We still run a number of BOLD 9000's at our office. Two of them have had updates run on them this week and now neither of them will operate while on charge - this is the same whether connected to power charge, PC or in car. The operator has to manually reconnect to antenna and wifi each time.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy BOLD 9000 after one year and a half of good work, don't charge more the battery, sometimes the battery icon have the yellow lightning on, sometimes it doesn't appear, in any case the battery don't charge, I tried with a new charger (original) and a new battery (original) nothing to do, in very rare case the battery seems to charge to 20%, (old or new) after with the yellow lightning on the charging don't go on. I tried also from the PC the yellow lightning appear but nothing. Now the warranty is still valid, there is something I can do or it is better for me to send the phone to assistance ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm desperately need your help over this matter, i have sent to couples of repair shop, but still, they cant rectify my bb bold problem.My bb wont charge as the result, it wont open and load to the homepage. even if it did, it will repeatedly load the OS.Can someone give me some leads on this problem? something to do with technical errors. Btw, my battery is fine, tried switching it with my friend's bold, and it works. .so no problem with the battery. .
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I put my bold on charge it almost instantly reboots itself. Sometimes it will be reboot itself again and again whilst still booting up. This can happens 5 or 6 times in a row.When not on charge my phone is totally fine.I have been charging my phone at night and in the morning it is usually charged up (even if it does reboot constantly) however the other morning it had not charged.It also does this when I have tried to charge over USB (connected to my iPod usb mains adaptor) so it's not the charge.I'm running 5.0.0.411.
View 4 Replies View Relateda few days ago about my blackberry 9000 that would not turn on or be recognized no matter what i did when connected through usb to the pc, instead it flashed 4 red lights over and over.i drained the battery in my friends husbands bold 9000 till it was fully dead to test out a theory: i popped it in mine and put the blackberry on charge - no lights at all and no lights now (its been charging 10 hours in a wall plug)does a bricked (this is what the shop techie said when taking it to him for a fix and then refused to fix it for me cause its a paperweight) blackberry still charge up normally? mine isnt charging the battery so im wondering if the reason its undetectable by my pc is because the charging ports faulty or is it standard that a bricked blackberry no longer bothers to charge your battery because it wont turn on

I'm planning on ordering it form sw-box.Thing is though, I don't know how to replace the port.Do I have to desolder? has anyone ever done this before? Any help/feedback will be appreciated.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI jsut got a new battery because my last one did this. and i went to bed i left it pluged into the wall charging and i turned it off. the leds were blinkin yellow dunno if thats normal nvr doen this before. and when i woke up i cant get the phone on and all i can get is battery blue charging symbol. View 1 Replies View RelatedMostly great phone/berry but the SMS bug (I too do not feel like editing my several hundred contacts to remove the "1" from everyone's phone number) and an email bug (red star for new email or message stays on even after message is read. have to open and close message folder a few times to get it to disappear) have me wanting an updated operating system.I've read the posts on how to do it - but it won't work for me. I've downloaded o/s from providers with updated systems. Deleted vendor file. Used loader to install to my device. Either it (a) shows "no new updates or software is available for your device" or sometimes it shows the apps and programs on my phone and asks what I want to add or load. But no new OS is available to add. Weird.
I've tried deleting all BBerry software off my computer before doing this and then starting fresh - but with the same result. I even tried wiping the OS off my berry before i started and it wouldn't load a new OS -- only could load the Telus OS.I have updated OS before and it's worked - but not this time for some reason.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.

I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...

The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Blackberry 9700 for about 5 months. In the beginning I would get about three days out of my battery, with normal use. About a month ago I noticed the data symbol operating all the time (data in and data out) and my battery started lasting less than a day (even on days that it was hardly or never used). I took it back to Telstra (Australia) who sent it away and then provided me with a replacement (with no explanation of what was wrong with the first one.) Unfortunately the new one does exactly the same thing!
I have been on numerous websites looking for an answer to no avail. I have tried all the battery saving hints and check I leave nothing open. I have rebooted daily, still to no avail. I am on the brink of tossing it and going back to Nokia, which is a great shame as I had been really enjoying my Blackberry until now. The nature of my business means that I have to have a phone that is reliable and will work for more than 12 hours away from a power source.
I feel something is operating behind the scenes but I have added nothing. I haven't even put my email on this new one yet and I am a little tech challenged so I have loaded no new apps or anything, it is as new.
It is : Blackberry 9700, v5.0.0.351
The top row of my keyboard has fine scratches on it, is there anyway of polishing these out?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.

Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 that keeps going to contacts no matter what icon I click on.I tried upgrading the OS and the phone worked fine for about an hour and then went straight back to only going to contacts. The same thing happens when I downgrade.I am unable to make calls or do anything from the contacts list. The phone is basically unusable.
I have tried the upgrade and battery pull and restore from back up.Does anyone have any suggestions of what this could be and how to fix it.

I'd appreciate opinions from folks who had a Curve 9320 who upgraded to a Bold 9700. I love the Curve, but am starting to have issues with long periods of watching the hour glass, but also mechanical age issues, like a metal pin that poked through the 5/D key.My only complaint with the Curve, other than the amount of time it spends thinking about itself, is that I could never use weatherbug or any of the weather apps, they just ground everything to a halt.
