot for mobile devices - any device can connect to WiFi it provides and use it to access websites. However one of our customers told us that he can't use it with Blackberry.Only funcionality we need is website access, no need for UMA or any other extra BB-specific features.First problem we had was that BB couldn't associate to hotspot at all. That is fixed now by disabling 'wmm' on hotspot.Problem that stays open is accessing websites. The browser is set to 'hotspot mode' but whenever i enter url in a browser the request times out. The gateway is correct, DNS-server (gateway itself) is correct too, IP address is assigned correct.I dug into it and i can see that most of DNS queries don't reach the hotspot at all. When i try DNS test utility results are the same - most DNS queries don't reach hotspot. I can see BB exchanging ARP 'who has' APR 'is at' packets and thats all.Ping to my hotspot works when i chose 'WiFi -gateway' (however it responds only once after ~1600ms, later requests time-out). When I try to ping it via IP all request time out (however i can see in logs that ping reaches my hotspot and it responds immediately).Hotspot config is atheros (2413) based wifi card in ap mode. Driver is ath5k from 2.6.38 kernel. I use hostapd to create wifi network and dnsmasq as DHCP/DNS server.

I've seen that the wifi connection between PC and phone works fine (in fact, if a server is mounted on phone, the PC finds it and can connect to the server) and the connection from the phone to another hotspot works, but if the node is the phone, the tunnelling between mobile data connection and wifi network, doesn't work (as no route is made!), so, PC connects to phone, but can't access to the Net.
1. I reinstalled the software but not working
2. I erase the phone but not working
3. I do all things but the personal hotspot is not enabled and option is not displayed

View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently installed GoLauncher Ex on my OneV and created a mobile hotspot. The connection appears in my wireless connections and it appears to have full bars, and it appears to connect me when I select it, but when I try to open a web page I get "server not found" message, and then when I look back at the connection it says "connected with limited access". I am in a city with so called full red 3G coverage too. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it the phones inability to transmit a wireless signal? I tried all the different types of security options in the program and still nothing. Am I simply out of luck with using this phone as a hot spot and am I going to have to upgrade to the evo v 4g to do it? By the way I am using windows Vista if that matters.

I was always using on other phones with Android 2.2 FroYo that 3G mobile hotspot feature, which was included right in the Android system under Wireless Networks settings. Now in Defy there is no option like that under settings in FroYo. Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. But here is the problem. On my older phone with Android 2.2 I could create 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I needed and it worked. But now, with Defy, when I use that application 3G Mobile Hotspot, it writes me error when creating WiFi hotspot "Cannot set up data link, please contact your service provider" I suppose it is something with my carrier (Vodafone_CZ), but when I used 3G WiFi hotspots on older phones (which had that feature included right in Android settings menu) it worked without problems and I a used mobile phone for 3G internet sharing with my laptop. Now I remember, that I have deleted some DUN profile under APN Internet profiles, could it be that problem, that 3G Mobile Hotspot app is not working?how to create WiFi hotspot on my Defy for example with some other app?Or if not, how can I use Internet Tethering in Defy Mobile Networks menu via Bluetooth (my laptot has BT). I dont know, what should I set in my laptot to use Defy like BT 3G Internet provider and I dont know, if Internet Tetherig via BT is not charged at my carrier (I know, that the 3G WiFi hotspot feature was not extra charged..) so for that reason I would like to make it working on my Defy.

I have the iPhone 4 3G and also have a Kindle Touch. Can I set the phone to do a portable hotspot so I can use my Kindle without having to go to a Wi-Fi hotspot place?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got my S2 now for maybe 2 weeks now and only now I noticed that my Wifi hotspot function is not working. I tried that with 2 different SIM's (in different countries) with the same result. Tethering via USB works fine. I can switch on the wifi hotspot (open or secured) and I can even connect to it. On my Win7 machine I have a connection for a few moments, after that I lose connection and at the end I lose connection to the wifi hotspot.
On my blackberry I can connect the first time. That connection stays open for maybe a minute. After that it automatically disconnects and I cant connect anymore until i restart the hotspot. When I switch off the hotspot it takes a long time and it ends with error (the status under wifi hotspot). If I just enable hotspot and disable it again it is without errors. So this seems only to happen when a client actually connects... I tried already a factory reset and read somewhere to enable bluetooth before enabling the hotspot, but the problem stays the same ...
I have a bold 9900 that runs OS 7.1 and has the hotspot feature. how to set a different APN for the hotspot feature.I tried going into phone settings and changed the APN under the TCP/IP section. But that doesn't work. Still connecting through the standard APN (btw I've got no idea which one it is) and for what I'm being charged 5 euros a day each time I connect.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to the official RIM release of 7.1 from [URL] which means that I'm running 7.1 .0.205. With this I get the Mobile Hotspot functionality, finally! I've configured the APN username and password requested, and created a 16 charactor password for the hotspot itself. I've verified these are correct. Now, whenever I try to enable the Mobile Hotspot, I get a pop up error message that states:"The mobile data network that your device is connected to does not support this feature" with the title "Mobile HotSpot".To complicate matters, I am currently abroad, and hence roaming away from my home network. However, I can confirm that I am able to access the internet on the built in browser and can send and receive emails on the blackberry itself.
On another note, I thought that maybe the problem may be incorrect APN settings, so I tried to access the 'Mobile HotSpot' settings in order to update this, and I get a very unhelpful message that says:'Before Opening Mobile HotSpot Options, go to Manage Connections and turn on Mobile Hotspot'Clearly, I can't do that, so am pretty much stuck. I found that wiping the device allows me to re enter the credentials, and these still do not work. I even tried to add in the APN details of the network that I am roaming onto, and still no luck.
