Oct 27, 2011I purchased a genuine Nokia 5610 XpressMusic slide phone quite a few months ago during a trip to China. The phone worked (and is still working) perfectly well. However, several weeks back I took out the phone battery and when I replaced it all of my contacts (JUST contacts) saved in the PHONE MEMORY were missing/deleted. I was only left with what remained on my SIM card. I went to Menu>settings >security >security level >memory to try fix it, then discovered that the PHONE MEMORY was now locked and its contents protected by a security code. I certainly did NOT set any security code on my phone (I only use a PIN code to access my phone - it works fine) and now, although my phone is fully functional, I can no longer save any more contacts to my phone (because the SIM card is full and the phone memory is blocked).I've used security code generators and also the typical 1234, 12345, 0000, 4444, etc - but NONE of them work.

Why can I not change my lock code in a 4-digit code? Why is it so important to make it a minimum 5 digit code? I find it very strange and I would like to know the reason.

Jul 26, 2011I am updating my 5230 from software v.40.0.003 to v.50.0.001, via Ovi suite (latest version 3.1.1.78).My XP SP3 Computer tells me to restart to finish the update time after time, without the phone update being successful (I remain with older phone software version 40.0.003).After a while computer gives Nokia error code 17011and recommends to reinstall Ovi Suite.I have already installed newest OVI suite, and have also tried with the Nokia Software updater.No success however.

I don't wish to do that, as I have a new ibootrom, so I near that jail breaking in the new OS is not yet possible unless I have made some smart decision in the past, which I don't know if I did. Jul 19, 2012I purchased Asha 302 about 20 days ago and while going through the features when I recorded some voice using voice recorded output was distorted, I contacted Nokia support through email and was told to restore factory setting. After doing the same I recorded and played AMR file it was fine but as soon as I received a call and then I checked the same recorded AMR file it was againt distorted. I reported same to Nokia support and was told to contact Nokia Care Centre which I visited yesterday there NCC people re-installed the software/OS but the problem persists. I was told that phone has to be sent back to company. I am having another Nokia C2 phone which is fine and no such problem there in that model.
