Jan 10, 2012I've only had this pig of a phone a month and twice I've had to restore factory settings because I couldn't send texts or see my contacts, which means that I also had to re-do all my settings.
The messages I've had are - Activity Contacts (in application Contacts) is not responding. Force close or WaitSorry! Activity Messaging (in application Messaging) is not responding. Force close or WaitSorry! The application Messaging (process com.sonyericsson.conversations) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close
Turning the phone off and on doesn't help and the failing applications aren't there in Settings > Applications > Running Services, so I've performed Factory Data Reset, not SD card, then done all my settings again. This is really bugging me.
The phone is up to date, with Android version 2.3.4
Xperia X10 :: Stock Messaging App Converts More Than 3 SMS-es To MMS?
Dec 7, 2010I've been using the stock messaging app and ChompSMS on my X10. After updating to 2.1 I wasn't going to install chomp since I found the stock app good enough. Then I noticed that if I type an SMS, longer than 3 SMS-es, it gets converted to MMS. And there is no setting to disable that. I have free SMS-es, I don't want to send MMS-es and pay for them. :S Why are there no settings for this in the app? Are they somewhere else in the phone?

Jan 23, 2010My Nokia 3600 converts SMS into MMS automatically if the numbers of characters exceeds 918 (6 SMS).If I delete some characters sometimes it offers the possibilty to reconvert to SMS in the 'Options' menu (other times not); sometimes it does it automatically (not consistent).
But sometimes even if I have a lot less characters and then I use certain accented characters (French) it does the same and it can't be reconverted to SMS. Other accented characters don't have the same effect.(I spell them out because I don't know how they would be displayed:
- characters always OK: 'a' grave, 'e' acute and grave, 'u' grave
- characters not accepted: 'c' cedilla, 'o' circumflex)
My 2600 and 2610 never did this: I could write much longer messages up to the total limit (split into more SMS) without any problem.Is there a fix for this bug?
