When I grabbed my phone this morning I noticed that the icons on the bottom of homescreen were gone and all that shows is an up arrow. When I hit the menu button and went to manage panels, the box for all was checked and greyed out and I cannot change that option. I used to have my e-mail icons, text icon, and browser icon docked on my homescreen but this disappeared overnight
I just got back from Verizon and they told me I need a new phone, basically my blackberry is a lemon for some reason. It was working fine until when I got the icon for a update and tried to do that. It got stuck for a VERY long time. My icons are all very very tiny and not the same. Text, camera etc are all gone. Basically I can use it only as a phone. Verizon told me on the restart it keeps getting hung up on the bluetooth (which I normally leave off but I can not tell since no icons show). My back up to BB is fine but I can not get the phone to upload
one of our users has a 9930 that seems to be corrupting the phone app on what I fear is a regular basis. This is the third instance of it happening and the device otherwise works fine. I've been able to reload the OS and get it working, but this is going to get old.The whole thing is complicated with BES on GroupWise, sometimes the contacts aren't 100% in sync with the mailbox so its not just a matter of restore, reactivate and go.
1. How do you have a homescreen with no icons? I have my favorite apps in folders along the bottom so don't need anything else on the screen. If I try this, android deletes the page and uses my second page as the homescreen (full of widgets).
2. How to get more than 4 icons in the favorites along the bottom?
My Instagram icon on my homescreen seems to have another picture or image on top of it.. Sort of replacing it... The first time this happened to me all my homescreen icons turned into the little android guy but I didn't get to screenshot this.. The only fix was restarting the phone.. Is it a virus attack or something.
The other day I reset my homescreen. Now a lot of my app icons are missing. When I look for them in the search function the come up and I can access them that way but I can't figure out how to get the actual icon back! They are definitely not hidden in any folders.
I saw a video of guys Droid where the icons could be spun in a 3D circle on one home-screen. All the launcher apps I have seen rotate multiple screens in 3D.
After the last update, when ever an app on my sd card gets an update, all of the apps I put on the sd card disappear from the home screen. So, every time I update one, I have to reinstall all of the shortcuts on my home screen. Have already done a couple of factory resets and tried other sd cards.
I'm going from a Samsung Galaxy S3 to a Nexus 6. I never thought it would be so different! On the GS3, certain icons would show "event counters" or whatever they're called in the top right corner. The email icon would show me how many unread emails I had. The Text Messaging app would show me how many unread texts i had. Facebook would show me how many unread notifications I had, etc etc... They were all the same, a number in a little orange bubble in the top right corner of each respective icon.
I've used the Motorola Media Sync app twice to transfer music to my phone. Both times, about half of the icons and shortcuts get removed from my home screens. The apps are still there, I just need to put them back on to the phone.
After upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.
i have this weird sign on my homescreen and i take click on it it looks like 3 bars (yellow, green, blue) with a red cicle around it and a line going through it
I am on a call.I go into an email account then open an email. Then open the attachment to view the image.I then need to go to texts or some application from the homescreen.Normally I hit the "end call" button which goes straight back then, but obviously this would kill the call. So, I have to do Escape,Escape,Escape,Escape. Is there some means to go staight to the homescreen? btw, I did try holding down Escape to see if that works.IT doesn't.
I've seen some fixes for this error on other OS versions, but none specifically for 7.0 on the Blackberry Bold 9930. I was trying to download My Verizon Mobile and got this error.
My device keeps turning itself off and wont come back on, when I get the battery out and back in, the phone turns on and back off again. But when I connect it to my laptop via a USB cable the device does not turn off.
I routinely back up my 9930 on my Mac, but tonight I kept receiving the error message,"BlackBerry desktop software failed to backup your BlackBerry device. The device was disconnected. Reconnect your device and try again." So I did . . . three times. Same message each time. I downloaded the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac again, even though it said I had the latest version already installed. I tried the backup once more; same error message. Has the software changed versions or updated? What should I do to correct this?
I can't get my 9930 acces to the BIS, it doesn't get the Host Routing Table. I already contacted my carrier and their solutions don't work (like what the call the 'provisionning' etc) When I put my sim card in a friend's BackBerry it works very well (BBM, the browser.) but it doesn't with mine!
