HTC One M8 :: Can't Share Files Via WiFi Direct With GS5
Jun 16, 2014I'm trying to get my mates GS5 and my M8 to play ball (or transfer a large file) with wifi Direct. Used to work fine when we were both using Samsung phones but not when I'm on the m8.
He's using the built in Samsung wifi direct and I'm using superbeam (as apparently the M8 doesn't transfer files without third party software. We can connect but as soon as he tries to transfer a file it fails.
We did try Bluetooth but the speed is a joke and it failed part way though anyway. How to send files from a GS5 to an M8 via wifi direct?

Jun 1, 2014I have an iPhone 5s 64gb and a family member has iPhone 5s 16gb but Airdrop does not even show up on her "Control Center" screen.
It shows up on my screen, I turn it on and pick everyone but it never finds her phone.
We can turn her bluetooth on manually and it still does not display Airdrop on the Control Panel for her 5s.
Both units have been connected to iTunes and updates are all downloaded and installed but this problem that still exist.
Is it broke?

Airdrop Doesn't See IPhone 5s And IMac
Nov 30, 2014I'm unable to get my iPhone and iMac to see each other to use airdrop. This is with my iPhone literally about 12 inches from the iMac.Â
My iMac is a Mid 2011 27-inch running System 10.10 OS X Yosemite. My iPhone is an iPhone 5S 32GB running OS 8.1.1.Â
Both have wifi and bluetooth turned on. Neither see each other in airdrop. I never got this to work, and finally tonight I decided I had it and I'm going to figure this out. But all the support pages I google and such just skip past the idea that you might not see each other - other than saying both must have bluetooth andwifi turned on. I'm at a loss here. I seem to be doing everything the instructions say to do?Â
One possible issue is this. In the iPhone I see there is a preference to see contacts, everybody or nobody. I selected everybody for that. I don't see anywhere on the iMac with this option. Could it be turned off and I can't find where this preference/question is hiding?Â

It has taken hours to upload files to Iphoto and has now deleted all thumbnails of my images on iphoto replacing them with the same image , over 2000 photos with the same image unless you click on the thumbnail to open the JPEG. I have opened and closed the program restarted my Mac ... same issue .

I created a folder called Shared on my Mac, added docs in that folder to File Sharing in itunes. One is a Pages doc, the other a Word doc. I synced using a cable. Neither doc showed up in Pages on my iphone. I created a doc in Pages on my iphone and shared it through itunes to my Mac. This doc showed up on my Mac. I edited it and saved it. The edits did not transfer to my iphone. This sync functionality has to be there. I must be missing something obvious.

Jun 3, 2014I have a new replacement 4s. I am trying to set it up. I hate iCloud but need it to sync my calendar to my phone. I mistakenly set it up to sync Contacts too and found out it synced ALL contacts which I do NOT want. I used to use iTunes to sync only selected contact folders (one I call Sync). Others are too sensitive to have on my phone. So I turned off "where is my iPhone", and turned off "Contacts" on iCloud. It said it would delete all my contacts on my phone the next time I sync (using iTunes). So I try to sync my Contacts using iTunes and find that under "Info" on the device tabs my only possible selection is ALL contacts with the "Selected" button greyed out. But even leaving all checked, I get the message "iTunes cannot sync information with the iPhone because syncing has been disabled on this computer (my Mac). Do you want to enable syncing?" I hit the button "Enable syncing" and I get the error message "Syncing cannot be enabled on this computer" with "Override" and "OK" my choices. If I select "OK" I get the error message "iTunes could not sync information to the iPhone (Name) because a sync session could not be started". I can sync my music and my apps but get this stupid message otherwise.
