Had a tour, stunk so bad I opted asap to upgrade to the Bold. Not much better, except no roller ball messing up.I linked FB to my tour, my contacts and FB linked with my phone perfectly. When we received the Bolds, I linked my wife to FB, hers is doing great. My contacts and FB are not linking up. I do not get the pictures from FB from people that call me who are my friends on FB. Went to a Verizon store to have them look at it...they referred Crackberry. lol They couldnt get it do it,
Im super siked the the 9650 has arrived and im ready to get rid of the 8330, but with every smartphone of mine i've always had a black silicone smooth skin and a screen protector so if i buy a tour 9630 skin and screen protector will they fit on the bold 9650 right?
My phone is 3 days old and did not have issues until last night. The browser allows me to initally connect ot a webpage, but will not allow me to click on any links. The cursor switches appropriately when just navigating vs. hovering over a link, but the track pad will not regist any "clicks".Has anyone encountered this or know of the fix?
Wondering if any of u have gotten ur verizon 9650? If so have u noticed ur trackpad left side being higher than right? I ask becuz as we all may know the sprint 9650 has that. Doesn't bother me...nor do I think its defect.
Since my contract is up on Sunday (for me and my mom anyways, my dads isn't until october, so they are making us pay the early termination fee or go without a phone for 3 months, oh and this is Verizon i'm talking about, but you probably could've guessed that) and I am thinking about either getting a bold 9650 or curve 8530 for Sprint, since Verizon makes you add $30 onto each blackberry(crooks). But I was looking at the features and I would like the Bold but for some reason the cheapest I can find it is $99, while the Bold for Verizon I can find for free. My question is, is the Bold a lot better, enough to spend 100 dollars instead of 50? and why is it that I can find the Verizon bold for free but not for Sprint?
I am going to switch to Sprint, coming from AT&T (iPhone 3G) and I'm currently looking to buy a BlackBerry. I will mostly use it for BBM and not necesarily for web browsing. Which is best for me, the Curve 8530 which is free or the Bold which costs $150?
I searched but could not find an answer so I apologize if this has been brought up before.I was one of the fortunate group that was able to exchange a defective tour for a brand new in box bold. I was going through the device switch wizard today when I happened to be holding both devices side by side. I noticed that the screen on the bold is significantly more yellow than that of the tour. I have not noticed this issue discussed previously.Do I have a defective unit or is this the standard bold screen? Thanks for any input/info you can give. Sorry for the poor pic below (taken from wife's 8900). Bold on left, tour on right.
What exactly will my IT department have access to on my BB if I allow them to connect me to their BES server. I would love to get my email and calender items; however, I do not want them to have access to my personal mail and/or my texts and so on.The BES server feature is great; but RIM really needs to have a way to basically partition your device. To allow you to link with one phone to your work and have all of your personal items; yet keep them separate so if you leave the company and they wipe your device they only wipe the company side. Not all of your personal data.
I would like to access a file on my SDCard directly from a link in the Notes section of my Tasks application.
I am able to put a link there and access a web page, simply by typing a web address (e.g. http://www.sample.com), which converts to a link after I close and re-open the task. From an open browser window, I am also able to access a file that exists on my SDCard (e.g. file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/documents/sample.pdf will go fetch the file and then open my default PDF reader just as it ought to). But when I type "file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/...etc..." into the notes section, it remains as text, and does not get recognized as/ converted to a link to the file.
no matter what settings I use on the 9650 "Memory" settings. I cann't get any computer (Windows 7 or XP Pro) to recognize the device as "mass storage device" so I can access the memory card. There is plenty of items on the card, and I can access them fro mthe decive, but the computer won't "find" it. This is with DM 5.0 and 4.7, on windows XP Pro and Windows 7.
I purchased the 9650 bold a few weeks ago. I do not do a lot of texting, but when I do, the texts are pretty long. On my old BB I hit the back arrow key and it saved to draft, (i would often have 4-5 texts in draft before I sent all out) If im not mistaken you cant do this on the new 9650?? Do I need to get an application to assist with this? ANy suggestions? Sorry if this is a rookie question but...Im a rookie when it comes to these phones.
