Sony Ericsson :: Spiro - Bluetooth Connection Lost
Sep 29, 2010
I have some trouble to connect my PC on my Spiro. At the beginning everything is working well, and next it lost connections as if it was hidden. They recognize themselves, I can connect and give a password. And next it disappear, as a broken connection or a hidden phone. I try from PC to the spiro cellphone, and also from the spiro to PC, same result. It seems sometimes it find again the connection, but only for 2 or 3 seconds, and next it disappears again.

I seem to be able to establish a Bluetooth connection from the Satio to the TomTom (Go 720) once as paired devices with a trusted connection, but the next time I try to connect it does not work. If I delete the TomTom connection from my Bluetooth devices in the Satio, then I can do it once more, putting in the code and authorizing the connection and it works for a while. After the TomTom has been switched off and the connection has been lost, the next time I switch on the TomTom I cannot connect. I never had this problem with my previous phone (Nokia) and the same TomTom device.

My Spiro won't connect properly to either of 2 handsfree kits (connects but never copies a contacts list). It also won't connnect via the SonyEricsson sync software either (bluetooth or USB) for calendar syncing. So I thought I'd use the software update tool to update the software but that doesn't ever get past the second page (connecting to the phone) although the phone is connected as it appears in Windows as a mass storage device. Has anyone else had so much trouble with these phones?

I bought a new sony spiro this weekend and so far has been a pain in the back. It resets when I try to access the camera, sometines it stops playing music at random times, or it simply stops reading my micro sd. Today I installed the newest firmware, but still the same problem continues.

I cannot connect my Sony Spiro to my PC. I have the USB cable but when I connect it to the PC and phone nothing happens at all. I have had a Sony in the past and it connected no problem. I have the Sony PC Suite on my PC but this cannot find the phone. Windows does not recognize that anything has been connected.

When I have my Aspen connected to my bluetooth carkit, it looses connection after a while. This happens both when in or not in a call. I have searched for some BT timeout settings, but cannot find anything. I had a HTC Snap with the same carkit and never had this problem.

Is there any way I can change the shortcuts on the Spiro? I always end up starting the walkman (Up) or TrackID (Down). I'm used to working with a Sony Ericsson, but e.g. down is for me always opening my contacts. This is really annoying! Ok, Track ID is a great application, but not that great to lock it to that shortcut.

Just got a new Sony Ericsson Spiro. There seems to be no synchronisation software available to backup contacts to a PC. PC Suite page says the phone is not compatible. The phone also doesn't appear in the sync list on the new web sync service. There must be a way to backup the phone data. Anyone know how?

ll of a sudden from this morning my spiro has totally stopped sending any sms. Its not having that dumb out of memory problem just yet but whenever i say send, it just quits the sms screen and soesn't actually send anything. I restarted it a couple of times and nothing seems to change it. Just when I was adjusting to the useless out of memory problem this is a new bomb on me.

Because you don't supply the cable with the phone and, although I already have USB cables and neither fit, have to buy one. Is it on the website so that we know what we're looking for? There appear to be so many variations of endings and I assume they each have a different name or size given to them. Which one is required? Does it have to be an original (yes I know you'd like me to buy original, but if there is a compatible at half the price then some people may go for that option, providing it works of course).

Is it possible to use my mp3s on the micro sd as a ringtone/alarm signal? I have followed the guide on this site (menu>settings>sound&alerts>ringtones) and this brings me to a music folder containing 2 folders (ringtones & my radio recs) but no mp3s. Do i need to put my music into the ringtones folders?

Yesterday I bought Spiro and I encountered some issues:
1. No flashlight as stated in the specification on SE site!
2. If you choose some of the standart equalizers different from normal everything is ok but when you stop the player and then resume it - it returns to normal equalizer
3. You cannot create custom equalizer settings in walkman player
4. Overall the sound quality is awful - even my old 5 years old k750i (which is not walkman) plays music better.

Having bought a SE Spiro a few weeks ago and up til now not having any problems with it, I'd like to know if it's possible to change the clock colour. The reason I ask is that I have a wallpaper/screensaver with a mostly white background and as the clock is also white and only has a thin black outline it is almost impossible to read.My wife also has a white background on her W595 but the clock is black which makes it easy to read.

