hifolks looking for some info bold 9700 battery wont even last a day. it just started this all of a sudden. got new battery had has made no difference got rid of all the games that i dont use and cleaned out the whole phone still only lasts a day before it runs out were before it would last a good 3-4 days.
Is it normal for my 9700 to take more than 5 minutes to start up?? Its strange because not to long ago I used to do battery pulls or a soft reset and my device would be up and running within a minute or two!! By the time it load up my battery is almost drained!
I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.
I live in an area w/o 3G right now, so I'm just experiencing 3G on my 9700 on a weekend getaway. My battery drains MUCH faster now, with UberTwitter being the only app I have open. Are there any tips|tricks or anything in the settings I can tweak to reduce the drain, or is this just the price of the speed boost?
According to meterberry the discharge rate is 7.5 percent .. I never got this much .. I also noticed my battery life decreasing .So far I took it off the charger 2 hrs and a half ago .. three calls totalling 5 min and lots of twitter ..
I used to be able to listen to mp3 for hrs and now my battery would run out in a couple hrs. Is it because I have a lot of files in my memory card? (I have an 8G memory card) or is it because of the new software?
I've been reading a lot about people that have problems and in alot of these case a battery pull is a possible recommended fix.My 9700 runs fine.
The question I have is should I still pull it once in a while (i.e. once a month or so) even though I don't have any problems? Can I go months or years without pulling it if I have no problems?
Is pulling like rebooting your computer and it should be done once in a while whether needed or not?Are there those who pull it regularily just ot keep these BB in shape so to speak?
Recently upgraded to a 9700.No complaint about the standard battery, but I have had multiple occurances of the battery dying in the middle of a call.Is there any option or app that can give me a better warning that the phone is about to die while on a call? It would give me a chance to plug in a charger during the call or to warn my other party that I am on borrowed time.
My bold 9700 battery runs out in 12 hours or so. The signal in the area (Orange Switzerland) is weak and there is no difference if the phone is on 2G or on 2G & 3G mode. Used phone in roaming without data and battery was good for week or even more with not many phone calls. Is this normal and any advice on how to preserve the battery? I also have problems with Facebook installation. When I try to sign in, I am getting a message that data conenction is not available and that i should try later. I tried many many times and while everything else works well, Facebook does not. Downloaded it twice directly from Balckberry and reinstalled it but without luck.
I can't seem to get by Blackberry to charge anymore. When I plug it in, it shows a battery icon with a lighting bolt through it - but it doesnt charge the phone.
I have a bold 9700 with the red x through battery problem. It's not the battery I've tired 3 different batteries, all which were original. It always comes up with the same problem. The LED will turn red when I charge it, then the empty battery with an X through it will be displayed.
I've tried connecting it to Desktop Manager, and it gets recognized just fine, just won't charge at all.
There are a lot of topics surround battery draining factors. So I want to make a list of draining rates, for comparison purposes. And maybe tips and tricks will develop for improving duration. So here is mine:
OS 5.0.0.321 NOT using at all: 4% for 8-10 hours: <0,5% per hour VIDEO watching: 13% for 1 hour: 13% per hour (which I think is a lot....am I doing something wrong or is this normal?)
haven't really test other usage yet. Please give exact usages, like video, webbrowsing, not using, etc. And not in terms of heavy use or light use etc, because that is very subjective
I have noticed my battery losing strength even when it is shut down. Last night I was right at 50% battery strength before shutting it down and going to bed. When turning it on this morning it was at 20%. I understand about things running in the background but even while it is shut down?
Sure both restarts the OS, but are they the same in terms of ability to fix problems or mode of operation. Perhaps a battery pull is a 'full shutdown' so to speak but alt-caps-del is not? Or is there really no difference at all?
So i was about to order a replacement battery door but I'm not too sure who to order from... SW-Box? CNN.cn? Truesupplier? Any suggestions so I don't get stuck with a bad door or so I'm not waiting for 2 months for one. By the way. does CNN.cn prices include shipping?
Ive had my blackberry for a few days now and have just realised that it wont go on without taking the battery out first.no matter how many times i press the on button it stays blank, then when i take the battery out the LED goes red and when i hold down the power button it restarts.is there any way to fix this?
