For handof, SMS, phone calls, they are connected to same wifi, so they can connected with each other ( in same apple id) but for instant hotspot there is no WiFi, so how will mac turn ON hotspot of iPhone.

I've got my S2 now for maybe 2 weeks now and only now I noticed that my Wifi hotspot function is not working. I tried that with 2 different SIM's (in different countries) with the same result. Tethering via USB works fine. I can switch on the wifi hotspot (open or secured) and I can even connect to it. On my Win7 machine I have a connection for a few moments, after that I lose connection and at the end I lose connection to the wifi hotspot.
On my blackberry I can connect the first time. That connection stays open for maybe a minute. After that it automatically disconnects and I cant connect anymore until i restart the hotspot. When I switch off the hotspot it takes a long time and it ends with error (the status under wifi hotspot). If I just enable hotspot and disable it again it is without errors. So this seems only to happen when a client actually connects... I tried already a factory reset and read somewhere to enable bluetooth before enabling the hotspot, but the problem stays the same ...
My IPhone 5 will connect to wifi and the cellular says LTE which usually would work. Safari will load pages VERY slowly but nothing else will work. The Facebook app says "Network Error"- Messages wont send and I cannot download IOS 7.1.2 because it says "Software Update Unavailable" I have tried restart and resetting my phone. I have also tried resetting my network setting. And I have tried more than one Wifi connection. Nothing is working.

My issue may not be specific to the Moto X 2014, but it's the phone I'm using. I'm able to tether my Moto X to my Dell laptop and use the internet, no problem.
But when I turn on the portable wi-fi hotspot, give it a network name, set security to WPA2 PSK, broadcast channel (either 2.4 or 5 GHz) and give it a password (at least 8 characters), it doesn't work. My laptop connects, but there's no internet data.
Given that I'm able to share my mobile phone data plan with my laptop via a tether, I'm curious as hell to know why the hotspot feature isn't work.
I have the iPhone 4 3G and also have a Kindle Touch. Can I set the phone to do a portable hotspot so I can use my Kindle without having to go to a Wi-Fi hotspot place?

When I enable Mobile Hotspot or share the connection through USB, the other devices connect just fine, but no data is received at all.

* To rule out carrier restrictions, I put the SIM in a Nexus4 and enabled Wifi tethering, then connected to it with the S5, works np, just not the other way around.
i have a problem with my galaxy S5 ATT. so im using Netgear wireless n-150 router WNR 1000,its updated,but the problem was before the update and after the update it is the same. i'm using yahoo,gmail and comcast emails.i was able to setup yahoo email without any problems,i can send and receive emails from my phone when connected to wifi and without wifi. but i wasnt able to add to that stock email app my gmail account and comcast while i was connected to my wifi.it gave me error that it wasnt able to connect to the server to verify information.
So I tried to set it up on the mobile network and there was no problem. so now when i connected to wifi in my house i cant receive emails or send them using gmail and comcast email,yahoo account is working fine. i checked all the settings,i reset the router,still nothing.the funny part is if i download gmail app it is working without any problems.and if i connect to any other wireless router,all 3 emails work. also when i connect to my wifi, I'm getting internet and i'm able to open pages without any problems. I was always using on other phones with Android 2.2 FroYo that 3G mobile hotspot feature, which was included right in the Android system under Wireless Networks settings.Now in Defy there is no option like that under settings in FroYo. Defy includes own app called 3G Mobile Hotspot, which should work like that option for creating mobile WiFi hotspots in other Android phones. But here is the problem.On my older phone with Android 2.2 I could create 3G WiFi hotspot wherever I needed and it worked. But now, with Defy, when I use that application 3G Mobile Hotspot, it writes me error when creating WiFi hotspot "Cannot set up data link, please contact your service provider" I suppose it is something with my carrier (Vodafone_CZ), but when I used 3G WiFi hotspots on older phones (which had that feature included right in Android settings menu) it worked without problems and I a used mobile phone for 3G internet sharing with my laptop.Now I remember, that I have deleted some DUN profile under APN Internet profiles, could it be that problem, that 3G Mobile Hotspot app is not working?how to create WiFi hotspot on my Defy for example with some other app?Or if not, how can I use Internet Tethering in Defy Mobile Networks menu via Bluetooth (my laptot has BT). The sim card in the iPhone is a German prepay (vodafone.de) with data enabled and I can receive emails and surf the web via the iphone

My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.

I have a iPhone 4 WITH the Personal Hotspot package thru Verizon Wireless. When I try to connect my laptop to the Hotspot, it says its connected with excellent signal, and then say it has limited or no connectivity. If you try to open up Internet Explorer it just says that it cant connect to the internet. When i go to details, it has an IP address, but no gateway or DNS addresses.
