Updated Playlists Not Updating On IPhone Running IOS 7.1.1
Jun 26, 2014
This issue happened when iOS 7.1.1 came out months ago. It since cleared. Usually, I had to wipe my phone, and restore it to get all playlists and updates to a playlist to reflect on my phone.Â
Somehow, it started "working" for the past few months. Something changed this week and its doing it again.
THIS ONLY HAPPENS ON IPHONE. My iPad, iPods update with no issue.
My thought is there is some caching on the iPhone that i need to clear. When i add and remove the playlist, I see the size of the free space change. So i know iTunes is "seeing" the change. The iPhone isn't...Â
What I have done so far:
-HARD REBOOT / sync
-sync
-uncheck playlists/sync
-check playlist / sync
-reboot mac
-restart itunes
-checked for current versions of both (all updated)
I upgraded to 5.1 a few days ago and the "built in" smart playlists like "Recently Added", "My Top Rated", etc are missing from the Music app on my phone (iPhone 4, Verizon). All I see on the phone are my Genius playlists.I see the "Recently Added", "My Top Rated", "Recently Played" lists on my Phone in iTunes under DEVICES, but they are gone from my phone.I am able to create a smart playlist ("Recently Addled") and it *does* sync to the phone.I supposed I can get "Top Rated", etc, back, with a new smart playlist. Is there a limit to the number of playlists that will sync to the phone?
I followed the directions in the users manual on my phone as well as finding some tips in the communities but all say I should be able to only sync the playlists i want to transfer to my phone. when i plug in my phone to my computer and open iTunes, the device is there and when i click on it, shows the sync menu but won't let me change from downloading the entire library of songs and i only want a couple of play lists.
I'm using iTunes 10.6.1.7 and OS5 on my iPhone4. Whenever I create a playlist in iTunes and sync the two together, the iPhone alwaysalphabetizes the playlist, rather than keeping it in the arranged order I created in iTunes. I've read archived replies to a similar situation in 2007, where the problem was based on iTunes 7. Now, we're nearly 5 years and multiple versions later and the same problem still occurs. What gives? What's the use of taking the time to create a nice playlist on one medium only to have the second one screw up all your work?
I recently bought a new pc, because my old one was trashed. I had all the songs in a external hard drive. I put it on to my new computer but I don't want to manually put those songs back into the playlists that I had. is there a way that I can transfer the playlists from my iphone onto the new computer?
I used to have these thousands of empty playlists in my iTunes and a simple script fixed this for me several times. But now I see those exact same playlists ONLY on my iPhone so I tried to run that script but nothing happens because it only works for iTunes.Anyone an idea how to get all of these empty playlists gone at once?
I recently went through my itunes and deleted all of the songs and readded them to itunes after moving my song file locations. I then plugged in my iphone to sync to my re-done itunes. All of the music synced to the iphone except for when I went to some new playlists many of the songs did not appear in the playlist even though they were in the master list of songs. I have tries turn my iphone off and on and re-syncing the iphone many times. All of the songs are checked on itunes, my iphone is set to sync all checked items and I have my iphone set to sync all playlists on my itunes. Is there any way I can get the rest of the songs to show up in the playlists?
ps. It's an iPhone 4s and is less than a week old. I also have an ipad 2 but I'm afriad to sync pss. Most of my song files aren't from itunes and rather were downloaded onto a different computer as mp3s off of cds and were transffered to my new computer a while ago. They worked on my iPhone and itunes until i recently moved all of my songs to a file within my "music" file (for organization purposes)
I'm having difficulty in getting all the playlists that I have on my itunes to transfer on to my iphone 4, it wasn't always like this. I could see all my playlist before but then some off them vanished (I think this may have happened after I updated the software some time ago)
When my phone is plugged into my computer (so that I can see it on itunes) I can click on my named iphone and all the playlists are visable, for eg: my top rated, recently added, recently played, top 25 most played but when i look at the playlists on my actual iphone I can't see them there.
