IPhone 5s :: Siri Says - Don't Have A Number For And Content Not Available
Aug 24, 2014
I had a strange problem recently when trying to use Siri to "call my wife." This used to work (usually) well. However, it recently stopped working. I would say "Call my wife" and Siri would respond with "I don't have any numbers for Stephanie [our last name]" even though when I looked at her contact record there was clearly a phone number. There was also a Content Not Available message below Siri's response.
First, I tried a bunch of things: turning off an Exchange account I had for some Contacts, restarting the phone, turning Siri off and then back on (losing some data that makes Siri more responsive to me in the process). Finally, I removed the "spouse" relationship from my wife's contact record. That worked! I put "spouse" back. Broken again. Then I removed the spouse relationship from MY contact record. Then I tried Siri again. It asked "What is your wife's name?" I told it, and now everything works.I think what happened was that I had a contact for her in a different account (Exchange for work), linked it together with my record for her in iCloud in Contacts, and then later removed the Exchange account's record of her (since it was redundant and being based in Exchange her "iPhone" number was stupidly always labeled "other"). Unfortunately, it seems that somehow Siri/Contacts had linked to the now-gone version of her record. I'd like to see Apple improve this and other error messages in iOS.
How do I remove a 'wife' from iPhone. I told Siri that my partner was my wife then I married her and changed her contact details and now Siri thinks I have two wives and asks which one when I ask Siri to call or send a message.
After transferring a number from a previous carrier to a new carrier, I can no longer receive iMessages from my telephone number. People can only iMessage me if they know my Apple ID. I've tried restoring the phone, but I'm always faced with 'error' in the iMessage settings window.
I have only one cell number that will show up in my text messaging with just the number not the name. I have deleted it and reentered it. It has a + in front of the number.
We have an exchange 2010 server running sp2 with update rollup 1. We have done everything in the post stating that you need to run the commands to set an accepted domain and make sure there are no spaces in the domain name. We are still experiencing random "this message has not been downloaded" or "this message has no content" errors on our IOS devices. I was able to find one thing in common with all of the problematic messages and that is the internet header is missing the following lines:
I can't seem to send my own content mp3 files (home made) in a text message to people. Also, getting these mp3's into my phone seems to be more of a headache than it should be. I would like to be able to just have a "sync folder" I could synce my home made mp's to like you can for photos or voice notes or ringtones but for my mp3's.. But no, I have to go through iTunes and it just makes it a hassle and quite frankly puts my phone and apple in more control of MY OWN CONTENT than they need to be. Also, once my own content mp3's are in my phone, its like I have no control over them. They go to this place where my phone has all the control, I can't delete them directly from my phone, I can't email or text them to people...All the time from other people without iPhones I get mp3 files of funny skits, or jokes, etc.. Or more importantly our own content made songs. But I can't seem to do that with my iPhone. Can someone explain to me how I can ? Or explain to me why Apple has so much control over my own content if it is in a mp3 format on my iPhone ?
When I click on the All Mail Inbox on my iPhone 4S there are many messages with no content, a strange date 12/04/69, to name one, that cannot be deleted. They only show in the All Mail mode. If I click on the account mailboxes individually they do not show. Anyone seen this before?
I went to do a search on my iPhone in the App Store and saw the following screenshot. I was shocked that apple would allow this. What if it was my daughter's iPhone?!
My email messages show up but I can only see the preview. When I open the message it is blank, so I can basically only see the first line or two. Is this a setting that was inadvertently changed?
I'm planning to erase all content and setting of my iphone 4 ios 5.01.
My question is, after doing it what's next? do i restore from backup? will it still have the same ios 5.01 or itunes will automatically upgrade it to the latest ios?
I was just told by an Apple repesentative that Outlook Calendar will NOT sync with Iphone 4s with Wi-fi or through the icloud--only with the wire. Is this correct? All of the information in itunes at least IMPLIES that I can get automatic syncing.
I want to set a password-protected content filter (parental controls) for my iPhone 3GS.I have searched sites left and right and have not yet found a method to restrict content in Safari.
