I'd appreciate opinions from folks who had a Curve 9320 who upgraded to a Bold 9700. I love the Curve, but am starting to have issues with long periods of watching the hour glass, but also mechanical age issues, like a metal pin that poked through the 5/D key.My only complaint with the Curve, other than the amount of time it spends thinking about itself, is that I could never use weatherbug or any of the weather apps, they just ground everything to a halt.
My carrier is T-Mobile (Albuquerque, NM) Platform 184.108.40.206 OS 220.127.116.11 Memory Total: 55GB Memory Free: 8 GB (after deleting a bunch of photos, texts, etc)
I am a noob so please forgive me ..i had a booting error yesterday where the red light stuck on with a black screen and i had to pull the battery (luckily for me it revived) sadly after it loaded i realized i lost all my contacts however this happened when my brother soft reset it when it was connected via usb to the pc so i guess some current interference buged the loading process. Then today i soft reset my bold i got a white screen with app loader i believe 523 error reset or something, i cant quite remember but i think thats it however i hit either the end key or the enter key (sorry to so vague guys i got scared) ....after i pressed those buttons it began the reboot cycle ...loaded up and has been fine ever since..just wondering if you think i should upgrade my Os or just leave it i am on 18.104.22.168...
My Bold 9000 is running OS4.6, but I want to upgrade it to OS5. However, when I plug it in and run the desktop manager, it says there are no updates available? Is there a way to 'force' the bb to update?

I am using BB Desktop version 5 and tried to update my device to OS 5 from AT&T. My Bold 9000 is now dead. My desktop manager stated a fatal error, then my device reset. And the only thing that displays is the Orange AT&T screen. How can I get the device to function again. I did a back up and a sync prior to the install.
I have searched but can't seem to find any answers to this following issue.I have a Bold 9000, and for some reason the SMS message tone, and my ringtone have suddenly gone very quiet.I upgraded to 5.0 a while ago, and everything was ok, then a couple of days ago the volume went very low, even though it is turned upto 10 in the settings.I'll have another look about and see if I can find some answers, but in the meantime if anyone can post some fixes I'll be over the moon.
I got this problem after i upgrade my bold to OS 126.96.36.1991 .I received 1 txt message and everything seemed fine.. at least I thought so ;A bit later I got a second txt (SMS) message but the content of the msg didn't make any sense as it seemed only relevant to another person in my contacts...
I had one sms in my SMS/MMS inbox and all SMS that came in after that appeared to be from the same person although they weren't! .... In other words, I get the threaded SMS but showing ALL incoming messages as being from the same person (the first one that sent me SMS after I installed the OS 188.8.131.521)!
After downloading an upgrade to Bold 9000 device received "App error 202 reset" message. Tried to reset and even removed the battery for a hard reset (about 4 times) with no success. Same error message. Any ideas anyone? Cannot reset.
Just upgraded (?) to os 184.108.40.2061, Bold 9000 on Telstra Australia. This update was offered via an email from RIM.The "Tasks" icon has now gone, and I cannot synch my tasks with Outlook.Any ideas how I can get the "Tasks" back, or should I try again to re-install the update?
Ok, So I was wondering if I were to take the plunge and upgrade to 5.0, since ATT hasnt released it yet and shows no signs of releasing it anytime soon, Will my memopads and password keeper information still be there when I load up 5.0? I have alot of stuff on these so losing them would mean no upgrade for me....Also I dont have a data plan, that wouldnt cause any problems right?
After upgrade my bold from 4.6 to 5.0, when system starts appear a message box with a text like this:"This mobile device contains confidential software and property of RIM etc..." at the end has a OK button but I can't click! I press the scroll, enter key, space key and nothing! If I don't click in this button I can't do anything in the phone!
If I pull over the batery and boot the phone, it's starts normally and this screen appear again and I stuck again!
I've had my Bold 9000 since August 09 and had no issues with it whatsoever. I performed a software upgrade two days ago to version 220.127.116.113 and now my battery drains within a few hours. The phone was on charge overnight on Thursday, for example. I took it off charge at about 9am and by 1pm, with virtually zero use, the battery was drained. The phone goes in to standby no problem. This morning I took it off charge at 9am and by 1130am the battery is 50% drained.
Just upgraded to 5.0..592 yesterday. During the upgrade I backed up my data. The restore went wrong. I have hundreds of messages marked as new, but I cannot find them. The new message indicator shows over 600 messages as new, and that is not possible. When I started the upgrade I had 8 new messages. For example, I have a message I sent to a friend. Our SMS exchange was 4 messages, now it is hundreds of my reply. I presume the error on restore is the problem.
How can I clear this? Do I need to wipe the device and start over? It's no biggie if I have to wipe. Just wondering if I can delete the backup file and possibly the messages file/database on the BlackBerry. If it matters, it is an ATT Bold 9000.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.