Spiro is my actually phone and there are much problems The problems stars with the basics of the phone: When I open something, like sounds or videos on the phone, its really slow. I think the access to the SD(HC) card is difficult to the phone, so I tried java-apps, but mostly they won't start or they given up after a while. The OS is buggy, the memory or RAM is limited, this ***** me up. The functions are very limited so I would have at least desired video-streaming - is not possible. No rtsp support? Also no full screen for videos? Anyway, java crashes all the time, can't install the simple apps like Opera Mini, annoying. Same in the themes, same in the phone-mode on PC The phones itself crashes on playing media files. And yep, I've installed the latest software update, but there was no change, It is tough and slow.

i have just purchased a sony ericsson spiro w100i after having had a k310i for many years. On the k320i was a word suggestions option which had "display as list" or "dont display"selecting "dont display" meant that i didnt have the box showing up with a list of possible words i was typing in. On the new phone (w100i) I found "word suggestions" and "next word suggestions" both of which i set to off. However i am still having word suggestions displayed.I would like to know if it is possible on the w100i to not have the list of words displayed as it was with the k310i? any help would be greatly appreciated and of course if it isnt possible to have it not displayed i will just have tp get used to it .

Actually I have 2 questions first one is anyone know how to change the default number on the spiro phone, it says my default number is a totally different number to what my number actually is, don't know how it managed that! Also I want to create a phone lock password and even though my phone is brand new and I've not set one there seems to be a password set as when I try to input a new one it says incorrect password entered!

I bought the Spiro about a week ago and immediately bought a memory card so that I could store my music on there. The phone did not come with a USB cable (which I find a bit cheeky as people are expected to pay for a USB cable AND a memory card if they want to use it for it's Walkman function - no wonder it seemed like a bargain price!) SO I bought a memory card (SD Micro with an a larger 'adaptor' memory card to put it in my laptop) but not a usb cable as I can't afford it. However, I was told that I could put music files onto the card from my laptop, put the card in the phone and access them from there.
Now I have done this, I have ripped the music from a CD, saved as MP3, transferred to the memory card, put the card in the phone, located files on the phone but they won't play!!! It just keeps saying 'playback failed' - whether I play through Walkman or File Manager. I have been looking at the FAQs online but there is nothing that is offering me a solution to this problem. I have also contacted Sony Ericsson Support but have heard nothing back yet. I bought the Spiro for its simplicity but it seems I may have made the wrong choice. So as I see it I have shelled out £50 for a phone and £20 for memory card which I cannot currently use.

I have recently bought Spiro and updated the software. Now I wanted to update the contacts from my old W200i to this one. Checked SYNC but Spiro doesn't come up in the list of the phones. Some forum digging made me realize that Spiro is also not compatible with PC Suite too. Will Spiro support PC Suite/Online Sync in the near future or SE? Except for some connector issues my W200i had worked brilliantly. I wanted Spiro to tide some time till I get an android from SE only. I have advocated SE to the point of being labeled a fanboy and now this. I am having serious doubt about SE's commitment towards its consumers.

Does anyone know hoe to set the default tone for the delivery report? For message deliveries it plays the same sound as the message tone and is often confusing. Whereas the bluetooth receiver plays a different sound which is universal to all SE delivery report sounds. Could anyone tell me how to set it to the other tone and not the message alert tone?

About 2 weeks ago I purchased a new Spiro mobile phone. Apart from the occasional problem of the screen going black and restarting I didn't have any problems in particular. That is until this Saturday. I was having a discussion with a friend via sms. Everything was working fine until the phone stopped sending sms. It also hasn't been able to since then. I can normally write the message, and when I press Continue I normally go to the sending screen. However, when I press Send I return to the Messages screen and the message I just composed is nowhere to be found. Neither in Drafts nor in Sent. And of course it isn't sent to the receiver. As you can understand I am by no means able to send an sms message to anyone because of this. Along with this problem, since this Saturday any sms that I receive appear as blank when I open them in Inbox. As a result I can't read messages either (apart from the first words shown in the Inbox screen under the name) And that's it, I can neither send nor read sms messages with my Spiro. That makes my phone pretty much useless when it comes to messaging. I would very much appreciate any help or advice on how to fix this problem. I would also appreciate any information regarding the cause of this problem.I do not believe my network provider is responsible as my old phone (W810i) can normally send and receive sms messages.
