i have just bought this new Nokia Asha 303 phone and i thought the software installed in the phone is incomplete because i cant seem to find the shortcut for nokia maps. I installed the nokia suite in my pc and check for software updates and it is up to date. I already tried factory reset, but nothing, still the same. Is it possible to restore the missing icon?

I just look at a GPS module original Nokia brand new, I use it with my Nokia 3720 Classic that Nokia Maps, but now wanted to use a device that I bought today at the Nokia Store, a Nokia Asha 302 has basically the same hardware Asha 303 but does not have Nokia Maps (Ovi Maps)and I can not find the program to install it, because Nokia has put in 303 Asha has no GPS and forgotten Asha 302?

Actually, there are blank spaces where languages were listed before update, with check marks, but without text (language name) visible. Although they can be checked (saying: "You have chosen multiple languages. Now using: english"), settings reset after each try.

Now all the contacs on phone memory are vanished!! while I still have the contacts which were on my SIM card. ( I have checked memory in use and switched it between Phone and SIM , but it does not work) Is there a way for me ? (for sure in order to recover the contacs on phone memory and not to vanish the rest on SIM!

I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011. I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence). Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function.When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine. I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I've just to go back to my very old Nokia 7610 after my phone was stolen last week. However, there's a symbol on it that I don't remember from when I used it before and I can't find any information about it in the userguide or anywhere on the web. It looks like a padlock icon, black with a white T shape in it and it appears below the battery indicator. It's there all the time and never goes away.

For some reason it is listed in my apps when I go to settings, but the icon is no where to be found so I can't ever open it! I use poynt a lot and it uses bb maps to map out my travel, but I can't just open bb maps to do my own route with an address. What is the deal? A Blackberry Maps application has been installed on my device (version 4.6.1), but the icon to start it up is missing. I have seen some posts regarding that problem but none of the proposed solutions seem to work, including reinstallation of the application (upon trying I get a message that Blackberry Maps is not compatible with the software I have installed). My usage isn't that much, yes I do chat on whtsapp and I know it does take up some of ur battery usage but then I have to keep it for charging twice a day. View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased Asha 302 about 20 days ago and while going through the features when I recorded some voice using voice recorded output was distorted, I contacted Nokia support through email and was told to restore factory setting. After doing the same I recorded and played AMR file it was fine but as soon as I received a call and then I checked the same recorded AMR file it was againt distorted. I reported same to Nokia support and was told to contact Nokia Care Centre which I visited yesterday there NCC people re-installed the software/OS but the problem persists. I was told that phone has to be sent back to company. I am having another Nokia C2 phone which is fine and no such problem there in that model.
