May 7, 2011I have tried everything I know to find a ring tone which lasts long enough to get the phone out of my pocket with no success - whatever ring tone I select ends in under 3 10 secs and then registers as a missed call. I called O2 and was told to look on the blackberry site - where it seems to indicate that it's down to O2 to adjust this feature.

Sep 6, 2014I realized that after upgrading to WP 8.1 on my Lumia 1520, the play time for sms ringtone was shortened. My customized ringtone would start cutting halfway through around 4 to 5 sec and that bothers me. Right now I have an 8-second ringtone set for my texts but obviously it doesn't play the whole thing. Is there something I could do in settings that could fix this problem ?

Sep 10, 2010I have searched but can't seem to find any answers to this following issue.I have a Bold 9000, and for some reason the SMS message tone, and my ringtone have suddenly gone very quiet.I upgraded to 5.0 a while ago, and everything was ok, then a couple of days ago the volume went very low, even though it is turned upto 10 in the settings.I'll have another look about and see if I can find some answers, but in the meantime if anyone can post some fixes I'll be over the moon.

I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. Aug 30, 2010I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

Dec 5, 2011I have a new 9900, and the battery lasts less that 12 hours, even with minimal use. I loaded all the latest updated, only have Wifi turned on, and one weather app., no downloads. Sunday I was a home and only opened it the phone 5-6 times, did not make a single phone call, and received only 5-6 e-mail. It was still drained after 12 hours. This is the 3rd BB I have had in 7 years and the first with this problem, use my last blakc berry over 3000 minutes a month and receive 50+ mails a day, and the battery lasted a day or two no problem.

Sep 18, 2010A few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

Mar 23, 2012There is one person in my contacts that I cannot text. It always comes up with a red x and says "Short message transfer rejected". The person can still text me, though, and I have no trouble calling the number. It only happens with this contact.I have tried deleting the contact and re-adding, taking out the battery and sim card, but it doesn't work.

May 28, 2010Made the huge leap from a crappy reg phone to the 9700 a month ago. Its been sweet till all the errors started happeneing. Was hoping someone could help me out.
Here are symptoms as I've noticed them:
1) Wouldn't get audible notifications anymore. Now alerts, no alarms, no rintones,no nothing. Went to my ringtone/alert settings and did "TRY IT" to test a sound. The message I got was something about invalid filename. I got this msg even for sounds native to the bb device!
I did a battery pull, then all was good
2) Same issue kept re-occuring and also noticed my battery would be 75% full when I went to bed. Then like RED (5%) when I woke up. The device was also HOT! I battery pull again. Voila! (Until the next time it happens)
3) Press voicedial button. Then it says "scanning contacts, please wait" it gets to 100% and does nothing. Even after an hour.
Anyone know whatts going on? The only thing I changed during this time frame was the SD card (2GB to 8GB). So I switched back to the old card. Issues still exist. I even deleted soduku (buddy told me to try this) but it didn't help.

Feb 19, 2010I was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.

May 26, 2010When typing using the backlight on either Live Messenger, or writing a document on Word or a long message, the device completely freezes and blacks out, with both screens, keypads being unresponsive. I have to take the battery out and put it back in to make it work again.This has only ever happened when I'm typing with the backlight on, and for a prolonged period. Backlight function is pretty much useless right now. Background apps are not the issue, and neither is any other function.The backlight is basically useless right now.