I just got my bold yesterday, Ive been playing with it on and off, charged it to 100 % and installed .423. I unplugged today at 8:42 and had 3G on, sent around 50 or so texts, played about 10 minutes of Nintaii and browsed the web a little, did 2 battery pulls, and listened to Pandora for about 10 minutes.I'm at 80% now, is that normal? And how long does it take for the battery to be fully cycled and set in?
Well out of the blue I got a JVM error today. Ive tried the battery pull etc but nothing, white screen just wont go away?I am pretty certain ive lost everything...Will I be able to restore it still from Blackberry desktop or is my phone screwed?
So you know normally you will get a message when your battery is low that says "Battery too low for radio use" and the radio comes off. Well twice that stopped happening. Battery was low but instead of getting the message, my phone just cuts off like if the battery is dead. Any explanation as to why this is happening? It happened two out of two times.
went from 100% this morning (charged overnight) to 40% 2 hours later with no usage other than sending 2 emails! No new apps running - nothing. I normally get at least a day and a half of usage.
Yesterday I got my first Blackberry. The Battery is still half full, but I need a USB modem tethering connection nearly every day for the next few weeks. That means I don't really have chance to run my battery dead in order to treat it right and get the best condition out of it. Is there any chance to disable the charging function in the desktop manager software, or enabling the tethering fuction over Bluetooth? Or is there no need to worry about the battery, when you charge it?
I'm not sure what to do here. I bought a new battery since the old one was getting old, so I figured that was the reason it was draining over the course of the day (7am - about 10pm) , but it happened again on day 2 after a full charge (uninterrupted for about 8 hours) and it didn't even make it 11 hours. The phone is on all the time. I get updates from Facebook and email. 1-3 calls a day. I mainly text, but not more than about 30/day. I browse for about 30 min a day. I put it on the cradle to recharge overnight.
Recently my battery gets to 40% and the phone switches off. Once plugged into the charger it re boots- the battery icon is then red and re charges. I've bought a new battery and this does exactly the same thing? I've got a Bold 9700 and not doing anything different than the last year! The battery has to be charged every day, but I do use apps a lot. Its the battery bar status that concerns me... Why does it suddenly go off at 40% with no warning and re charge at 0%?
I'm new to this forum, so if this problem has been discussed & solved, I apologize. My Bold 9700 keeps dying/shutting down unexpectedly. It takes forever to get it to start back up (flashing red light). Sometimes I even have to remove the battery to get it to react. When the loading bar finishes & the screen comes back on, the battery is completely dead, even though it was at least half full before this happened. BTW, this happened several times with my old battery so I bought a new OEM battery. It's happened twice since then. Even stranger, when I was with a friend today, her Bold did exactly the same thing.
Use, themes and apps drain the battery and there are countless threads on why and what.I thought it may be a useful thread if you all posted what theme you used, what apps you have running over and above the standard 5, are you a heavy user and what your hourly battery drain is.Your theme will have a name.Your apps running is revealed by holding down your BB button and the 5 apps we all have running all the time are messages, browser, bbm, phone, and home.Your use is subjective - but let's say no browsing and answering a few bbm, texts and 1-2 calls is light, several hours of browsing, twittering, FBing, and bbming is moderate, and everal hours of calls is heavym. To start I am a moderate user, use precision modifcation theme currently and have remote printer and IM+ running as well as the 5 apps. My drain is 2.1% per hour over night.
I am sure there are a lot of posts about this, but my question may be a little harder to find. I had issues with my phone and called warrenty so they sent me another one, I feel like the battery is draining a lot faster in this new phone, but its the same battery? Does that make sense? I didnt think it did...any suggestions
had 9700 1 month, first 3 weeks fine, battery last 2 days without much use.Now this week it started to die 12 hours after a full charge without even using the phone.why is this? what shall i do? n.b i have not installed any apps.
I once did the memory wipe out for emails, Contacts, ect. Now every time i take out my battery, the contacts and emails all delete. And there is a message that pops up when it turns on This Handheld Device Includes software that is Proprietary And Confidental to Research Motion Limited ("RIM") And/Or Its Affiliates And Suppliers. Except to the extent that RIM is expressly precluded by law from prohibiting you from doing so, ect. what is the Problem?