I created playlists on my iPhone 5, but iTunes only shows an older playlist with songs no longer on my iPhone, instead of the new playlists with the new songs. The Sync option under the iPhone Music tab in iTunes seems to be a computer-to-iPhone option only.Â
I don't care if it's iTunes or something else, I need an efficient way to backup a copy of my playlists (not necessarily the songs, just the lists of songs) for future reference and ideally with export/import options.Â
1) Is there any way to fix iTunes to show the playlists and allow them to be exported? 2) If no, are accessible copies of the playlists included somewhere in iPhone backups? 3) If no, is there an app that can accomplish the task of backing up these playlists?
My playlists are automatically erased from my iPhone when I connect it to my Mac and open iTunes. I have my music set to manually manage in iTunes and don't know why my playlists are getting deleted. I made the playlists on the phone and not through the Mac. What is going on?
I recently updated my iTunes software to 10.6 or whatever the newest update was and since then, I have been unable to sync all my playlists onto my iPhone. The Top 25 Most Played, Recently Added, and 90s Music won't sync to my phone. All the regular playlists are syncing just fine and 2 of the Smart Playlists I have are also syncing just fine. I've tried recreating the playlists but it still won't work.
Songs in playlits keep repeating the same song unless I manually advance to the next song. Is this possibly a setting somewhere in iTunes that I'm missing? When I first got the 4s I was not having this but I did an update from a previous install that was on my 3Gs and this started all over again.
Is there a way to make my Smart Playlists reappear in Music? After recently syncing my iPhone, all of the smart playlists disappeared on the phone itself. The entire library is on the phone as well as playlists I created, but the standard smart playlists no longer appear in the index of playlists. In iTunes, they still appear in the device's contents. I just can't seem to get to them through the phone itself.
I have iTunes Match on my on my computer but not on my iPhone(it cant be enabled). When I sync music, I do it by playlists. All the music syncs but not the actual playlist? I have tried taking the playlists out of iCloud by adding a video clip but to no avail.
i have been told that i shouldnt delete songs from my library even if i have converted them to my iphone device on the pc cause next time i will syns my ihpne to pc the songs will be deletred from my iphone as well.the list in the library under the music map gets too long so i want to organize those songs in different playlists.so my question is how do i do that?i tried to go to file and click on new playlist but that playlist shows up in the end.first u have library then store, iphone device, shared, genius ant then in the end playlists.so that playlist shows up here.so i wonder that is not under the library..so is those playlists a part of the library?i mean if i download a song here in the playlist category and not under the music map under the library will it be saved here when i convert that song to my iphone device.is this the same as library?cause i taught if i wanna make a playlist in the library it will show up under the library..
The music app on my wifes iphone 4 is showing duplicates for the recently played and recently downloaded playlists. also whenever a new playlist is created it shows twice on the list. some of theses cant be deleted. this is the only device that has this issue. is there any way to get rid of them?
I have a Mac Mini that I recently bought and transfered my iTunes Library from my previous Macbook to the mini. I can see all the songs in iTunes (running in the Mini) and can also play them, all playlists intact.
Now when I tried to synch my iPhone with the iTunes (in the Mini) it all went fine, except that after the synching a lot of my songs are missing from my iPhone.
I have read lots of questions about the Shuffle function and I am aware of how to turn it on/off by clicking once on the album artwork. In ITunes and on my Nano, I can choose a playlist and when shuffle is activated it only shuffles the songs in my chosen playlist. This is not happening for me in my IPhone. When shuffle is on, it shuffles through all the songs including across playlists. When it is off, I can only play the playlist in order.
Changes to playlists on my iphone are not syncing to I-tunes on new version. The new music purchases I make on my i-phone sync, but not the playlist additions/deletions. Once I sync the i-pnone to itunes, my phone's playlist is replace with what the playlist setup previously in I-tunes. I keep getting generic responses from support.
I have tried to slide the default playlists (such as top rated) to show the delete button like you would a normal playlist but that doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to delete them (without using a computer)?