When I upgraded my 9630 to my new bold 9650 I had a 16gb micro sd card in the 9630. I copied all of the files from my card to my computer, put the 16gb card in my 9650 and formatted the card. I then copied all of the files from my computer back to the sd card and put the card back in the 9650. All seems to be ok, I have my pictures etc. When I go to connect my BB 9650 to my computer I get a message on the BB that says: "Content rights do not match this device. Please insert the media card back to the right device." this only happens if I have the memory option set to "Auto enable mass storage mode storage set to NO" Any ideas? Thank You
Is anyone else having trouble using the "Vibrate in Holster" setting? My 8330 would automatically switch to vibrate when I put it in my holster that has the magnetic closure. My 9650 fits in the same holster but doesn't seem to switch to vibrate even though I have that setting chosen under my sounds profiles.
Just wondering if I get a Bold 9650 next week and I back it up with all my apps and settings from my backed up Storm2 9550 file will that happen successfully or should I just reload all apps from scratch?
BTW: I have SocialScope on my Storm2 will it be an easy transfer to my Bold 9650?
My 9650 Bold has stopped recognizing word or name prompts for voice dialing. It still works for phone numbers but not names like "John Smith" or words like "home". My dealer tried to correct it by removing the battery and restarting the phone. When it starts it shows a java uncaught exception for java.lang.NullPointerException
I often hear many people complaining or wanting to have the Bold 9650 look like the Bold 9700. I found this picture of the Tour 2 9650 splitting with the 9700 Bold to show the differences between of the Bold 9650 if it stays the same without changes, this is what the difference would be compared to the Bold 9700.as you can see, the only difference if the Bold 9650 stays the same as we see here when the final release comes, is that the Bold 9650 has a somewhat larger bezel VS the 9700 Bold. Other then that, you can see from the pic, nothing else is different on the face of the phones in looks.just thought it was pretty interesting(left side is the 9650, right side is the 9700.
I imported B Berry Bold 9650 from America and everything worked well with the local network provider for more than a year. On July 25 th my internet connection stopped working. My network provider says they did a network upgrade and all foreign phones are now unable to connect to the internet. They say their is nothing that they can do for me. Just before my ph was disconnected I tried to download the Blackberry App World Version 3.1.4.25 Could this have caused the problem?
Anyone else have this problem? I usually sleep with my Bold in bed with me (who doesn't) lol, and have been waken up many times to a sizzling hot phone. like burning up hot. I put it on the nightstand and seems to cool down. but I always slept with my tour laying next to me in bed, and it never got that hot. Please let me know, or test this theory tonight Just want to make sure it is not a bad phone or battery. thanks for your time.
Not being weird its my alarm clock and i don't have a nightstand on my side of the bed and I sure as heck am not leaving it on the nightstand with my wife's bold. mine needs comfort lol. Also i realize this may have been posted before, but i am more looking for 9650 specific threads. and more charging specific threads as well.
Is the keyboard on the 9650 exactly the same as the 9630? Or is it the same as the keyboard on the 9700? The keyboard on the 9700 is much nicer in my opinion to that of the 9630 as its a little wider it seems and keys seem a touch bigger.
I finally got a chance to hold and try both models side by side, and it's amazing what a difference the extra 2mm width of the 9650 makes to the keyboard. It is considerably better and more like the original Bold 9000.
Blackberry make a mistake in shrinking down the Bold 9700 too much. It really should be a few mm wider to optimise the keyboard - which is one of the key diferentiating features of the Bold series. The extra size would also prevent Blackberry losing valuable corporate customers who really need a great keyboard and don't mind a more substantial device.
I'm working in an area of Virginia in a few weeks (National Boy Scout Jamboree) and I was told that the Sprint coverage is "very spotty to none xistant".AT&T is a sponsor and is "saturating" the area with voice and data coverage. Can I just go to an AT&T store and buy one of those "one month" or "pay as you go" sim cards and throw it in my 9650??That seems to easy. Do I have to change any settings on my phone??? Will my email still get pushed to it? Anybody ever do this before?Yes, I know I'll get a new number but that's not an issue to me.
My wife's computer does not see her or my 9650 as a 9650 just a generic Blackberry. Since the file manager of the OS never sees it as a 9650 her DM also does not recognize it as a 9650.
It had been raining for a couple of day, and my back yard began to start flooding. Like any good pet owner I went out back to check on my dog and to also make sure he wasn't in harms way. I had placed my phone in the pocket of my rain coat, thinking it would protect my phone from the rain. I failed to realize the pockets repel the water, but also retain the water. Needless to say my phone, which was inside of an otterbox at the time, was soaked.
I pulled my phone out and immediately disassembled it. I then placed my phone in a bowl of rice for 3 days. I tried to power my phone up on the third day, and the screen won't work. The red light comes on for about three seconds, and then the hour glass appears. Instead of proceeding to the "rebooting" screen, the screen goes blank.
