View 4 RepliesFirst, when I bought my Xperia Play(4 months ago)my home network WiFi worked very well on it but today when I search for wifi network I just can not find it I checked my laptop: the WiFi was working very well and I checked my family phones (Android and Iphone) and also they are connecting and working.i tried to do the next : 1- turn off and on my modem (I think it is called like that, I am not that good in networks) but nothing happened
2-turn off and on wifi on my phone
3-turn off and on my Xperia Play
4-Uninstalled go launcher
last things I have did before this happened :
1- Installed a game from the market that uses WiFi called : The Sims Free Play
2- Installed go launcher and go locker with ICS theme
More information : when I go to my WiFi settings I see that IP address is Unavailable.
My iPhone 4s is able to find other wifi connections but does not detect my home wifi connection. I have even tried searching for it with all the different security options and it still says that it does not find my wifi router.
Info:iPhone 4S
I got a new iPhone 4S on May 15, 2012. It worked great at the AT&T store and connected to their secure wireless no problem. I spent 6 hours at home trying to get it to connect to my wifi network - it couldn't find mine or any of only 1 of the other 5 that my iMac can find. I have a Netgear WNDR3700 (the dual band n) router that the iMac, the Macbook, two TiVos and my old 3G phone connect with no problem - and all these devices except the iMac are downstairs in the opposite side of the house from the router. So...I reset my network settings on the phoneI turned wifi on and off again on the phoneI turned airport mode on and off again on the phoneI turned the phone off and restarted itI updated the firmware and the GUI on my routerI took off the security, walked up to the router until the phone was 3 inches away, and it found the network and connected. Safari worked fine on wifi. I walked 5 feet away and the wifi was gone. (The phone will find and connect to my neighbor's unsecured network, but drops the connection if I move more than 5 feet from where I picked it up.)I reinstated the WPA2 security, held the phone 3 inches from the router and connected via the passphrase. Signal dropped again at 5 feet away. I restarted the cable modem (just for kicks) and the router. I changed the router security keys. I added the phone's MAC address to the access list on my routerI did a factory restore on my router, changed the network names and passphrases.I took my phone to the gym, Starbucks and the Apple Store. It connected to the wifi and even made backups on iCloud. It lost the connection at the gym when I went upstairs, but it was still connected when I was outside in the parking lot, so who knows about that. At my Apple Store Genius Bar appt. - which the Apple support guy made for me after he'd been on the phone with me for an hour with no result - the guy immediately gave me A BRAND NEW PHONE. He said it must be a wifi chip problem and that they get about one of those phones a month. I thought, "Lucky me, I won the lemon phone lottery!" I switched my info to the new phone via iCloud while I was in the store and took my brand new phone home: it still sees no networks except my neighbor's and doesn't stay connected for more than 5 seconds. It makes no difference whether I remove the security or not - the phone absolutely will not find my network or any of the other 5 networks near my home.
Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1
It all started on 5.1.1. I flashed a new build of carbon and suddenly it was searching for WiFi constantly and not finding it at all. So I did a clean install of exodus and then cm 12.1. So I went back to stock locked my boot loader on 6.0.1. The WiFi issue still persist.
Twrp 2.8.7
1 and radio/modem for mmb29k.
While in random wifi zones, no problems. However, while i'm at home using my own network, all of a sudden i can't access the play store. says 'No Connection, Retry'.... Problem started months ago, i google it and see people with similar issue but none of their fixes worked for me.

Do you need to use the Internet to view a video you have recorded yourself if it is in 4K if so how come?
And why is it not using my Internet because I have unlimited data but I am downloading something at the moment does this prevent the video getting the URL if it needs it.
Sony Experia play, the home/standby button will still send the phone to standby but it will not wake the phone, i had to use the slide to activate the phone from sleep but now that has stop working. The phone is on and somebody can ring or text (Rings and vibrates) but the screen does not respond. Once in a blue moon it will work fine, then other times i can sit for 20 minutes pressing and sliding for the phone and screen to wake up. I have tried factory reset etc but to no avail.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, we have changed our intertnet providers. Before hand we had AT&T, and when I was connected to wifi via phone it would work perfectly. Now though we have Cox for internet service. My phone is connected to the wifi, but more than half the time does it ever work. In small gaps am I able to connect to the internet with itOther times it's like I might as well not even be on. Any possible reasons?he wifi works fine for other devices in the house. Example as in my laptop. It connects just fine and am always able to access the internet.f my problem is confusing what is happening is that I am connected to the wifi and it shows I am. The wifi status icon is up and shows I have a connection. When I try to access a webpage or app that requires the internet, it will not load at all and sometimes say I do not have any internet access. So while it's "connected" I am unable to access anything and it's as if I'm not even using wifi.
Other details:We have a Motorola Cable Modem: Model SB121A Netgear Dual Broadband Router: Model WNDR3400-100NAS N600And for an extra secruity setting, we have selected the option not to broadcast the wifi so that the only way to connect to it is to know the SSID and connect manually.
Why my xperia play having a difficulty connecting to a Wifi? while my brother's phone which is a Nokia phone can easily connected, we try to connect to the same wifi connection but my xperia play can't connect it says that "Not in range" even though I'm sitting next to my brother and his phone was connected.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi dont know why it has only just started to happen, everytime i lock my phone even if im sitting next to my wifi router it switches the wifi off

I can no longer download the "additional data" most games force you to download to play them. You buy the game, that downloads the initial data to download the rest of the game etc...I get that far and then I got to the app and it asks "The game needs to download an additional (insert amount here) of data. Would you like to do that now?" I press yes and it starts downloading. Each game gets to about 7 percent, then it say "There was an error would you like to restart the download?" It keeps doing that over and over again, there is nothing I can do to get around it. Note that I've downloaded a few games now without issues, a few of the new games I just purchased are from the same developer. However getting tired of it i decided maybe its just the wifi and now i'm doing it through 3G...so far its gotten half way, but being 3G its slower and I don't want to be forced to use this everytime i buy a game...I have about 4 new games i can't download the data too through wifi and can't return because the time frame is up....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Xperia PLAY R800at with 2.3.3. Whenever I'm using my bluetooth device and reconnect to my wifi network, I lose bluetooth packets for 5-6 seconds. This does not happen when I compare against the Nexus S sitting right next to the Xperia PLAY.
This is a really bad problem, and is probably going to result in me not using my PLAY at all.
It detects our home network but when you ask the phone to connect it says' connecting... disconnected'.
I've checked the router settings and the network uses all three interfaces - 802.11g/n/b and encryption is by WPA + WPA2 - so I believe that these are the correct settings for this phone.
