View 14 RepliesNot seeing anything anywhere about this; I'm sure I'm over looking it, but starting today I seem to be getting almost 25% battery drain per hour. I've used my phone very little today, so I'm not over using it. This started this morning and I've had the phone since the 8th I believe(ordered online)
View 14 Replies View RelatedAside from the obvious route of getting a larger battery, does anyone have tips for maximizing their battery life? So far the ones I have seen include turning off wifi when it's not needed and making sure all apps are closed when finished with them. Has anyone found any good ones?
View 8 Replies View RelatedOver the past 2 days my battery life is worse than ever, and I've had my Bold for a few months. I installed a few new apps - Xobni, PowerBoss, and the new version of BBM. I uninstalled Xobni and PowerBoss, so the only new app left on my phone is the new version of BBM. Anyone else experiencing recent battery issues or have any suggestions for me?
View 8 Replies View RelatedInitially, my phone worked quite well; battery lasted very well; daily charging was sufficient. Then, something changed a few months ago that has vastly increased power usage. Battery charge does not last past three to four hours. I even replaced my battery -- to no avail. Challenge continues. I am close to discontinuing phone usage and replacing brand.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLately my battery drains within 6 hours after full recharge. The drain continues even when the phone is off. I tried switching off my apps not in use and it did not help.My phone is only 8 months old and am frustrated by the unreliability of the phone as I planned to keep it for at least 2 years. Is there a way of fixing this without replacing the battery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded an app that has a separate battery indicator with a % remaining, so my question is, is there a way to hide the original one?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a battery pull last night and monopoly didn't push through to my phone. Is this a bad thing? My kid likes the game so I wanted to check it out. Do you have to be subscribed to something to have it? I am on verizon. I did notice that social beat or something like that did apear recently. Just wondering.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am suddenly experiencing vastly reduced battery life on my Bold 9650. It sounded the low battery alert in the middle of the afternoon on Friday and at around 8:30 p.m. today. The phone was off all day Saturday and was plugged into the charger from Friday night until the middle of this afternoon. This makes no sense to me, because I barely used the phone Friday or today, and as recently as last week, it was showing a good charge when I'd plug it in at 11 p.m. after a fair amount of usage through the day. Even on days of heavy usage, I've been making it until bedtime without the low battery alert. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to track this down without buying a new battery?
One difference in the last few days is that I have been home (some kind of human virus) all day, but I live a block from the cell tower, and my wifi signal reaches throughout the house pretty well. I thought that Friday's problem might have been interference from a wifi tablet, but I have scrupulously kept them apart today. Bluetooth is on, but that's normally the case. The battery is relatvely new, bought within the last six months from a vendor on Amazon. It appeared to be identical to the factory-installed battery, which lasted about a year-and-a-half.
Background apps that have been running on both days have been Blackberry Messenger, Facebook, Password Manager, BHive Tasks, Google Maps, Google Search, and Evernote (which says it last synched on Nov. 27th). Nothing unusual.
Phone: Blackberry Bold 9650
Carrier: Verizon
OS version: 6.0 Bundle 3084 (v6.0.0.719, Platform 4.4.0.560)
No Enterprise service

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone is 3 days old and did not have issues until last night. The browser allows me to initally connect ot a webpage, but will not allow me to click on any links. The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?

I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas?
Thank You
Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if I get a Bold 9650 next week and I back it up with all my apps and settings from my backed up Storm2 9550 file will that happen successfully or should I just reload all apps from scratch?
BTW: I have SocialScope on my Storm2 will it be an easy transfer to my Bold 9650?
Anyone else have this problem? I usually sleep with my Bold in bed with me (who doesn't) lol, and have been waken up many times to a sizzling hot phone. like burning up hot. I put it on the nightstand and seems to cool down. but I always slept with my tour laying next to me in bed, and it never got that hot. Please let me know, or test this theory tonight Just want to make sure it is not a bad phone or battery. thanks for your time.
Not being weird its my alarm clock and i don't have a nightstand on my side of the bed and I sure as heck am not leaving it on the nightstand with my wife's bold. mine needs comfort lol. Also i realize this may have been posted before, but i am more looking for 9650 specific threads. and more charging specific threads as well.
Is the keyboard on the 9650 exactly the same as the 9630? Or is it the same as the keyboard on the 9700? The keyboard on the 9700 is much nicer in my opinion to that of the 9630 as its a little wider it seems and keys seem a touch bigger.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSince my contract is up on Sunday (for me and my mom anyways, my dads isn't until october, so they are making us pay the early termination fee or go without a phone for 3 months, oh and this is Verizon i'm talking about, but you probably could've guessed that) and I am thinking about either getting a bold 9650 or curve 8530 for Sprint, since Verizon makes you add $30 onto each blackberry(crooks). But I was looking at the features and I would like the Bold but for some reason the cheapest I can find it is $99, while the Bold for Verizon I can find for free. My question is, is the Bold a lot better, enough to spend 100 dollars instead of 50? and why is it that I can find the Verizon bold for free but not for Sprint?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am going to switch to Sprint, coming from AT&T (iPhone 3G) and I'm currently looking to buy a BlackBerry. I will mostly use it for BBM and not necesarily for web browsing. Which is best for me, the Curve 8530 which is free or the Bold which costs $150?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI searched but could not find an answer so I apologize if this has been brought up before.I was one of the fortunate group that was able to exchange a defective tour for a brand new in box bold. I was going through the device switch wizard today when I happened to be holding both devices side by side. I noticed that the screen on the bold is significantly more yellow than that of the tour. I have not noticed this issue discussed previously.Do I have a defective unit or is this the standard bold screen? Thanks for any input/info you can give. Sorry for the poor pic below (taken from wife's 8900). Bold on left, tour on right.

My dealer tried to correct it by removing the battery and restarting the phone. When it starts it shows a java uncaught exception for java.lang.NullPointerException
View 1 Replies View RelatedI often hear many people complaining or wanting to have the Bold 9650 look like the Bold 9700. I found this picture of the Tour 2 9650 splitting with the 9700 Bold to show the differences between of the Bold 9650 if it stays the same without changes, this is what the difference would be compared to the Bold 9700.as you can see, the only difference if the Bold 9650 stays the same as we see here when the final release comes, is that the Bold 9650 has a somewhat larger bezel VS the 9700 Bold. Other then that, you can see from the pic, nothing else is different on the face of the phones in looks.just thought it was pretty interesting(left side is the 9650, right side is the 9700.
