Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Android 2.1 - How To Install Java Application (JAR)
Nov 20, 2010
I have upgrade my Android version to 2.1, and it's very cool and so much better than previously 1.6, but I still didn't know how to install Java Application to my phone? In specification said that it supports Java through 3rd party application, I have try JBed, but I still didn't know how to use it?
When I try to install java app on nokia E6 it gives this error in middle of installation and stopsCom.nokia.mj.impl.storage.storageexception: servererror. Errorcode: -311
recently I have experience this problem, I have downloaded some application from Market, it's already 100% but it's not installed on my phone, when I click on it, still said downloading, even it's already 100% and I have been waiting 1 hours, is there any way to resuming download manually? If I press cancel download, it will start from 0 and will happen again, getting tired with this :'( but this is not always happen to all application, mostly big size application.

Mainly happens while on facebook mobile, and will occure while typing completely randomly. The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.
For a long time AT&T nee Cingular has locked me out of their MEdia (AT&T) Mall, and prevented me from running desirable apps by signing them with a "secret" certificate only available on their branded phones.Well, thanks to a2uploader and the recent acquisition of a locked AT&T phone I have been able to snag these Preferred and Trusted Java signing root certificates. As well as the entire AT&T customization package, which gives me a good template to play with my own if I so desire. (As an aside, I can also now download from the AT&T Mall using a Firefox add-on which allows me to spoof a particular supported phone's User-Agent string.)I digress. When I sent these certificates to my unlocked K850i it places them in the Trusted Cert store rather than the Java Cert store and the apps still have problems running and fail to install using the signed JAD. I have not tried it, but I assume my K790a will behave the same way. Now, the XML which defines the AT&T customizations references the certificates as well as the proper store location for them. Is this my only way to force a cert into the Java store? This also leads into how can I install client certificates?
On my minipro I have the Java enabled ticked, but it does not seem to be working on some web sites. Could anybody give me any advise on how to rectify this problem.
I bought my Xperia X10 in Abu Dhabi, now I know that the Android Market is not available in the UAE for certain reasons, I am just hoping that someone might have found a way around this.I do not want to flash or root my phone.Isnt there any other way of installing the market manually?

I am using AT&T Xperia X10.I tried to upgrade my firmware to 2.1.So, I need to download backup and restore application but it says 'For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market.'ALSO, there is NO unknown sources in applicaiton settings. I only have Manage applications and Development. There is NO Unknown sources. What can I do? Is there 2.1 firmware version that I can upgrade? How can I do?
Installing NON-android market apps/AT&T How do I install non-android market apps on myXperia X1 from AT&T? There does not seem to be abn option to allow this under settings. I cant evebn install sony apps.
I'm trying to dowload applications from 'market' and when I click on the application and press on Install I get the 'Accept permiossion' prompt and then press 'ok' . On receiving the 'Item downloading'n message I assume that everythiong is ok but that's where the process stops and my applications seem to be in a frozen state of download without ever actually downloading.
I've visited the Orange store in Leicester today and waited 40 minutes for an 'Expert' to tell me that the fault lies with Android 2.1 and if I download 2.2, everything will be fine. Oh how I wish. Clearly 2.2 is not available as a download for the X10 and I'm now at my wits end as to know what to do apart from taking a large sleddgehammer to the phone!
i can't sign in to Facebook using the android application. it's same with my gmail too. also i can't download from the android market because it tell me 'there is no phone linked to this account'.

I don't have any file manager on my phone and even if I manage to download one, I don't know how to install it!I've tested some apk files on my SD card, copied them in "others folder" and also directly in the SD card. But could see none of them when I went to settings/applications/manage applications. So how on earth can I install a software or application on my phone? I even can't access a file manager to find them!
I am trying to install the back and restore download on my Xperia X10 phone, but I get an "install blocked" message. It says that my phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market
