My iphone5 has been shutting down for no reason, or at leas no one I know of. I've tried resetting it but ir doesn't does anything.
When I put it to charge, it shows in 20mins that is 100% charged, but in 1 hour without using it, the charge goes to 60%, then the battery starts working apparently normal. But it keeps shutting down at any time, without me doing something.

My Droid 2 can be on in my pocket with the battery saver enabled (screen off, but phone still on) and at any given time that I check it, I press the power button and find that it's off. I then have to remove the battery and put it back in and then turn the phone back on.

I restored it and then it did it again 2 days later - both times it was charging via wall socket. The phone had never been wet, and never dropped. I took it in to apple who promptly said I hadn't done anything wrong and gave me a new phone. I restore it from my iTunes restore point and now, low and behold, 1 week later - it's doing it again, except this time it wasn't even charging. It was sitting on a table and then....boom. Recovery mode which you can't get out of, even using the hold-the-2-buttons trick and its variations ...I've tried them all. It had been restarting all week for no reason and taking a long time for the apple-logo to disappear and OS to start.

My iphone 4 on 3uk network keeps losing 3g signal for no reason and its driving me mad. Switching it on and off restores signal for a while but it looses it again. My iPhone 3gs keeps turning itself off, then the apple logo turns up for like 3 minutes, and then it goes onto the lock screen and i go to unlock it and it just turns itself off again. It doesnt find reception and the battery goes in like 1 hour from 100% to 0. It also gets really really hot.

IS there one?...the standard tones given are frankly pathetic...why hasn't this been addressed by a software update?
I don't want to jail break my phone, I will end up breaking it and god knows what happens when you connect to iTunes and recieve updates of the OS to a jailbroken phone.
You would have thought the Apple iTunes store may have made a money spinner of alternative text tones.
I don't care about the new phone and 'multi-tasking', if I do more than one thing at a time I just get confused anyway but if the new iPhone doesn't address text tone this issue I may not buy it.
My verizon iphone4 just starting acting up were the voice control command pops up for no reason. I've turn off and on my phone a few times and it has not solved the problem.

I've noticed lately that my 3G has stopped working on my iPhone 4 for no apparent reason. I've tested it without the wifi on, so I know that there's no interference between the two. I've reset network settings multiple times, as well as resetting the phone itself (holding down the top button and the home button together). I usually get 4 or 5 bars, and I see the 3G symbol beside the bars. To the right of the 3G symbol is an icon that just keeps spinning indefinitely, while the phone tries to establish a connection. If I'm trying to open a page in Safari on the phone, I get the message "Cannot open page - Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet." I have the latest software update (iOS 5.1). I can connect to wifi without any problems, but when I disable wifi, and enable 3G + cellular data, I can't connect to the internet anymore.

So basically all of a sudden my wifi wasn't working, it just switched to data/3G. I thought the wifi was down so I just continued using data but after a long time I went to check and saw that the wifi was switched off and greyed out. I tried everything! I turned it on and off, I put airplane/do not disturb on, then turned my phone off waited 5-10 minutes, turned it back on then switched the modes off. It allowed me to turn the wifi button on so I thought it worked but no internet connections came up.
I locked my phone went to the movie theater then I noticed I couldn't even click on the wifi button at settings it just froze, same with trying to open up my texts, I couldn't even turn my phone off. I tried resetting network settings too. I finally restored it just now then backed up and now the wifi is turned off and grey again but everything else is working. I don't want to do the freeze/heating method so what else can I do? Is my only resort going in person to the local apple store?

I have even tried going to the home screen of the internet an clicking on Facebook an it does the same thing, but if i type Facebook in search bar I can use Facebook. Ive never dropped or spilled anything on my phone, and i've only had it for less than 7 months. It will randomly turn off and I will try to restart it. It freezes on the restart screen so i usually have to restart it again. Also, sometimes the screen will spit for a couple of seconds but thats minor compared to it shutting off on me 5 times a day. Im thinking its a hardware glitch, but at the same time i'm not very tech savvy! Im wondering if i have to pay for it and what's the process of them fixing/replacing my phone? Im a student and everything i have is on my phone so im really hoping i wont be without a phone for a week or so just so they can figure out the problem!

Okay so i got a gamestop refurbished iPhone 3gs and yesterday everything was working out great and the phone was working fine. Today on the other hand, i encountered my phone randomly shutting off by itself. Once it did it when i opened the camera app and the others were from txt messages or using the internet. The battery was around 50% or so too so it was far from a dead battery. Once the phone shuts off, sometimes i can reboot the phone and other times i need to plug it in to reboot.

My iPhone 4 developed a problem where it shuts itself off intermittently, sometimes at night when it is unattended (and yes, the battery was fully charged). It is my 2nd iPhone 4 with this problem, and from what I see on this forum, not an uncommon problem with this device. Apparently it is a known hardware issue with some iPhone's and the refurbished units they use as replacement devices have not been expunged of this circuit board demon.
Rather than swap out my phone for a new one (or even another refurb), I was given the possible explanations:An application is crashing the OS. (I interpret this statement as IOS 5 is no further evolved than Windows 3.1 where an app can crash the entire OS)An application may be using too much memory causing the phone to shut down (Really? No OS protection or throttling to prevent this?)A 3rd party application might have had a bad update in the App Store and Apple does not review updates (Really? So if I publish an app in the store, I can then update it with miscellaneous viruses and malware? Whoo Hoo)It could be usage (Translation: using an iPhone 4 to play music, run apps and make phone calls may cause the device to fail. Sounds like a breach of Warranty for Fitness of Intended Purpose) I am not an Apple hater. I just want my phone replaced with a non-defective device. I don't appreciate the total run-around and denial of responsibility on Apple's part.
