I live in an area that has no ATT service or any other service yet I use an iphone 4 with ATT service. My husband uses a T-mobile Android and while neither of us receive any cell signal, when our WIFI is on, my husband can receive and make phone calls with his cell phone. I on the other hand have not been able to figure out how the iphone may be able function in a similar way.

I have an iPhone 5S and it wouldn't find/connect to my wifi. I tried going and looking at connections available and my network wasn't listed, I also tried connecting manually and it would say "Unable to join network". My cousin has an iPhone 4S and it also happened to her, she checked with a nearby repair place and they said that we should restart out iPhone completely (meaning that our data etc. would be gone unless backed up) so my cousin took the risk and restarted her phone and it still was the same, "unable to join network" and no networks available. But for her it happened last week, mine today. When we went to the shopping centre our phone listed the free wifi networks.

I restarted my router and restored my phone to factory settings and it still wont connect to my home wifi. It will connect at work and everywhere else but home. Every time i try to connect it tells me "Failed to connect to WiFi please check your network connection" or whatever. And when i click on our home WiFi name it says the signal strength is Excellent....

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.

I recently got an iPhone from a friend that has a very strange fault. It can show a very strong signal (5 bars) but will intermittently not make or receive calls and texts. For example just with the phone sat here on my desk one min it will make outgoing calls and the next it just sits at "calling" with no ring tone for about 45 secs before moving to "Call Failed". Incoming calls sometimes work and sometimes go straight to answer phone. Outgoing texts sometimes fail to send and sometimes work.Just for a bit of background this is an unlocked 8GB iPhone 2G on firmware 3.1.3. I've tried both Orange and Tesco (O2) sims and both have the same problem. The Wi-Fi and everything else work perfectly and the phone itself is in good physical condition. I have tested the sims in an 16GB iPhone 2G with identical firmware and that works fine.
So any ideas what it might be? I've kind of discounted the sims and the firmware which only really leaves a hardware problem. Could it be a problem with the aerial or would that show a weak signal strength? Is it relatively easy to replace and would you recommend it?
I have been pretty happy with my iPhone 4 up until today but I have discovered a bit of a problem.When I touch the bottom left of the phone the signal drops 1 - 2 bars.It has not been dropping calls but I dont think my phone should be doing this. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I have a iPhone 4 that signed up to Sprint, and I've had this for 5 months and nothing happened. Now my iPhone is not sending text messages or sending calls. Even when my Sprint signal is high, it doesn't seem for the text messages to go through or heck not even the calling. Only when my iPhone is in Extended "Roaming" it could send texts and calls. I have a iPhone 3GS, and have had no problems with it whatsoever. However, recently whenever I am using an ap that is sending/receiving data (either through Wifi or 3G connection) my signal drops out every minute or so for several seconds, before searching and reconnecting, and resets my Wifi connection also. However, when simply texting or talking on the phone this doesnt occur. The problem seemed to have begun after installing iOS5, but since updating to iOS5.1, it still remains the same.
I have tried all the basics of reinserting my sim, restarting the unit, as well as trying a soft reset etc. It seems odd that the problem only primarily occurs with 3rd party aps, such as banking, chat and social networking including facebook.

My iPhone 5 has never had a problem with picking up a Wifi signal. I just moved to a new apartment a few weeks ago and my iPhone won't recognize any Wifi signal at all. My Xbox One recognizes multiple signals and connects with ease, same with my Macbook Pro. And my iPhone has no problem picking up Wifi networks at other locations (Work, Starbucks, etc.).Â

My 4s shows that I am connected to wi-fi and have a full signal, however it is not actually connecting to anything; safari, apps, can't send email, can't 'see' phone on my mobile phone tracker etc.
I tried reseting the network connections, which did solve the problem but literally only for a few minutes. So frustrating.
Has anyone got a permanant solution to this problem? All relevant software is bang up to date. The phone itself is brand new, only 1 day old.
