IPhone :: Loading Web Pages Is Exceptionally Slow At 4 Than 3GS
Jun 29, 2010Loading web pages ..especially on Howard Forums and sending emails is exceptionally slower than on my 3GS. I can't compare yet because I'm waiting for my sim adapter. I was impatient with my 3GS on occasion..but not enough to complain about. With the iPhone 4 the data connection just spins without any movement. Signal strength doesn't matter. Typically I have five bars and still painfully slow-even just sitting on a table without antenna interference.Anyone else have the same experience? I'm wondering if I have a defective device?

Mar 25, 2010Not sure why, my N900 seems to be pretty slow in opening up web pages. The home screen says that I am on 3.5G. At times the page wouldn't even get loaded (white screen or connection error).To test if it is due to bad coverage, I pull out the SIM card and put it back to my N97. And the web pages seem to load a lot faster (and smoother). This is strange. Is there some settings I need to fiddle with? I have tried changing the memory cache size from 5MB up but the improvement does not seem to be consistant. Now, I set the cache to auto.

Jun 27, 2010Having just upgraded to the iPhone 4 from a 3G, I'm so used to everything working so smoothly that I'm starting to expect I can use it more like a computer. So its slightly disappointing to see that there's an 8-pages-open-at-a-time limit in Safari. For example, I like to click a bunch of thread links on macrumors just to read them one by one, but now you can only have eight at a time before the first ones you clicked start disappearing. Don't get me wrong, on the 3G after 3 pages were open, it would either start to get very slow or just crash, so this is a huge improvement, I just thought that with the 512mb of RAM it would be a bit more capable now. Was this the same situation as it was before? (mainly on the 3GS I guess)

Jun 23, 2014I just got my first iPhone, the 4s. v 7.1.1. I'm familiar with Pages on the iMac…but Pages for the iPhone - I can see how to change text that's already been written, but how do you choose the font size before starting the document? In the document manager, I'm selecting "Blank", to start. Once I start typing, the font is big enough to read, but to just open and read the document would be impossible, it's that tiny. Â
Also, in Document Manager, the document titles are totally impossible to read, and I cannot find a way to change their fonts.Â

Jan 22, 2010My phone has gotten to where when I am typing a text message it'll get so slow and almost freeze up and just stop and I got to wait and let it come back before I finish. I am running .131 on my Alltel 8330. Also, the 507 error I believe it is, happens to me a lot & I have had to completely reinstall the whole OS so many times. My battery doesn't really last very long at all. It doesn't compare to many that I hear about & my signal just isn't that great. Sometimes it runs good & won't really be that slow or lag but these past couple days it has been lagging bad & even with scrolling. Memory is NOT an issue I can reboot up with 45 & it'll go down to around 39 throughout the day.
I've tried .127 OS that my phone came with, used .131, used a hybrid before and tried .169 but the notification problem is too annoying.

Aug 12, 2010I just looked at my data usage and noticed I have already used 40MB. I'm on the 200MB plan and am only 5 days into my billing cycle. I've never used over 120MB a month and have only been away from wifi 1-2 days so far. All I did on 3G is surf a few web pages. Any ideas about what could be causing the leap in usage?

May 25, 2012I've recently purchased an iPhone 4s, 16GB model. Someone sent me 150 or so ebooks, all in PDF format, total size is fairly large at 3.7 Gig.
I've copied them across (using iTunes, latest version) and they view OK. However, when turning the page on ANY of the books, there is always a c. 5 second delay before the screen snaps into focus and the text becomes sharp enough to read.
Following the great look and feel I would like to buy an iPad but this is really putting me off. Someone suggested that the size might be too much for the device, so I deleted all but 1 of the pdf files, but it's still doing it.
