IPhone 4s :: What Is Taking Up ICloud Storage Space
Jun 2, 2014
I'm using the default iCloud storage plan. Since this is only 5GB, I don't back up anything but WhatsApp besides contacts, mail and notes. I don't even have Photo Stream enabled. WhatsApp only takes up 1.3 GB, and I regularly delete redundant notes and keep my iCloud inbox completely clean (by forwarding emails to my other accounts), which would mean that my contacts take up around 3GB. This is impossible as I have only 100+ contacts and don't sync them with my Facebook contacts.Â
What's even weirder is that the iCloud usage tab tells me that there is 703 MB available of 5.0 GB on iCloud, but is unable to back up my phone due to needing an extra 3.9 GB of storage.how I could manage my iCloud storage more effectively.
I was wondering if the new iCloud features will allow me to store my photos on the server instead of on my phone. Â
By now, many of us must have an excessive amount of photos on our devices. It would be nice if I could 'archive' or 'keep on server' my photos from 2010 that I rarely access... but still have the ability to download them if I were so inclined. I am using GB upon GB in pictures and have no space for movies and music at this point.Â
Is anything like this possible? what about with iOS 8 and the new iCloud features?Â
I know if I create a stream it gives me the ability to download the whole thing.Â
I have an iPhone 5 and its at full capacity. Mostly due to my large music library. I noticed I can increase my iCloud storage to up 50GB with yearly payments. Does this increase the overall storage on the iPhone 5? Essentially, I am trying to increase how much music I can hold on my iPhone. If I add 10 to 20GB of iCloud storage, will I be able to add more data (audio files) to my iPhone?
How do I delete the 1,000 photos on my iphone 4S, but keep them to my computer? I want to start fresh with photos on my iphone and ipad. Remember that I don't want to lose these photos at all, just taking them off my devices. Please help me with that. Thanks:)
I use an Iphone 4. My problem is I have only 87 Apps on my phone and its showing I am using 2.1 GB of space. My biggest program is 58 MB and most are well below that.
Does the Iphone keep deleted applications on the phone after they are deleted?
Does it put a lot of "temp files" in the applications area?
There are 33 photos on my iPhone, why do they take up 1.3GB of space? It is killing the free space on my iPhone 5s. I've put the majority of my previous photos on my macbook pro, so the 33 are just recent photos and short videos (all less than a minute). Solutions?
So I have been running out of space on my iPhone and I have been doing the suggestions online said, and when I checked all the apps on my iPhone, my phone said the App Store was taking 1.3 GB of space on my iPhone. I've done searches and no one has mentioned this issue yet. Is there anything I can do to the App Store so it takes up less space? I plan to use the main ideas to get more space on my phone, but the biggest hog is the App Store...
I delete my text messages and afterwords they are still taking up the same amount of space when I check my usage on my phone. I have turned of spotlight search, synced to iTunes and none of that has worked.
I have a 16GB iphone but am an avid music lover. I own tons of music. I have iMatch and iCloud. As of right now my phone says I only use about half of the storage space on it in audio. Very litle is used for apps or pictures. I have another half of the storage space in a category called "Other". What is in that category? I would really like to add more music however my storage keeps stating I am almost full and need to manage. I would delete things if I thought it would make more room but it seems to take very little room off when I remove apps and pictures and does not really affect the other category.
I backed up all my photos from my Camera Roll onto iCloud, I want to delete them all on my phone for more space. If I delete them now, will they also be deleted from my iCloud storage, or will they still be available there?
I keep deleting apps and it keeps giving me the message that my storage is almost full. I have gone through and deleted everything I can think of besides my pictures and music but it isn't changing anything.
If I import my photo's from iPhone to iPhoto and let it remove them from my phone, they come back to my phone through the photo stream which is expected. But if i then sync iPhoto with my phone through iTunes, they also now appear under Albums in the Photo Library. Is this now using twice the storage for the photo's?
I have an iPhone 4s and I kept getting alerts saying my storage was allmost full, so I went in usage it said my messages were taking up 6.8 GB of data. I went and deleted them all even though I only had 18 conversations and after deleting every single one its still taking up 6.6 GB!I have no messages anymore but its wasting all my storage for some reason??
Purchased storage space because iPhone said I was to low. It directed me to iCloud where I purchased more space. Tried to download and upgrade and it still said I'm to low. How do I get my iphone4 to use the storage space?
I just received a new phone and I backed up my iphone this morning on my phone not my computer. When I came home to back up my phone from my icloud it will only upload the new one that I backed up instead of the old one I did that morning. That is my first problem. Now I need to know how I can edit the things in my icloud so I can delete space and take stuff out of it. I don't want to buy more space so how can I delete some things in my icloud?
I superstitiously keep about 20% of my iPhone 4's storage space free to account for OS swap files or data management - some sites recommend doing the same to keep the phone running snappy. Does this have any real effect on performance?
I went from an iphone 4s to 5s; backed up from icloud, but after a full 24 hours, it's not complete- is it stuck? Is there something I can do? Should I just wait?
I have just got an upgrade from 4s to 5c so now I'm trying to do a restore from iCloud, it's taking hours and hours, I'm not actually sure if any things happening, I can see my apps, but not all my photos. How do I know if it's actually working?
iPhone 5 not giving back my storage space even when I have deleted music and apps still says 0 bytes available also the phone will not connect to iTunes. What it could be also some of my apps are not loading...
I wiped my iphone 4 clean and did a install from last iCloud backup. The night before last around midnight. It's halfway restored on a 13gb backup. 30+ hours later. It's been on wifi the entire time except one hour last night when I ran to then store. I'm keeping it plugged in to the power outlet too. I've seen it take a while to restore before for approx 1 FB less. It's never been this long. WTHeck is going on? Can I push this process along at all? I tried to delete some apps that are waiting to be redownloaded...and 1 minute later
They were back on the screen... So that's not helpful.
what I can do about this... It's been downloaded my snapfish app for many many hours (they all took a long time..) this one is taking soooo long
[Lollipop] Under settings/Apps there is a list of apps together with the number of megabytes it ostensibly uses. I can click on that and see those megabytes divided into App and Date use.
But... Today I uninstalled "Real racing 3", which claimed to use up 84MB (app+data). Immediately after that, the amount of free storage climbed with a whooping 1.14GB ! (and total "App" usage decreased by the same amount).
Is there a more reliable way to find out how much space an app is using?
