Jun 21, 2012My daughter has an IPOD touch and I have an Iphone4. We have set facetime up on each device; however, when I try to facetime from the phone to the ipod, it rings but when she hits "accept" it never changes over to connecting. no problem the other way. She calls, it rings, I accept and it connects.

Sep 9, 2010All of a sudden today I try to make a facetime call with my i4 and call failed right away.
I try turning on/off facetime in settings but all I get is "Activation unsuccessful. Turn on facetime to try again."
I dont know what the prob is, I didnt install or change anything since a few days ago that facetime calls worked.
Im JB on 4.0.1 and also got Facebreak installed.
I been fighting with it for 3 hours now. Removed facebreak, reset network settings over 50 times, restarted, toggled airplane mode, facetime on/off and still nothing.
Anyone got any suggestions or what is causing this to happen and how to activate facetime without a restore.
I already had to do a restore and setup as new 3 times since I got it and its starting to get old.

Jun 22, 2014My wife and I both have a 5S running 7.0.2. A while back we started having issues with FaceTime connecting and I was reading that the Apple servers were having issues so I thought it was a temporary thing, but it has continued for months. I was able to use FaceTime on my phone to others, but she could not. Recently, we exchanged phones, and I reloaded ALL of my data and SIM card onto her phone, and vice-versa.  Now I am the one who cannot use FaceTime and she can. I have logged out of the Apple account and resigned in with my ID, rebooted, etc., but nothing allows me to make or receive FaceTime calls. If I try to answer a call, it just stays at "Connecting..." until it times out. If I try to make a call, it just rings and rings and then tells me the other person is not available.Â

I still cannot connect to FaceTime with anyone except my iTouch (under a different Apple ID) and have done ALL of the updates, trouble shooting, and followed every step to anything related to FaceTime the Apple Community suggested. I am at a loss as to what the problem could be...it says it is connecting but it never does and I have to end the call to get it to stop. They all can connect and FaceTime to each other but not to me or from me. I am running the latest iOS system, latest update on all Apps, checked restrictions, push notifications, you name it.

Mar 7, 2010Just upgraded from a pearl to a curve and al of a sudden am experiencing this apparently common problem.Sorry if this is a new topic on old subject but I am at end of my tether trying to find a solution. To date I have tried
Manual setup
Static IP
Phone restore
Battery removal
Sim removal
Router Restore
So, today, and purely for research purposes went to McDonalds for lunch and tried their Wifi (had a quarter pounder with cheese with sprite for those interested) and just like back at home, connects first time then drops then "failed to associate with network".I am on Orange with the Blackberry unlimited internet add on and everything worked fine with my pearl.Have tried Orange tech but , well the less said the better there.

Jul 21, 2010Just wondering if your bold drops calls as frequently as mine does. it seems that sometimes the phone decides to act up and gives me a 'call failed' message whenever i try to make a phone call. I always check how many bars i have and its usually at 4 or 5. sometimes a battery pull fixes this, but other times, the problem is persistent. my old bold 9000 had the same problem, so i'm not sure if it's at&t or blackberries in general.

Ok doesn't that really avoid having the ability to chat via video anywhere as advertised. Aug 10, 2010Hey guys I have a question. Me and my cousin both have iPhone 4s, both jailbroken and both have my3g. But everytime we use FaceTime with eachother the call only lasts exactly 1 min. It's very weird. Does anyone know the problem. And we have tried it many different. Times and at one point even in the same house and that lasted 58 seconds. It just says FaceTime call failed.

Aug 25, 2010Too bad the jailbreak is gone for new iphone's used 3G unrestrictor on a 3G facetime call today. It worked as good as wifi. Well, plus I am still on the unlimited plan. so I suppose that people would not use it then. But, why do they limit such a great feature of the phone. Plus it needs to be opened to Skype, etc. then people would really use it.