I have the Blackberry Bold 9930 with Verizon - love the phone, but the emails often don't go through the first time and I have to hit resend once, twice or three times. This doesn't happen every time, but at least 3 or 4 times a day. Is this a known problem with Blackberry or do I have to contact Verizon? Nothing has changed since I bought this new phone, such as where I use it, the carrier, etc. I have pulled the battery numerous times to see if that solved the problem, but it continues to happen regularly.
I live outside the US and own a Blackberry Bold 9700 which has Blackberry Enterprise Service; I recently purchased a Bold 9930 unlocked from verizon in the US and wish to use it instead of my old 9700. How can I go about switching the Blackberry service from my old phone to my new 9930?
I am able to make calls with the 9930 but have been unable to activate the Enterprise service on it. I have tried using the desktop software to switch devices but that seems to have only transfered the data from my old phone to the new one.
I bought my BBB 9930 several months ago, today my phone did not start. I tried everything, taking battery out for about an hour, direct connect to PC etc..Every 20 seconds the blackberry logo and bottom bar will slightly light up (faded low low light) and disappear right away then 2 seconds later the red light will turn on and off and then the same thing will happen again 20 seconds later into a loop.
My device keeps turning itself off and wont come back on, when I get the battery out and back in, the phone turns on and back off again. But when I connect it to my laptop via a USB cable the device does not turn off.
I just received a brand new blackberry 9930 and it is not working with the SIM card I have in the phone. I live in Jamaica and I am using a Digicel SIM card. The original carrier of the phone is Sprint. The phone is unlocked and I have the MSL code and I inserted it and the phone rebooted and nothing changed. What I see on the main screen of the phone is "SOS" in the top right-hand corner and sometimes "searching for GSM" comes up and then it goes back to SOS and if I try to dial a number it starts to say "the call could not be connected, try again".When I go into the "Mobile Network" option it says
Data Services: On While roaming: On Mobile Network: DIGICEL Network Selection Mode: Automatic Network Technology: GSM/UMTS Network Mode: 3G & 2G
i have a problem with my 9930 not connecting to BIS. i'm in nigeria and my phone runs on the MTN Nigeria network. I have noticed this is now a common problem with 9930s running on thesame network in nigeria. the phone is a 9930 verizon running OS 7 on the MTN N network. i have used this same phone in glasgow the last time and it had no problems but on returning to nigeria the BIS stopped working. i dont have any other problems with this phone as much as i know.
Just bought a Bold 9930 and also a MacBook. Now, my question is if I can sync my phone (addresses, documents etc) both when I am using my MacBook (when travelling) and at home with my PC?
I got this blackberry bold 9930 on my Trip to China, on getting back ,its unable to access rim network.Kindly assist with the below details in letting me know what the issue may be and what can be done. I can receive calls and sms on the phone, but can't do blackberry messenger and other social.
I am kind of concerned about the lack of App space I have on my new 9930. I have a some apps (facebook, twitter, poynt, BB news, BofA, evernote, wikitude, scoremobile, google maps, BBmaps, IMO, Bridge, SayIt and maybe a couple of other small ones) but before this last upgrade to OS 7.1 I was always around 200MB left, which still isnt great but its better than what I have now after the upgrade which is 140MB. Does anyone else have this problem? Its great that they increased the internal storage to 8GB but that does no good when you cant use it for apps, and besides I have a 32GB SD card in it so I dont need that 8GB for media storage. Is there anyway to increase the amount of storage without deleting the apps i have? I have these apps because I use them. I had the same apps on my 9650 and actually had more room 250MB or so.
I have a blackberry bold 9930 (provided by Verizon) that wont turn on. I checked my messages on my device before going to bed and charging it for the night. Left the phone on the charger throughout the night, woke up, went to check my messages, and the phone was no longer turning on. I dont know what happened during the night.Went to Verizon: the guy gave me some bs about how the phone has had water damage (as evident by corrosion on the charger insert location). I have since been told that there is in fact no water damage (the item that is supposed to turn red when there is water damage is still white) and that the corrosion is merely the fact that I use the charger.
